How to remove the fuel pump assambley from a Mercedes w203 c200k . To buy a new assambley might be quite pricy for meny ; however there can be a way to connect a external fuel pump and provide the fuel rail with pressurized fuel .

Good video but please avoid turning on the pump while fuel tank is open. A single spark will cause the fuel tank to blow and I assure you if that happens you don't have time to ran. Safety mate!

I see in this vid when you removed the cup / base from pump unit it had gauze type filter. Does anybody know where you can buy these gauze filters
i replaced the fuel pump but now the fuel gauge acting weird. sometimes wont read and sometimes it will go up and come down slowly to zero but i know i have gas in it
Hey all, i have a c200 kompressor 2002 and i cant seem to find the exact same fuel pump for it here in canada so i purchased a hella 7.00468.48.0. someone told me it might fit i can still return it if it doesnt. aNyone know if it will fit? or if i need the exact same pump
in my (w203 om 611.962) mercedes there was no rear pump.. where it can be located then?😅😅

@lappentv7648 hi I changed both "pumps" that are under the back seat. I bought pierburg, since then car is running on full and on empty tank. On one work I cleaned the tank inside because it was dirty there. If you buy it look at the numbers it needs to be the same numbers u can't buy one from pierburg and the other from magneli as a example work is easy be sure if you change it ur tank I empty on full tank u can not change it greetings

@@wahyuprastowo2114 I did all of that still don’t start and I checked the fuel pressure was zero with 2 different fuel gauge tester.

@@wahyuprastowo2114 Most of this problem is from the Fuel Sending Unit due to accumulated dirt / loose hose and not from the Fuel Pump which always seem to be a culprit which can be diagnosed simply by just listening at the back seat or by opening the fuel filler cap once you turn the key to ignition position, a simple clean can solve such stalling problem and save you a lot of money.

Hi friend! It is me again. I have to share this experience with you and your crowd here. Yesterday, car would not start again! The day before it hesitated to start on peteol, but after few seconds, it started. Yesterday it did not!!! Pulled it again to repair shop, it seams that the fuel pressure regulator broke and when the pump started, making the preassure, one of the HOSES from the pump outlet broke and fell down. This is the least expensive thing that happened to me and my c180 w203, but it still happenede. So...
I just wanted to lost this problem/solution here

I'm not a mechanic but usually diesels have higher psi and different fuel delivery systems
i hv a manual c240 6 gear and my problem is wen i fill up fuel my car it runs well, 20 - 30 km it stops and the gauge show wrong reading but wen i fill up fuel it moves again ,i opened my fuel tank and the other side of my fuel tank will be full and the other side where the pump is will be empty and dry,so is it mean my pump is dead or .....?
Is the shape of the fuel tank allowing for that extra fuel to not be reached by the fuel pump ? The pump will burn after a while if it does run without pumping fuel

My fuel level shows high and when its almost out of gas its around 1/2 whats my problem ? If you can kindly let me know
The level sensor is not sending the corect signal . Try to do a test with a voltmeter to confirm that . It's a potentiometer so use the voltmeter on ohms mode and see if the resistance change all the way along when you manually move the sensor on the fuel pump assambley .

Does it hold the fuel pressure so next cold start the car cranks normal? My c200k doesn't crank cold start at first then starts.
Hi great video. Would you have a part number for the pump you installed...or a link. Parts store had ones pretty close but asked if we know a part number to zero in. If you search for part you get whole assembly...I like how you changed only the pump component. Any help other than search "fuel pump" would be great.
Officially you can not find only the pump that can be replaced , you must buy the whole assembly; That's how they make it on almost all newer cars unfortunately . However it is possible to install an aftermarket one by modifing the old assembly , it won't look good , but it will work and save the money . But first you must confirm that the pump itself its bad .

Dear friend, i found a mechanic that fixed my problem. There was filth in the fuel rail, so the new injectors were clogged after the month and a half. He cleaned the rail and cleaned (washed) the injectors and now it works fine on petrol as on LPG. Thanks for your time

as long as the pump is for the same generation w169 , than it does not matter if the car is a manual / automatic

Helo! Thanks for the video. I managed to replace my fuel pump on w203 c180 kompresor. Recently i have replaced sparks, filter and i still have rough idle and the car turns out after half a minute from ignition. When the temp is on 60 degrees it turns the LPG on and it runs fine. So the trouble is somewhere with fuel (benzin) from pump to motor, or mixing with air?
I smell gas while its running before the lpg kicks in.
Did you had similar experiencies? What can be the problem?

Hei ! Is your car with a lpg conversion ? There can be a lot of things causing this . Its a good idea to gather more data from all the sensors first to get an general image..
I have BRC LPG system, two months ago i got misfire codes on 2 cylinders, in workshop they machined the motor "head", changed the valves, new sparks, filter, injectors, they tested the pump which had enough preassure in that moment. I am crazy about this, dont kniw what to do anymore. I dont beliventhe repair shops anymore. The only thing i havent checked is that fuel pressure regulator and havent checked the fuel lines. Maybe it is some of the sensors for mixing air or something, i dont know. Timing chain was ok when they did the valve replacement. It worked ok for less than a month and once again i have the same problem. The funny thing is that when it swithc to LPG it runs smooth

How does this differ from diesel models? Should the assembly look similar?
I am not 100 % sure . On a diesel model the HPFP will go bad more often .

I have a 2007 CLK 350 I Change the fuel pump sending unit and filter but its not reading the gas when full just when it get to half way then it start reading do you know why
sounds like a defect level sensor which is attached on the fuel pump unit . I would first visualy inspect the sensor and check if the small black pin has contact on the board all the time ..
I will check that out its bran new both units and hoses
Before replacing the unit , was the level sensor working ? It's quite sensitive senaor and it might got damaged during the transportation/ instalation ..
Its all bran new the both units and yes it was working befor i changed it
There are two fuel level sensors in your tank. One comes with the fuel pump on the right side of the tank. The other sits on the left side of your tank. They are interconnected.

I changed my pump but fuel gauge is showing wrong measurement and most of the time it's on empty even whe tank is full.
You changed the whole assembly ? Than it's the dashboard issue 🤔

The fuel gauge gets its signal from two fuel level sensors in the tank.
One one the right half combined with the fuel pump and one on the left side.
They are connected to each other and when one of them goes bad it will effect the fuel gauge like yours did.
@@doit_vehicles Or can be a fuel sending Unit also or a cross wiring mistake between ground level sensor and gauge sensor when we install aftermarket cheap part. Fuel pump and Fuel Sending unit always integral / interrelated parts and so far the fuel is moving smoothly between them and reach to the fuel injectors, the cluster gauge is irrelevant in such equation.
you could write down the name of the motor that we can make search and buy it "fuel pump can be many thing"
I used the site like autoparts.co.uk ; it can be in meny countries; They always sended the right parts when I needed .

Hello, I'm a follower of your page and have noticed that you're very good with these machines, with very good, informative and great videos. I have a w203, c200 Kompressor. I'm from Africa and my country gets very hot. I experience an issue where if my fuel level drops to say 1/2 the car starts to act like it will cut and eventually just cut and this only happens when I come to a complete or almost complete stop of say below 0.5 revs and 5km/h. I will try and press the accelerator but the vehicle will just not pick up. If I go to a fueling station and put fuel the car will return to normal firing order until the fuel drops again, or if I just park and leave it for 3hrs or more the car will operate just normal even without the top up of fuel. If I put a full tank the car will run fine until it reaches 1/2. Also of late I have noticed that if I go to 3/4 and it drops to the line between 3/4 and 1/2 the car will lose power until I put more fuel. I have tried to fill up and found that there is actually fuel in the vehicle. Please advise on what I can check or do to fix this issue.

@@xhuljanxhogu4493 Try to test the Evaporative control system and the Secondary air injection system first ; If you have a scan tool with live data , that might help a lot ..
