Still old fashion, I hang my bedding outside on clothesline, after dryer to let the sunshine on them. Nothing to me smells better than fresh bedding!

I was told putting steel wool into openings will keep mice and rats out because it cuts up their feet. I used steel wool on any openings on my RV that they might come in. It still allows air to flow through.
To take care of mice I spread cinnamon bark under and around my RV, House, and vehicles. I also make sachets containing Mint tea, cloves, lemon peal, Italian seasoning mix, cinnamon, and bay leaves. You can spread the herb and spice mix on ground in addition to the cinnamon bark.
I don't think the mint has anything to do with keeping the mice away. I've shredded Irish spring soap around areas I've seen rats and mice. All they do is crap over it. So mints a myth in my book.

You're lucky to have a good trustworthy mechanic like Stan to work on your vehicles. They are hard to find.
Finding a trust worthy and reasonable mechanic is a true true blessing ! It's true mice hate peppermint oil, either look in stores for essential oils you can put into spray bottle and spray inside and out occasionally. (I'd suggest throwing some moth balls under the hood, but Lordie like mice, I too can't stand the smell of moth balls. ) Thanks for sharing.
Kevin, don't park the tracker in the same place, move it in a different place each night! You can also try a radio under the hood at night, or one of those ultra sonic rodent boxes under the hood each night! Never use the rodent box around the dogs though!
Dexter needs an AirTag type device to keep up with him.

We had a little tortoise shell cat when I was a kid. That little cat would chase any dog in the neighborhood that happened to come into our yard. She was pure hell on wheels and would take on all comers.
I have the waggle system for my dogs when we camp definitely look into it keeps you updated on your phone with power loss and the temp inside your rv
You made me check our temperatures here in Oregon for the week. 102˚ on Saturday and Sunday. Yipes ! I'll be glad when summer is over.
Mice hate the smell of peppermint oil.I use it in my house,I soak cotton balls in peppermint oil and put them in drawers,behind my washer and dryer anywhere you can think of it is the best thing I have found.I just refresh them every 4 to 6 weeks and it works like a charm.

In the Navy we used to have air bedding day when would take out our mattress and tie the on the life lines. 👍🏽

Kevin, have you ever tried ammonia bombs to get rid of mice and snakes too? An ammonia bomb is simple to make. Take a zip lock baggy, soak a piece of fabric with the ammonia, put that in the baggy, don't close the baggy, lay it near where mice have been, or snakes, LOL. They don't like the smell. You won't like the smell either, LOL. I used them here one winter in the basement to keep the mice out. Did a pretty good job! Loved seeing Dexter get some daddy time! Love seeing all the woof pack, as always!! Great video!!
I have been using ODO-BAN for years now. I buy it at Home Depot or Amazon by the gallon. In the bathroom and mop floors, launder dog beds etc. It's concentrated too and affordable.

Mice are a way of life out here. The air filter in my truck was full of peanuts once. I have a really good bait I use in the house & vehicles now, but I don't have pets. If I did, I couldn't use it. I saw my first snake in 4 years yesterday when I disposed of a dead mouse out back and the snake said don't mind if I do. Just a gopher snake but still not too pleasant. I don't live far from you as the crow flies so if I've got a snake I bet you do too.

On my last visit I found the mice moved into my CONEX and did some damage. I need to fix the doors to close better to seal properly. I left 5 traps to get some of them and I just bought some peppermint to deter them.
Put a jar of Vicks vapor rub in your vehicles.
It's supposed to keep critters out.

We used the pouches from here in 2 homes with serious mouse problems and they worked great, might put a few in the tracker and possibly in the RV and tiny houses

I saw a short on Instagram that pouring vinegar around the perimeter where mice go repels them. Supposedly the vinegar smell is similar to ‘marking the spot’ of a predator. Clueless if this works, but vinegar is cheap and safe for the environment and pets. Why not experiment.

Kevin, I have to keep my hood up every time it is parked at the house ! WOOD RATS ! Once so far this year ! ( I forgot to put the hood up one day after going to Walmart… 😳 my bad ‼️ so I had to pay for that lapse…. ‼️)

The critters are amazing with how they can get into stuff. If the tip of your pinky can go through it a mouse can too. On the camery I got some 1/4 inch hole screen and screwed over an area they were getting in. When the pack rats start moving in at your place I have a live trap you can use. So far in a week I've trapped four. Which in the long run would be hundreds more. Well as always another great video and you got Mr Stan the man on too. He's such an amazing individual. Well TTFN see on the fourth.

It used to be people aired their bedding every morning by pulling the top end down over the end ofvtye bed. Opened a window. A cousin of my fathers even vacuumed the bottom sheet!

Hi Kev and beautiful babies. Don’t be too hard on yourself about Dexter getting away at least he went to visit and Carolyn scooped him up right away. I accidentally let my grandsons little guy out and he is a runner 🤦🏼♀️ I finally got him but it was a little scary because he just runs and doesn’t care where and calling him or chasing him is pointless. Finally I got a cookie and that got him 😂 Point being it happened but he’s safe and we can’t beat ourselves up for it. Is this the first with a mouse in the car? I would think living in the open like that there would be a lot. Hope they stay away for ya. Much love and many blessings

Thank goodness that Carolyn saw Dexter wandering off . If she had not glanced out the window that moment, discernment tells me that he would've been gone. The worst of course, is when your pet vanishes, and we don't know their fate. I lost my cat that way . No closure.
Humbly i suggest , that Dexter needs to be leashed when outdoors, Kevin. He has the exploring personality .

Kevin, Switch the fresh air selector to recirculate. This will close the door on the air box, it won't keep'em out of ur engine compartment but will prevent access to ur heat and a/c duct system. Also, did not see the cabin air filter replaced?

good dogs still have mind of there own. thay may give the love. and you to give it. but thay still need to test you. have had big dogs from pound. Thay are smart. Thay watch you not watching them there off woundering.
He may be getting through your fresh air intake, which is likely under your cowl panel

At 18:03 the tire girl had a lug stuck in her socket, hopefully, it was just a brief thing. Sometimes the 22mm lugs have a cheap sleeve over them and they swell, some 19mm are the same but fewer.
Mice and squirrels can do MAJOR damage to vehicles, I see it every day at work. Even on warranty cars (5k miles or less). Almost impossible to keep the critters at bay but one can use Peppermint essence oil and spray it around the engine every week or so and those satchells you can buy at auto stores help too.
Other but more expensive deterrents are sound and of course, light.
Can the other Yorkies smell or know the mouse/pack rat is in there?
Needless to say, I hope you can evict it/them!
