- My review of the Emotiva BasX A-100 power amp, a surprisingly useful piece of home audio equipment that can really improve PC gaming.

Pros/Cons/Final Verdict: 9:03
This amp works Very Well for me with KEF LS50, AND Klipsch RP-600 M (and Sennheiser phones). Just love it!
11:10 Your cons ?? :
The amp needs to be deep because its a small one ,not wide ,
Most High End amps have the power button on the back
No subwoofer connection (off course not ,its a power amp not a surround receiver or PC speaker setup) or buy a REL with a high input (connection on the loudspeaker connectors )or use the line outputs on the back.
No remote!? my system cost almost 150.000$ and has no remote .
And last but not least ,It will be compatible for lots of loudspeakers just let it run for a while, Vintage loudspeakers like KEF, JBL,Roger also sound great on this .
And the delay of the automatic switch : Its not designed for PC !! I've got KRELL mono amps that switch to standby mode after curtain time .
Give the little amp a break .
Keep up the great work .

I use mine with a schiit multibit DAC and a Schiit SYS preamp switcher for multiple inputs. The A100 has passed through lineouts that you can connect to a powered sub. I also use the direct power option of the headphone out to a pair of t-50 RP headphones by fostex. But yes if you have very efficient low impedance headphones I wouldn't bother with the jumper mod .Good video!
The Sega Dreamcast and the Sega Saturn were some of the best consoles ever made. It's just too bad Sony did some underhanded marketing to undermine Dreamcast sales. If the Dreamcast works have been allowed to perform in the market without subterfuge, Sega would still probably be making consoles and considering Sony and Microsoft's near-future offerings, a third option would certainly be welcomed.
How do you know what volume setting the BasX A-100 is set to when there is no level indicator like the PT-100 pre-amp I own has? Thinking to get it for a bedroom system.
Do you think this amp would be a good fit for the Elac B6.2? Waiting for the Elacs to go on sale again and pull the trigger.
I haven't used the Elacs, but it seems like they have similar specs to the Wharfedales in this video (6 Ohm/87db sensitivity). This amp was effortless with those speakers. I am now running a pair of Triangle Borea BR02s and I am experiencing equally effortless performance, though these are easier to drive. It should work well.
@@GameEscape Sounds good, thanks for the response!
Is this power amp or integrated amp?
Power amp.
Can i use subwoofer with this amplifier??
No, there is no sub out on the unit. I think there is a way run this and speakers through a sub with the correct inputs and work the crossovers from the sub. Probably not ideal, but supposedly workable.
The A-100 has pass-through lineout RCA ports (same line-level signal being inputted to the amp) that you can connect to a powered sub.
Jon Ronald Flores correct. Nice going Jon.
OMG, how do u play games with a 5" mousepad??? X_X
It's pretty confusing which type of speakers you say this amp is good for... "Not good value for cheap speakers", "$300 for speakers and $229 for an amp is a lot of money", "these are best for $50 Craigslist speakers" :/ I am assuming this amp is great for all speakers *except* the ulta high-end, most picky and/or demanding.
I suppose every loudspeaker at the price around $200-300 or even 500 will do it fine with this amp. Tried it with Klipsch, KEF and Pylon bookshelf speakers, none made me disappointed.
