pov: you're 23 years old watching an aarp tutorial on bird watching i really enjoyed this video! i can't wait to get out and learn about the environment around me.
I was stressing at work the other day so I decided to chill outside on the grass during break. A Magpie sat with me for an hour as if it could tell I was upset. His friend joined but one Magpie who also tried to join was turned away...I felt like the "cool kid " everybody wanted to be around simply because I'm human lol Birds have their own personality and once I saw that It blew my mind because it's a reality check. They are alive just like us...Idk... I just felt so ignorant and rude as if Ive been ignoring Hello's and Goodbye's all my life. The experience got me into birding:)
There's a couple of areas in my local park in London where the birds are used to people and recognise a food opportunity! They will feed from the hand and often stay there until all the food is gone. A robin also landed on my shoulder and waited for me to get the food out of my pocket. A lovely experience.
Woow in Wolverhampton not as lucky but i see robins in my woodland areas and they know mee, ive gave food at times and they randomly fly near me, i give the food in a hideout i found in forest to be alone (best peace way) dream is to have robbyi in my hand i had dreams of it!
I'm in a perfect spot to get into this. East coast on a barrier island. Bird sanctuary on one side, marshland on other along the bay. I've been here only 3 months but cant believe all the different birds during migration.
BLACK BARON1:50 ... Birds react and get curious in the air when you fly certain flight manoeuvres with a little RC helicopter in the middle of nature. I find it always interesting to watch the "Bird Perspective" from my position ... "Grounded". I wonder if humans could teach them one day how to fly a "Looping".
I am not sure if I can call myself an official birder, but I like to tape and photograph birds. The only problem, most of the birds I find are tiny, they move fast, and they won't let you get close to them!
I keep hearing a knocking sound from the woods near my house. So I took out my old pair of binoculars. I finally discovered the source of the sound a woodpecker. Lol. It was grey and white with a red spot on the top of his head. Does anybody have any idea what type of bird it is?
Nice video :) What are peoples thoughts on boundries and disturbance? This is of course just me, but baiting and calling, with bird sounds on a media device or made by humans, oversteps it in my opinion. However, I do feed birds in my garden via feeders so theres a conflict...
Saw two birds..with body shiny blue/greenish...with yellowish/orange becks and really orange feet...in Corpus Christi, Texas. Never seen them before...what are they..????
I've only identified 27 species out of 250+ where I live.... ;-; I did recognize a grackle, a FEMALE cardinal, a mallard, a sparrow, a chickadee, a Robin, a Male cardnal, In this video though :3
Millie The Mouse-bat so far I've identified 53 species on my farm over the past year, I just identified the Varied Triller a couple days ago. It's always by accident, because I have no idea what birds are supposed to live in my area! I literally just walk around and find new birds, it's awesome.
HELP: I recently moved to the Pacific Northwest and I've seen so many beautiful birds, but I'm having a problem finding one bird in particular...the Owl. I hear them but I can NEVER see them, WTF. Even when I know they are close by I still can't see them. Whats going on??
look higher. they tend to perch really high up OR inhabit hollowed out dead portions of trees. they have great camouflage as well so they can be very difficult to spot.
You have to find where they roost. I used to see them when I was out lamping rabbits. Still see the occasional barn owl flying by when driving through country roads etc.

I heard like pishing is a crime..birds come near that sound imagining other bird have found food and is making sound..and they get fooled..it's like we are wasting their time.
You've probably bought some binocs by now, but just in case you haven't, Wingspan ProBirder binoculars are awesome! They are designed just for bird watching. Amazon sells them for just over a hundred, but they're just as good as an expensive pair and they have the ED glass, so the colors are awesome!
I'm the world's worst bird watcher. I can't resist talking back to them, but I seldom bother to spot them. I have all sorts of interactions with them, and I just stand and talk to them. They gather to me - every species in earshot, and speak back. Finally, a dove or doves will show up to watch, but they remain quiet. I'm not really a bird watcher - I'm a bird watchee. That is another basic possibility.
Somebody please do something !!! In Meghalaya. NE India, there is rampant killing of birds. Wildlife almost non existent. Every household will boast of a catapult laden Hunter . The hills & dales are scenic but devoid of fauna. The state capital is Shillong. It's strange but nobody cares & are oblivious of having a cold cold heart.
Don't need to imagine her when she was younger. The here and now she is gorgeous Don't take that away from her as she can't be any more or any less beautiful that she is. Age is irrelevant.

So nice of him to give her his expensive pair of binoculars while using his lesser ones, what a gentleman.
Yeah. He says "all you need is an inexpensive set of binos" as he hands her Swaros.

The most beautiful bird in the world is the Cardinal. Not only are they beautiful to look at but they sing so beautifully too. LOVE MY CARDINALS!

I'm up in Lincs, and have had robins eat seeds from my hand.

Great video - Birding is a lot of fun for people of all ages and it takes no specials skills to get started.
Excellent, my wife would enjoy bird watching.
Agreed!
Really loved this birding trail, relaxing and fun
She resembles Loona Lovegood.
I would love to try this :)
Just found an (inhabited) Bald Eagle nest above my town's reservoir, Central Virginia, definitely has got me into this hobby!!
Great video! Shows how peaceful it can be!

The cameraman is the real birdspotter he has to spot and also film it too.
Was this shot in Central Park, NYC?

There you go. Just started birding and you're already in a dilemma.
Any pictures of the trousers birds ??
Amazing video and amazing channel and amazing job 😀😎👍
The Cardinal is a rather majestic-looking fellow.
Can I try this?
Well documented, kudos.
Love birding and nature. Thanks!
@ 0:21 seconds she casually flashes her backpack, which happens to be a TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR PRADA BACKPACK😭
KEYNOTE PABLO then the guy hands her a pair of $2,500 Swarovskis lol.

Owls are almost silent when they fly, so it's understandable they'd sneak past you.
You may be hearing Mourning Doves. Look up their call and see if it is similar to what you are hearing.
You have to find where they roost. I used to see them when I was out lamping rabbits. Still see the occasional barn owl flying by when driving through country roads etc.
I live in the PNW and see them all the time at a local park just before dusk. They seem to be most active then :)

What sort of note book do I need?
I just use a notebook with plain lined pages. There are also some that have templates for you to put in info about the birds you see.
great video
I wish I could get a chickadee to land on me. Nice video. I just subscribed.

You gave them energy bars?
Nice vidio, I like it,.
Lovely movie. Super implementation. Congratulations on the idea. Greetings from Poland and invite you to visit our country.
Hi. What kind of birds do you have in Poland? Lots of large rivers there, so I bet you have loads.
Have any binoculars brand suggestion for a beginner? not too expensive please. Someone told me HUTACT is not bad. anyone has tried this?

You reek of victimhood. Please grow up.
"an inexpensive pair of binoculars", he said, as he handed her the $3k Swarovski's
