Its kind of a bummer considering that, in spite of it being a 5v5 hero shooter in a market over saturated, and not being free to play, it at least launched feature complete. That is a rare thing nowadays.

The games devs and company both horrifyingly dumped on people over it's failure as if it's failure is a consumer problem (it's not) so that's already strike 1, strike 2 taking offense when someone makes the characters look better than you did spending 200 mill and 8 years on them, strike 3 horrible campaigning of the game made sure it reached as few people as possible and then your mad over it. The gameplay is fine but it's nothing we don't already have or been having for years at this point. You can say the gunplay was good but that's a bare minimum when devs from DESTINY worked on it so it was expected (and yes there is destiny written all over it, especially the one male character literally rocking a Spare Rations as he's pistol). Characters were subpar in looks, weaponry was lacking (the rocket launcher looks and sounds worse than ones from games 15 years ago) so yes it's a complete game but it's also a complete mess. Just want to clarify.

You outdid yourself. You actually made the game fun and exciting, and you also made an immortal time capsule that could only be created within for 2 weeks in summer 2024.

I think it's hilarious that we witnessed the entire life story of Concord - two betas, a terrible launch, players figuring out there's not enough to keep them invested, and Sony taking it out back behind the barn to put it down - in less time than the life cycle of some insects.

3 things were working against it. 1. The awful character designs. 2. Exclusive to only 2 platforms. 3. Trend chasing a trend that's more than 8 years behind. On a side note you said how this was playing like early D1 PvP days with all the curb stomping... Meanwhile in the CoD Bops6 BETA every match is a CDL Finals match that everyone's life depends on winning. Quite possibly the worst matchmaking I've ever seen EVER in a game next to Overwatch 2... BOPS6 is definitely gonna be story then zombies ONLY. Fuck PvP lol.
Yeah, basically the only positives I've heard of this game is a couple of the character designs are alright and the gameplay itself is solid. Other than that, nothing's really appealing and might as well just play something else that's free. Glad you enjoyed the time in it though and had some laughs! I'm sure it will be back F2P in 6 months to try to recoup some of the cost, but we'll see if they actually redesign some of the characters by then to be better.

Yah I think this game was dead on arrival when it launched into a majority F2P market as a $40 game. Why spend $40 on Concord when OW2 is free? Like most of the Hero shooters are free lol. There was just no way to justify the price of entry when there were more established, better looking IPs out there you can download right now and play without spending a dime. That coupled with as you already said, the very BORING Hero design that conveys absolutely nothing to the player... yah, was a big oof.
This game cane out only 3 days after juno in overwatch and has no rule#@ art. While Juno has an disturbing (really scary) amount. That tells you character design is extremely important lol
D2 pvp had me by the balls for ages but now that it’s relatively dead I’m actually really fucking with overwatch at the moment, hadn’t played it in yeaaars and it’s feeling really fresh. Good ol fashion stupid fun with mates
If the game was free to begin with, had attractive and appealing characters, and didn't have the touch of identity politics the game would have probably performed better. It really isn't worth the $40 and my time.
I have a feeling a lot of the fun you were having was simply due to how badly you were stomping them. Honestly though queuing up with a premade, and tryharding with comms in the non competitive game mode against what is most likely game journalists and a handful of developers on the other team is absolutely hilarious, but I am sure it would get boring soon enough.

you can tell the gun asests are from destiny and just how the gun play is, is pretty similar to the recoil pattern of some guns in destiny as well. Just goes to show how uninterested people are in Destiny pvp.

I think the best thing about this game was some of the gunplay had moments of greatness, just everything else was mid or lower than mid.
A lot of the characters had some very floaty feeling guns. I only liked Teo, Lennox, and Star Child. (Soldier 77, Green michael rooker, blue harambe).
