Great review on this board! Question: when you customize the lighting/macros/etc with the Nuphy software, does it have to stay running in the background, or can you save configuration profiles to the board directly and use them without the software running in the background?
What I don't get about NuPhy models is why the bottom row keys have sharp lower edge like the regular keys. It should be rounded, otherwise you can't really use your thumb to press them. This was the reason I had to file the lower edge on my first PC AT keyboard back in the previous century, and I was under the impression this kind of issue would not occur in the modern timeline.
So, not 100% important, but would be nice: I just build new PC on White case, and would be getting White keyboard (or at least I'd like metal (aluminum?) with white keycaps). HOw does the color of this keyboard fit? if anyone who has this can answer would be appreciated. I may still get a cream or white keyboard since its not important, but I am looking at other keyboards like Steelseries Apex 5 or 7 (7 wireless?) with white Prismcaps perhaps and a Snow or "Ghost" Aerox 3 mouse. This keyboard with something like the LOFREE Touch PBT WIrelss mouse though, would work. Just curious if anoyone has those, how is the color? WHat color did you get?
I have one of these, and it's an otherwise fine keyboard, with the downside that the USB C port... if you look at the cable the keyboard will turn off. The socket is typical of Nuphy: Really slack quality control. The pre-lubed switches are often only partly lubed and some of them will squeak. The board is not compatible with VIA or QMK, and Nuphy barely got their 0.1 software out the door after a delay of only a month or two, and they never actually update. so whatever functionality you get after they patch the inevitable bugs and virus warnings... that's the features your keyboard will have until you have to trash it because it fell apart and was EOL. There's also no keyboard layer to the customisation: It's just a single layer with no FN+ or shirft/ctrl for the macro keys. And if you live in an ISO layout country, Nuphy do not include any key caps for that. Like 4 cat themed keys and a hanful of test switches, sure, but yeah, no £ or € keys.

(also, I have the full size G915, and built new PC, so I want a non-black kb, but also, playing flight sims where I have HOTAS on desk, a smaller profile or TKL keyboard would work better (looked at getting a full size for daily use, like I use numpad for work all time, and TKL for gaming or even mini & numpad combo, but I'm thinking This with a numpad would work (even saw one that has OLED screen that functions as old school calculator woudl would be handy for work... ) but again, thanks for review.
Has anyone figured out how to take a Field 75 apart yet? nothing under the caps, nothing under the feet, i don't wanna start jamming stuff up in it to try and find release points for the case
@@TechBrollIt also looks really fragile. That handle, the switch, rotary knob and brightness knob are all primary suspects for falling off after a few years. I'd rather have a rock solid Halo. With the Halo96 extra keys it's possible to remap the whole numpad to game macros. Smart gamers should go that way.

The only key difference I guess is the wireless latency if there's a significant difference at all compared to the Halo series (it's hard to determine without proper tools) and probably the extra macro buttons. But other than that, I like the Halo series more as it has better overall value when it comes to price, features and performance
@@MyAmazingUsername having numpad macros is different to having a few more keys really close to your hand, which you can activate simultaneously while having your hand on wasd and spacebar. numpad keys for really important macros you need to use more often are too far away and nothing for quick use and so are not convenient for real gaming. maybe for non gaming stuff where you just need to toggle it or click it once.
i've been trying to get the console to work for a little bit and I haven't been able to does anyone know where I can download the latest software I know it's on the discord but I haven't seemed to be able to find it
what? those are a real game changer for actual gaming and pretty much the main selling part on this board compared to literally any other keyboard... because no other keyboard has them there. Like do you guys even play games? Or are you just typing and look at your keyboards? These are at the perfect location for your thumb. Which in either games like poe or any mmo's you rarely use your thumb/the spacebar, it's just one huge key wasted for nothing important or just one thing. I bet they can even be real handy for shooters, for example even leaning left and right without having to use Q and E and have to lift of your fingers from wasd somehow which impact your movement. To have 2-3 or even all 4 easily accessible keys right on your thumb area without having to try to reach far with the thumb is huge for extra casting skills when all your other usual keys on the board close to wasd are already used up (including extra mouse buttons/ or if you don't like to have too many stuff on your mouse which can effect your control of it). These 4 keys under the spacebar is the biggest selling point if you are a true gamer If not, you are not a gamer but more so just a keeb collector.

why on earth would you want rgb without shine through caps? a backlight's purpose is to allow you to identify keys in the dark. makes no sense
