The host was looking at bureaucracy in isolation and hence was moving in circles and kept coming back to same question of why it hasn't been able to deliver in Pakistan like in other countries. The guest tried to reiterate that bureaucracy can't be isolated from the society by pointing towards population and political issues. Yes the indigenous problems within the system were discussed at one point but the discussion could have been way more fruitful had the host been more open and more holistic in his approach. He could also have got more from the guest then. It felt more like a mainstream media interview. Css level talks should be more holistic and for that the host must be more trained, mature and open.

23:00, Sir Hassan has asserted that assembly members need not have a degree to make laws. I always adore your point of view but in this case, I would contradict. Unless a person is educated, one is not able to work in a strategic way. Thus, a proper qualification system should also be developed for politicians. They must clear a test in order to get eligible to contest elections.

I think the whole discussion is on "kya huna chahiye" ,"ye nahi hu rha" but both of them ignored a very simple fact , what CAN we do and what is NEEDED! No initiative, no will to rethink, reskill and revamp ourselves with the changing times. No strategic thinking, just firefighting the scenarios instead of doing something for the cause that causes the fires at the first place. A firm stance on rule of law is necessary but we as people don't want it. This system seems to be resistive to disruption instead of embracing it. Civil services through out the performing world have work ethics more firm and strong than the private sector but here the work ethics are down the drain, the responsibility is not there. The ownership is missing! Make all the excuses but at the end, the system is aging when it needs reinvigorated reskilling and will!

A bureaucrat is defending the system and is unable to present any critical analysis towards improvement or suggest changes in the system for improvement.
Enabling environment make them to choose for serving the people/country or siding with politicians and make money & establish their families abroad.
If bureaucracy works honestly the country would progress but this is a void. The reasons must be many but major one is the political influence and postings within days if they do not come up/aligne with the local politicians/ministers. So political dependance of bureaucracy must be finished on the lines of Judiciary and Army.
That would help bureaucracy work independently and resist unlawful practics by the politicians. There must be separate system of checks and accountability for the bureaucracy but they must be free of political wheeling dealing.

Off course a assembly member must have qualified... But unfortunately they are sitting in assemblies with no degrees.. and bureaucracy forced to work under them

A short answer to the host for all his questions, "Beggars can't be choosers"
If you will try to make an enabling environment, then a BLACK VIGO will come and will give you an enabling environment of disappearance.

Interview was good but unfortunately, guest/his mindset of status quo & not a person to reform. Only population is not an issue. Where is India & China? The world's top two countries in terms of population?? The host should have ask & give example.

Host is immature, always starting his question with لیکن، تو which is kind of childish and it is not a productive conversation. He should open his mind and try to understand what he is saying and should listen. He is just thinking what he would ask while he is answering his question. He should prepare himself before this interview.

Thank you for your feedback. The reason I am starting my questions with IFs and Buts is because we are trying to reach the root of the problem. The questions are always prepared alongwith some extempore ones. If I just agree with the guest it creates what is known as an "echo chamber". That stops the learning process.
