She really reminds me of a Vision. I have also admired the work of William Wynn on Corvair conversions and have often dreamed of putting one together. The Saberwing is pretty much both of those pieces brought together in a kit form. I'm really looking forward to your weekly build series. I especially would like to see your wife helping with the build (#NoCreeper) because it will give me insight in how to get my wife to become involved in my (our) build. And a big thank you to Bill Clapp in allowing you to make these videos. I realize he probably sees this as advertising, but even if people do not buy a Saberwing, it gets people excited about the hobby. Thanks Mike!
Wow, that tri-gear SaberWing is absolutely sleek and beautiful! (So is the tail-wheel model), I'm just partial to the tri-gear. Great work Mojo Grip! Bills an awesome Fell! Oh, please show us more footage of the tri-gear mode l SaberWing, and that awesome Corvair/Hummingbird power-plant conversion. Happy/Safe flying MojoGrip!👍🇺🇸💪
I had the pleasure of meeting Bill last Sept at Mt. Vernon, IL. The plane is just beautiful! I see why people buy and sell airplanes. When people buy this one,,,,, they keep it.
12:24 Wish he had talked about the ignition system. I see the automotive distributor and ignition coil(s), but looks like there's only one plug per cylinder. How important are two plugs?
I’ll go check out the Azalea web site now but was hoping to see what the full kit looks like, when delivered- especially the fuselage; is it already one piece or 2 halves that must be bonded together.?.
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother during the lockdown =)
Here in San Diego we have a lot of Airplanes landing on the highway. Does that mean bad pre-check or not enough time flying experience. ? I don't fly but learning from books ground school
It could mean all of the above or non of the above. An emergency landing typically is a result of an engine failure. A perfect preflight doesn't necessary protect you from having an engine failure. A great upkeep and maintenance of the aircraft can though.
It has less to do with pilots and more to do with geography. In the San Diego area, there’s just no other place to land if something goes wrong in a single engine aircraft... there’s a lot of terrain and the area is congested.
did I read somewhere that the corvair engine was original developed for aircraft but no aircraft manufacturers were interested at the time so chevrolet decided to put it in a car? if that is the case, can u run this engine at high RPM without being hard on the engine components?
I bought a 120 and it repeatedly failed and finally broke a crank shaft over a lake. Azalea said they would purchase it back for a discount. Over a year later , and MANY lies and broken promise to send a check. I now have no refund and he has the engine. Theft by deception in my opinion.
Whoa, thanks for the recognition, Mike. Keep up the good work!
This Saberwing, another interesting option. Thanks for the info.
I like these in depth videos of each brand and aircraft products

Great video as always
Makes sure you get a '64 Corvair or later; Ralph Nader was right about the early year models.

The 601 is N15AU. My dad built that!
How do I get my 4:15 min back?
Have you settled on the saberwing yet?

@Mustafa Zion Yup, I have been using Instaflixxer for months myself :D
Did you get any sense, speaking with the developer, that they might be considering an electric powerplant as an option?
what type of fuel can it run on?

It actually only happens a handful of times in a year. You hear about it because it's a rare occurrance.
Ask the owner if u can buy 5th bearings and cranks of the shelf?
Wow
How’s the plane shopping going?
I think we're watching it...
hahahaha! Typical woman's response, Mike... Aaaawwwhhhh, that's so nice! (Concerning the hummingbird)
