- Trying these marker comparisons in short form for shorts! I briefly go over some similarities and differences between the BIC Markers and Sharpie Markers while I color this fantasy character! On the left is BIC and on the right is SHARPIE! Let me know your thoughts on these quick versus, and tell me what you'd like to see next!
For highlights, I used a white Posca paint pen on both sides

Color wise, I like sharpie the most for most colors. However, sense and grip wise, definitely Bic.
same. sharpie is also very common.
No
@@pauljvoorhees6371 Pardon? Not sure what you mean by that.
Personally I prefer the colours of the bic marker but still cool
Now combine them
sharpie seems good for deep colors and less detailed artwork, while bic seems good for lighter colors and more detailed artwork. both are good when you use them for the right purpose 👍👍👍
Also Sharpies have a lot of super brights which can be a pro or a con depending on what you're drawing, and I think Sharpies stink more. Though Sharpie has a line of waterproof, alcohol markerproof pens in an entire rainbow of colors under the Sharpie Pen line and some even have brush tips which is awesome.
@@aquabluerose7734 Mhm! for me sharpies are good for small drawings where colors need to pop
facts
Yep
That is true
Everyone: *Talking about Bic and Sharpie*
Me: *Wondering how they got a perfect straight line*
Hmmm idk maybe a ruler??🤨🤨
Rulers exist
@@BABYYT33TH I know lol- I just wasn’t smart enough then to think of a ruler🥲
I'm wondering how they got perfect symmetry on paper
They draw it digital and then print it out and color it!
Honestly I'm just blown away how perfect your coloring is with both. It's a testament of true skill to make coloring with permanent markers look this smooth 😂
Id choose bic. They have more sense than sharpie, as in they have a way to tell colors apart.
Yeah if you need bright colours its Sharpie but i prefer the look of Bic too
than*
Same bro
The cap?
@@DarrenRiha you can't get a good reading off the cap of a sharpie. They can be lighter or darker then the caps and thats the hard thing to figure out til you use it (if you're smart, you swatch it first.)
I like bics side because the colors aren’t too fluorescent. plus the grip, it’s cheaper, and they have a way to tell colors apart which is helpful since I’m colorblind and will easily confused colors if they don’t have a name and/or number on them
I ruined 499
Yeah
Agreed
Yeah but I'm not colorblind
The neck thing matched really well!
I like how the Sharpie spreads, giving things a smooth, rendered look, while the bic appears better on details. Overall I prefer the look of Sharpie but Bic seems more practical.
Blue, is that you?
I live in Brazil, and here it's pretty easy to find Bic markers. I really love how smooth they look and the color variety.
Brasileire que gosta de dreamcatcher, aí sim
Plus sharpies here in Brazil are crazy expensive 🤠
E eu nunca nem vi uma sharpie aq kkk
@@LumaSloth Eu só vi umas duas vezes, naquelas papelarias chiques que vende material sério de arte tipo nanquim, argila profissional, tinta a óleo cara, aquarela importada e os caramba
The only main difference that I see is the background. Sharpie has a brighter background, whereas Bic has a lighter background
brighter and lighter are the same in drawing
@@joshgaming1585
What they mean is that the bic background had lighter colours while the sharpie one had more saturated colors
You could say, bic lighter
I mean the greens are completely different but okay like they're not even the same shade of green.... I wonder if the sharpie just didn't have a comparable green....
I've always drawn with Sharpies when I was in middle school, so when I got bic, I was very much surprised how light the colors were since I'm so used to Sharpies. Right now, I no longer use bic or Sharpies to draw since I have gotten the 216 pk of Ohuhu Brush markers from working my ass off. In the end, I prefer Sharpies because of their new color range.
Same, only for me it was Bic! I liked using them for the soft/chunky tips, worked great with my cartoony artwork back then. I also preferred the color selection. But if sharpie came out with new colors I wanna check those out 🤔
Now I’m just a hobbyist that colors and draws occasionally, so keep some tombows on hand. I only have a couple sets, gotta keep an eye out for those Amazon price drops. Never buy them in the art stores because they’re always gonna be 2 or 3 times the Amazon prices, I don’t know why! Usually things are spendier on there.
Forget the markers, this character is just omg perfect
Is this done on a blending card? The markers color so smoothly and I can barely see the streaks! That's amazing!!
Love your art as always, you're a big inspiration to me :)
Yes 😁 I use the X-press It Blending Card Paper. And thank you! 😊
Probably, but you don’t really need it because the markers are alcohol based to they will blend decent on their own
Wow props for coloring so good with permanent markers. The Bic ones seem less streaky but tbh your control of the strokes is what really shines through!
The left side is appealing in that it's softer and looks so much more blended in. the right side, however, is bolder and pops out more. It's a tie for me.
I’m sorry I just have to say it but ur line art legit is so flipping smooth it looks like digital art 😫😫💖💖💖💖💖
I saw this on Instagram and I love it
Thank you 😁
@@lela.the.artist np and can u draw me as a sea monster just go to ur insta and ur new one this one but on insta I told u something can u check it
I’ve never heard of bic before
I barley use permanent markers but when I do I normally just use sharpies
@:P we’re everywhere
Hey fellow cult member
@@angelmilk5903 hello fellow loveth fan
....how have you never heard of bic? They make everything....you ever used a lighter?
those sharpie colors are 👌👌👌
that green is gorgeous
I’ve always just added my own personal labels to my Sharpies. Especially the colors that are closer together shade-wise. A little piece of paper taped to either the cap or end and boom! Granted, it takes some time and obviously my names aren’t the same as someone else’s but it’s a start.
Absolutely hands down love Bic. I prefer the way the colors dry, the feel of the markers in my hand and also the black doesn't dry brown as I've seen a lot with sharpie. I use sharpie fine tips for lining drawings but for all over color it's Bic. Price difference is worth it too.
I love the blending on the Bic, but the more defined colours on the sharpie. Again, both would still be hard to work worth as a newbie, as imma have to say tie :)
Wow, the color theory in this drawing is actually really cool! Very creative selection of colors without it looking like it’s too much colors. Pink and green are complementary colors, while yellow and blue are the two colors that make up green. Very clever!
I've tried both, and for my personal art style it's sharpie all the way. But if you find bic fits your style best then go for it. I have just always loved the way sharpies feel... Smooth ya know. And there pastels range is stunning 😍
Sharpies are really great for adding dark tones to your drawings! That is what I found out!
I’m not an art person, I like sharpies just cause they’re sharpies
omg im in love with this character
I started out with Sharpie as my first marker of choice, so it'll always have a special place in my heart.
The fact that she could draw a whole straight line i could never 🤧
I don't know, maybe it's just me but I prefer the Bic markers instead. The colors have more of a contrast between them which makes them great for highlights and shadows. I just overall prefer the Bic markers instead of the Sharpie markers especially because Bic has the grip thing on them.
I like both Bc wit the sharpies you have bold colors and you can identify them easily but I like the first one Bc it colors blend, have a better verity, and they are both permanent markers, which I love.
I love watching these and seeing the color difference you get with a different brand
Daaaaamn, pens aside that art is eye bulging, I can’t think of a better way to say it
Most of the colors look almost identical, bit I definantly like how the bic markers look a bit more than the sharpies
The left gives it a more realistic body color, as the right gives it a more colorful look for that glowing, lively look
That line work is so gorgeous and smooth woww. I liked the left one.
I think I like the Bic markers better, specifically for the grip and the fact their easier to identify the colours. The sharpie is nice but not being able to identify the specific colours is a huge disadvantage (in my opinion)
I definitely like bic more overall, though I guess it also depends on what you value and want from a marker
Left. So much more depth shown they do a good job of giving a better range of colors in a set it seems. Very nice!
I like the bic side. They both seem like good budget marker but I love the way that the hair for sharpie's side was done
Left for colder colours and right for warmer colours
Im happy you actually tried with both and not just the one you like better
I really like both sides and with the way you drew it to compare made it seem to me like two sides of a different world or different part and I really like that. It’s like a story.
that's the smoothest sharpie application I've ever seen tf
I loooove coloring with sharpies
Awww thank you 😁
I like the saturation of color in the Sharpies better, but the Bic blended better… it’s a tie.
The first I did the colors came out nicer 🥰
I have both and love both. Bic is good for detailed works and seem smoother to me. Sharpie is good for gradients/blends but less detailed works. They're both amazing and have wanted to use the two hand in hand
both honestly look pretty good
Wow i love how the bic side turned out!
Both like great. The right one looks much more vibrant
I can't draw for my life but when watching these videos I feel like a connoisseur
I like the vibrancy of the sharpies, but the bic has a softness that just really reels me in
Omg sharpie for the skin and bic for everything else. In regards to this drawing specifically!
Sharpie seems rich in color while bic is smooth and light but both are great and can be used together for shading outlines etc.
Bic side is my favorite, great job! Looks beautiful
The left is honestly the best out of the two and the explanation you gave was awesome and I totally think I'll buy the markers on the left
I like both
Can we talk about how satisfying that was tho
Thank you 😁
Your drawings and characters are so cool
They are both beautiful
I love the bic marker and its water color effect!
Omg your shading is amazing-
Hey, I LOVE either Bic or Sharpie brand markers and pens, especially the multi-colored variety packs!
I love the teal of the sharpie. You have great skills.
I like bic better since the blending looks much smoother and the shading is also smoother
I like the affects the Bic markers have much better :0 So pretty and smooooooooth!
The Bic side is gorgeous!
Left side but I love how the hair and skin turned out with sharpie
I like the bic ones more. They are easy to figure out and have pretty nice colors, so I'd have to choose it
I'm gonna have to say bic, that color shading makes it better in my eyes. I also love that character!
I like the sharpie color scheme, but bic seems to have a wider palette. Either way it looks really good. You are very talented
Your art is so good.
THIS DRAWING IS GORGEOUS HOLY SHIT
Ur such a good artist I saw good reasons for both
I honestly love your videos.
Is it just me or do I just absolutely love the hair?
I think the sharpie has a more vibrant pallet, while bic blends better and seems most comfortable to use
on the actual character it almost makes it look like there is a blue lighting on the sharpie side
I love bic. I got a set of 48 markers and matching fine liners at sam's club. They even come in a turning holder that sit perfectly on my side desk.
I used BIC for years when I was just starting to take art seriously and though im a digital artist now, I still prefer them
For the hair, the accessories and skin, I think sharpie is better but for the eyes and the dress, Bic markers are
Left seemed to be more realistic while they both had beautiful colors
I really like the the right side more because it seems more colorful then the left
Honestly I would use a mixture of the two based on the slight differences in color.
I love the BIC markers! They are one of my absolute favorites!
Sharpie has taken me through some rough times. I'll love them for life-
I like the Bic side. I have never heard of it but I'll try it out
I like both!! The colors are amazing. But it seems the sharpie has a better color saturation.
Y’all making detailed reasons on which one you think is better meanwhile I don’t know a thing about art in the slightest and judging it off of what I think looks pretty (bic) :D
I personally prefer sharpie since the colors are pretty and colorful (in my opinion) and I feel like they’re really good for line less art :]
It is so pretty!
I love the colors with sharpie and the no streaky coloring so I'm going with Sharpe
Omg you havent come on my recommended in ages🤯
I like both as they both have different uses for different things
Both of these give off slightly different vibes and emotions but I actually really like them both 😍 ooo, maybe I should work on drawing stuff in my sketchbook, then transfer it to online, printing it and using sharpie to color it- or just using sharpie in my sketchbook
The colors actually look much better than I thought they would
God these videos are so satisfying
So clean
I'm from the UK so I have to rep BIC as they are more of a household name and with the colours , prices ,packing and labeling I think they are a winner 😍
Now that's actually art
