Thank you your open and honest insight on this topic. I’ve been a Project Coordinator and Project Manager for several years without a certificate. I’m tired of not earning my worth and ready to take the next step. I’ve tried the coursera approach which I realized would not be the most effective for obvious reasons. Everything you’ve explained is exactly what I needed to hear. I’m a communicator, facilitator and organizer in my experience. I recently became a member of PMI organization, building my network, communicating with others in the field and ready to invest in passing the PMP (spoke it into existence last year) on my first try. Thanks for sharing these gems and I will continue to follow..
I am so glad you found value in the video! Definitely pursue the PMP, it is an absolute game changer. Especially since you have experience by title already. I’ll keep sharing as much information as I can and I thank you for following and supporting my channel. I am rooting for you!
@@anuconsulting Thank you for responding, I have hands-on real world experience (60 months), project software, agile methodologies, etc etc. I allowed complacency to hinder my career growth. I needed an intervention (your video) to shake things up and get me back on course. Again, thank you for your video, motivation and inspiration.
@@kenbcreated yes years of hands on experience, technical knowledge and understanding. I’m not saying the Coursera certification isn’t worth obtaining. It’s a great system, just not the path I’ve chosen.
You just dropped some serious knowledge about obtaining your PMP. Loved how you broke it down, and you had me cracking up on some parts. Wish I would've come across your page before. Anywho, I'm set to take my PMP on 1/24/24 at a Pearson facility (wish me luck). Unfortunately, it took longer than four weeks to get me to this point, more like two months. But I made sure to put my hours of studying in and took a massive amount of mock tests. Scoring 80 or better on many and some 70’s 😬. I feel I'm ready. Great Content and will share your page. Peace
Thank you for your kind words! Im excited to hear that you’re getting ready to test, that’s great. It sounds like you’ve been consistent in your preparation and that’s really what matters. I’m rooting for you! Keep me updated on how everything goes.
You are so fun, love your personality. Stumbled on your video the day before I took the exam - remembered your confidence point-passed it first time too! 🎉
I’m interested in joining the team and adding project management construction to my career. I’m currently in the dump truck world that delivers to the construction site. I’ve also requested to join group on skool
😊 Hi, I really enjoyed this video! I especially liked the options that you explained. However, in my situation I think it'll take me a considerable amount of time to get certified. I'm an older military veteran starting school to achieve my Associate's degree in business management, then move on to get a Bachelor's degree in PM. Hopefully during that time I will gain experience in leading projects (36 months; scope of work). I was so jazzed up by your video that I ordered the two books you suggested, they arrive Monday. Just having them around this early will serve to keep me motivated. Thanks again, and please keep dropping those gems!!! 🤗💜
I’m so excited to hear that you’re working towards a career in project management. You may already qualify though, without even knowing it. We’ve worked with several military veterans in the past and they’ve all been able to qualify for the pmp. Consider doing a free consultation with us, we’d love to learn more about your experience and see if you can skip the wait!
I want to take your course in March but i want to know if i have i have the pre qualifications to take the course how can talk with you or someone on your team

Why was the Coursera not worth it? Because you already have experience in the field?

I am falling in love! I will pass my exam in September 2024, and lay this victory at your feet.

One of the best PMP reviews and study prep discussions I have ever seen on UA-cam. Well done.
