It's really very simple. If you want to study physics and engineer go to MIT. But if you want to study history,humanities,arts or law go to Harvard. If you want the best place to study computer science, without a doubt go to Stanford. However all 3 of them are ranked in the top ten universities in the world .

Danyal A. Awesome!! I am planning on doing some sort of Pre-Med track! I actually scored a 33 on the act, but had a few friends with perfect scores that were waitlisted at Harvard. I will therefore say this: focus less on grades and testing and throw yourself into something you're passionate about, build a major research project, start an organization, something big that shows your drive! Once you're within the score and gap range, that's all you need! Then it's about what you're doing :)
Jesse Moore You didn't take both the SAT and the ACT? I thought it was a mandatory to take both for schools like Harvard. I have 4 years to convince these colleges that they need me! Hopefully I can get 1450+ on the SAT, 30+ on ACT, maintain a 4.0+ GPA, write a really convincing essay, and manage to do something unique and noteworthy! Anyways, you should look up which college is the better medical school, and which one is "easier"! Neither school would have accepted to you if they didn't they you were capable. Just go for whichever you like better, you don't have to think about it too much since both are incredible colleges, you can't be wrong with either one.

Hello! Good luck in MIT Class of 2022. I am going to apply to MIT Class 2025. My GPA is 3.3/4 and I am not able to take the SAT, because of the pandemic. However, I am searching to take the AP virtual. And my goal of IB is 39, but the bad thing is that I have Math Studies SL and Biology SL, that is why I enter groups of advanced math and biology to help me to improve and those teachers would do my recommendation letters. In summary, I am Peruvian and I grew up with the stories of our nation that gave me my identity, but then when I traveled to other regions I found out the poverty of our nation That is why I started to do social work in my country, but also I wanted to look for a solution. One day I was googling some ideas on the Internet until I found that many countries improved with the help of industrialization. I wanted to do a company, so I could help in the economy and give employees to Peruvians. Until one day in my last year of high school, our biology teacher told us to do an investigation for IB, I didn't know what to do until I saw some news about the emergency of climate change. That is the moment that I realized what I wanted to do, that day I explain to my teacher about a project that would photosynthesize the excess of CO2, but she didn't like the idea, because it was very complicated. Then, I realized that this process we have it in the plants. Then I found a project similar to another country, that helped me to plan it and present it to my high school to do it. My teacher for the first time she like the idea, and she was going to help me to do an internship at a University. But my high school turned its back from me because I was too young. Even though I continue the project, then I contact the scientific of Europe that helped me to plan it and they affirm that is viable and it would solve climate change. Also, something that I did was to create an NGO to teach students math and also I am teaching English to children. That is what I am working on and I am more than sure that I would get accepted to MIT and I will work my projects on their campus. What do you recommend me to do? Guys, I need someone to clarify things for me. Colleges want to see your test scores of your freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years. In my country, "freshman year of high school" is considered last year of MIDDLE SCHOOL. It is NOT CONSIDERED as a first year of high school. In 9th grade I was A KID and my grades were not THAT spectacular. I did not fail my classes, but my grades were "meh". I'm in 10th grade right now, and my grades are great, so when applying to Stanford, should I put my 9th grade test scores? (In 9th grade, the did NOT teach us high school's subjects)

Any graduate school applicant to these top schools will ignore this nonsense, about climate. You have to have good grades, but more importantly show that you have a good mind for research and scholarly work. What do you know about the subject? What do you know about the professors and their work? What original ideas do you have? There are thousands of students admitted from China, India and even Russia because they are top students in their field. And they never set foot on campus before coming. Don't write a letter to graduate school bragging about yourself. Write about how your proposal for research contributes to the field. I did my Ph.D. at a land grant university on a full scholarship and assistantship with no debt.
