This was a hilarious episode. You have to feel for the Skipper. 39 losses and he still losses when everyone conspires to try to fix the last race in his favor.
The turtle races were so funny. I liked the part where Ginger reads a phony horoscope to the Skipper making him believe he will win the next race.then everyone switches the turtles so Skipper gets Howell's turtle and still the Skipper losses the race.
Watching this, it's 1973 around 4pm and I'm eating an ice cream cone somewhere between Speed Racer and Leave it to Beaver. If it's a Sunday then it's Star Trek right before Mom calls us to the dinner table.
Good, innocent family entertainment. Heck, even my grand kids like Gilligan's Island.
how could they not??

My favorite the banana splits
I bet Mr. Howell was more happy to turn over Gilligan than the Skipper was to get him back. LOL
This is the episode Thurston says "I didn't get to my exalted position by taking things at face value."
The writing was actually very witty and amusing.
I want a win. If you’re not first your last to be happy.
Mr. Howell was always so lucky. I think thats how he got all his money.......lol
