Ladies and Gentlemen, an original military flintlock rifle in action straight from the end of the 18th century. History and modern time shooting. - Наука та технологія
That, my friend, was stunning. You had it all. The rifle, the kit, the context, the shooting, and the editing.... AND you had the correct headdress...... bravo.
Hello from Seattle! Quick question, can any of the old muzzleloading rifles use a mini-ball or are they limited to ball and paper patch?
@@ironstarofmordian7098 id say it can use a minie, its just a bullet thats a different shape, id say it would work better
Oh man, I don't have a Patreon account but now I will finally make one. This channel absolutely has to live on. Best regards from Bulgaria.
Thanks for your support!
I wish i could like this comment 100 times
keep the videos going there good and very informative
PRAKASH
Now this gun will get add in Guts & Blackpowder
What are you doing here??? Anyway i came here because of it too
Yeah me to
STOP got here before me..
@@Mr.RamenNoodlez_ sry boi hes faster
hell yeah.
When the 1796 rifle has a better trigger than lots of modern carbines
In the words of our Emperor, "Ironic".
I have a Norwegian M1774 musket, it has an excellent trigger. It is actually better than the trigger on my Mauser Kar98, and the Mauser has a really good trigger.
It is impressive that a 248 year old gun has such a good trigger. It has a single stage trigger, very light and soft trigger pull.
There is really no one else SHOOTING the old guns, they just talk about them or shoot repros. I really enjoy your channel and look forward to every new video. I will go to patreon and help as much as I can.
Thanks for your support!
Saddlebag Preacher i know two years after your post, but if you had to choose between a museum quality original or an accurate reproduction, what would you choose to shoot?
@@Dovah22 tbh the reproduction because I don’t wanna be the guy holding the museum piece when 200+ years of age finally decide to take their final toll.
Just try and buy an old gun off some of the cranks that own antique firearm stores.. One old twit I spoke to on the phone the previous day changed his mind after I spent half a day travelling.. And then he chased me halfway down the street when I thanked him for wasting my day..
We are all glad to you are not quitting. Why they pushed all firearm channels into the demonetized mode is so sad. This is history. We need history. UA-cam needs to get this fixed or they won't stay around.
Funny that my videos are not demonetized, just the ads disappeared, making the revenue to drop very significantly...
Watched your channel for quite a while and have to say I learn something from every video. I am a long time shooter of black powder arms, both cartridge and muzzle loading. Just signed up as a patron for Patreon for your channel. Keep up the great work.
Many thanks!
I think it's finally time to start supporting gun channels with patreon since even your small channel got in trouble.
Thanks for the niche content as always. Very good video!
Thanks!
Kingdom of Bayern, my ancestors' land before they went stateside; cool to see what they might of carried. And I'm glad to hear that you're not giving up with your videos. Some of the best on youtube.
Yes another excellent gun Chanel to support with patreon.
I have signed up as a Patron and I hope many more show thier support for the show and your work which we all enjoy and learn from.
Really appreciate this Channel and the work you put in. I love history (especially military history) I hope to see this channel grow and grow. I'll support you guys. Keep up the good work.
UA-cam is just restructuring for public broadcasting. It should be sorted out soon. UA-cam is not over; The system would have crashed if it was. I really enjoy your channel, black powder is not only fun to shoot but it is also an amazing history lesson. keep up the good work!
Patreoned ! took less than a minute to set up. Thank you for your content it is always a pleasure to watch.
I just became a patron, I really love your videos! I often use them for my job, and share them with my coworkers. Thank you so much for doing this
Thanks Peter!
Fucking UA-cam is shooting itself in the foot thinking it's gonna help.
Sir Waffles i just watched an ad on this video, but he said there weren't any?
There are other video sites why are you here then? UA-cam doesn't control the advertisers they pulled out.
RandyLeftHandy there could be adverts, but the money goes to somebody else and not him.
I didn't get any adverts.
Well that blows. I had a weird ad on a video the other day that came on even though I was using adblock. One of the ads with the yellow playbar.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for what you do.
As usual, an informative and detailed explanation. Well done sir
thank you for your time and work. I have added my bit to your Patreon account because videos like these are one of things I enjoy.
Thank you for your channel. I love these old guns. from Mishawaka , Indiana USA
Excellent video as always. I can't count the number of Cap and Ball videos I have watched. Totally enjoy the videos and my black powder guns and shooting. I am going to set up my Patreon account today after work.
So amazing that after all these years it still shoots as well as a modern made repo could do.
We’re the triangular patches the norm?
I am not that experienced with BP rifles to make a knowledgeable judgement, but that rifle seems quite accurate to me. Given its length of bore and the rate of twist, I was quite amazed at how good it shot: all shots were within minute of man! Thank you for sharing.
What a lovely and easily carried rifle! Compared to the Brown Bess this certainly had advantages and accurate as well. Thank You So Much, Many Blessings and Good Shootin! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
a thumbs up before the video even starts and i am never disappointed although the accent makes me miss the time i spent in Budapest . One day ill make it back, thank you again for another perfect video.
:) Budapest is a great city to be. I had some very serious chances in my life to leave the country to earn more money. I never did. I think I wont regret it.
Keep pressing on, your videos are VERY educational and very well done.
Fascinating video. I was so surprised at the accuracy. Thnx for the video I learn so much about these types of firearms
UA-cam needs to grow a pair.
Or to stop taking estrogen pills
Jewtube. Your in a race war.

Thank you for another very informative and well-presented video. I enjoy seeing you shoot both on the range and in the field. I have recently purchased a Pedersoli Jaeger rifle, which is a welcomed addition to my firearm collection. I look forward to more of your excellent presentations.
Absolutely! I have no words!! Its a beautiful rifle! 🇦🇹 🇦🇹 🇭🇺
It only took 12 seconds for me to hit the like button. I need a hat like that.
the simple jump in technology is amazing
Thank you for your work. This is a truly excellent channel and very much appreciated!
Guts and blackpowder just added this rifle
I really enjoy your videos. Please keep up the great work - you are very much appreciated, my friend!
I love the look of flintlock carbines.
Something about your accent that makes me wanna come back and watch your videos
I salute your Programming ..... keep "it up" ....stay FREE
tank you so much for the videos and plese dont stop making them
New g&b weapon is fire
Actually I still get ads on your videos. UA-cam is still milking you for money. They just are not letting you have any of it anymore.
Same here.
hello from California San Fransissyco Gay area! Thats right gents and germs San Fransissyco....no im just pulling your leg...love the channel and yes please live on because there is no finer black powder channel on the interwebs....thank you Capandball!
Keep em comming ✌️ always good to watch
Wonderful demonstration! 😁😁
Happy to help you make your great videos on Patreon!
Of course I'll help support your excellent videos.
That is an incredible rifle
That was a pretty nice group for 1796 tech.
Very good presentation.
I like how you give us little introduction and history behind these beautiful antiques, before you go and shoot. How many rounds you can shoot until fouling has to be removed?
I just NEED to buy one of these!!!
Love your stuff mate, keep it going.
Thanks for the history lesson and presentation sir!
enjoyed the presentation very much. thanks.
Thanks for another great video! Always loved jager flintlocks of all kinds. That one looks particularly handy and comfortable. After seeing what the Parker Hale carbines are capable I've often wondered why short rifled carbines weren't given more attention as specialist firearms by many countries.... I can understand that the decisions were made by people who were out of touch with modernization, and hindsight is 20/20, but still....
A very good shooting rifle.
The guns used wooden wads which improved the accuracy of non-threaded cannon. Does the same wad checking in to rifle?
Beautiful rifle
So cool, I'd LOVE to have one! Greetings from bavaria
So nice film I love your work.
Keep grinding love your content
Great videos, keep up the good work!
amazing ,just amazing
Given that I already ran an adblocker it seems high tide I support you, as you well deserve.
Regarding the changes on youtube just a slight correction: Restricted mode has nothing to do with advertisement. It's mostly meant for children and school networks. But a lot of gun-content was tagged as "non-advertiser friendly", which led to the decrease in ad-revenue. But I recommend checking the next few months, how the ad revenue behaves. I'm honestly expecting it to normalise soon. UA-cam has no interest in losing money, they are just having a knee-jerk reaction to the current backlash from in mainstream media...
Thanks for clarifying it. My revenues are way down so I had to act. If patreon works well, maybe it will be time to demonetize all my contents. It is a much clearer financing method. But we'll see.
Love those old weapons, hard to find good ones in the U.S.
great video
Great interesting video, fantastic rifle!!! Many thanks.
Great job !
Great video as always! :)
I have never seen rifling like that before. Can you do a video on it soon?
great video capandball. Record a videos about flintlocks.Greeting...
If you ever visit niagara falls area, please see Fort Niagara
i wouldn't worry about ads i pretty sure most people use ad blockers anyway
Yes, can be, but the revenue I made from advertising will still be missed from the family pocket. Since the new policy earnings are down to 25%...
Mention those products with your recommendation. I believe you can cause them an increase in sales and a finders fee(10%).
It's the advertisers they pulled out, and the advertisers left buy smaller and cheaper adds. Direct adds is still the best ad system so they will come back eventually. Good luck, your videos are good.
i know mate im pretty sure everyone doe by now
Incredible weapon for the era! Even today it would be a great addition to a collection of reproductions. Maybe you can talk your friends at Pedersoli firearms to add this one to their catalog.
was the length of this rifle covered?
If you slow it down to .25 speed you can actually freeze-frame the round balls mid-flight....Kinda cool.
beautiful gun. if only these guns were cheaper
Where did you get the replica Austrian helmet?
Beautifull gun....can you visit spain for any combat about napoleonic wars....Danke for sharing...Regards from Valencia...
Where would one find one of these for sale? I imagine not too many are available in the states.
I love the helmet!
Fantastic, 🙂
How do the Jager rifles compare with the British Baker rifle, or the American flintlock long rifles,. for accuracy and range? I get the impression from your videos that you and your fellow shooters are getting greater accuracy and range than those posting about contemporary flintlock rifles from the UK and America. Are you able to do a comparative shoot?
Do you you think finer powder will help with ignition? Love your videos 👍😊🇺🇸
Another wonderful video! How I wish I had a few bucks to spare, I'd gladly contribute. Never give up!

Good stuff.
you cane see the ball how slow this gun is
I want one now.
For what i know there wherent infantry helmets with the name francis II as they entered retirement after 1805 and the disolution of the hre meaning that only the remaining kaskets with the F.I where used
is this correct? sorry for commenting on a what is it? 5-6 year old video
@blecao Sorry to respond to a roughly 2 year old comment, but I’m pretty sure the old kaskets were still used by the cavalry regiments, more specifically the cuirassiers, dragoons, and chevaulegers, throughout the Napoleonic Wars. Also, the kaskets didn’t get entirely replaced for the infantry till 1809. So, as far as I know, it would make sense for there to be a kasket with an “F.I.I.” on it.
While still on use up to 1809 (1810 for final retirement) this where the kaskets still on use with units that required new being isued shakos instead but i will probably need to review the video to know what the heck i was commenting
Also thanks for the awnser and yes cavalry units used helmets well pass 1815 what is more i think they still used similar style of helmets up to the brothers war@Clueless-f1x
@blecao Your welcome! And on another note, judging from the colors of the straps and shirt, I'm guessing the guy is supposed to be dressed up as an Austrian jäger, though I'm guessing that was obvious due to the video literally being about a literal rifle used by the jägers, lol. Looking at some uniform plates from around the time the model of rifle was made (rifle model is 1796, plates are of Austrian soldiers in 1798), and I saw that the infantry soldiers did have "F.I.I." on their kaskets. Is that accurate or is it just a drawing mistake on the artists' part? The website that had the uniform plates that I saw was titled "The Austrian Army in 1798: the Uniform Plates of Tranquillo Mollo and Joseph George Mansfield," from the Napoleon Series.
please do a smith carbine video
Wonderful video mate and amazing to see the old girl in action. I will be keeping an eye out for one at auction now to add to my collection.
I have a beautiful condition Prussian Model 1834 Jäegerbüchse which was converted to percussion from an earlier Model 1810 Jäegerbüchse. It looks a lot bigger and heavier than your little lady, and I would love to see how she fires but I live in the UK so she just has to sit on the wall as I dont have a gun license.
An M1834! Cool stuff! Mine was converted to percussion as well, but I was bale to find and original flintlock to reconvert it.
Id love to see you do a vid on it mate as I would love to see one in action. I have to say its one of my favorite guns in my collection.
I have a couple of Prussian muskets so access to a flintlock isnt a problem, but it wouldnt feel right reconverting the old girl...I like the fact she has a history to her, complete with the unit stamps on the butt and various armory marks on the barrel and conversion date on the brass screwplate opposite the lock. I also love the swan neck safety arm on the percussion lock that covers the nipple. Simple and effective.
Im trying to find a sword bayonet for it now, but they are pretty rare over here in the UK. I keep an eye on the auction house in Germany I bought it from but no luck so far.....
Keep up the great work mate and hammer on through this UA-cam stupidity. Yours is one of my favorite gun history channels, and my mates in the Napoleonic tabletop wargaming community love your videos on Napoleonic guns and tactics, especially the AustroHungarian Empire vids.
The reconversion was easy, and I did not have to modify anything on the rifle. There was a drum screwed into the barrel. I just had to unscrew it and make a flash hole insert. And as I have a complete percussion and flintlock I can re-reconvert it anytime :)
Does Full30 make sense for you since you're in Hu?
That is an option a well, but full30 is still quite small, and being a gun related platform does not allow you to reach out for non shooters. But maybe in the future...
And maybe do more feature full content on full30 and redirect the audience from youtube there.
Also you have to either pay your way in, or be approved by their console.
You have to be invited onto full 30 to become an uploader.
Thats changing this year some time, but since it's beginning, you have had to of been invited to become a partner, for several very good reasons, but it is changing soon.
Does anyone know where I can get a powder horn with a spout like that? As well as the small brass charge cup he pours the powder into?
Beautiful rifle. Is the flintlock mechanism that you replaced the percussion lock with original? or is it a replica?
It was originally a flintlock, converted to percussion in 1840 in Amberg. Now I reconverted it with an original lock to flintlock. Maybe It worth showing how it was done in a later video.
You should chronograph these shots, might make for interesting data.
UA-cam in Australia is still putting adds in your UA-cam videos. Just had a betting add come up.
That's a beautiful rifle, how hard is it to find one for sale and how much do they usually go for, not cheap I'm sure 👌
Can you put ads on your website and link it to your videos? I use adblock anyway so I never click on youtube ad. But for your videos i would happily go to your website and click on 50 ad links a day :)
Great Video again. This is the type of Video you should show anti Gunners. A 221 year old, finely crafted piece of metal and wood that still easily hits at 50 meters. There simply is no way to dislike that...
And ur videos are quite interesting
