ABOUT IRON MAIDEN:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of six decades they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’ which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

My neighbors liked this so much they invited the police to listen
did they also bring the beer keg?
Gold.. Well done sir.
Did the police sacrifice the neighbors to Satan? If not then they weren't really listening to the music.
Hey chip davis that was classic bro.
Good job xD
I left alone, my mind was blank
I needed time to think
To get the memories from my mind
What did I see? Can I believe?
That what I saw that night was real and not just fantasy?
Just what I saw in my old dreams
Were they reflections of my warped mind staring back at me?
'Cause in my dreams it's always there
The evil face that twists my mind and brings me to despair
Night was black, was no use holding back
'Cause I just had to see, was someone watching me?
In the mist, dark figures move and twist
Was all this for real or just some kind of Hell?
Six six six, the number of the beast
Hell and fire was spawned to be released
Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised
As they start to cry, hands held to the sky
In the night, the fires are burning bright
The ritual has begun, Satan's work is done
Six six six, the number of the beast
Sacrifice is going on tonight
This can't go on, I must inform the law
Can this still be real, or just some crazy dream?
But I feel drawn towards the chanting hordes
Seem to mesmerize, can't avoid their eyes
Six six six, the number of the beast
Six six six, the one for you and me
I'm coming back, I will return
And I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn
I have the fire, I have the force
I have the power to make my evil take its course
Did you take those lyrics in? It's not just a song, it's what lies in store for you. Seek JESUS while you can. When you're done you're done. Cooked as in more than well done. Forever in this state of perpetual misery. Sounds freakin great, right?

Fun fact: the scream bruce dickinson lets out in the intro of the song is a result of the producer constantly having them do different takes, and in this one bruce was so fed up he let out a howl with so much frustration pushing it he has never been able to properly recreate it.
Yeah, Martin Birch got him to keep singing the first two lines for about four hours (even though he actually stopped recording after about the 3rd take lol) to get Bruce pissed off. He was so frustrated he was throwing chairs around the room and stuff. Eventually it was time for the scream and there was no need for a second take there!
@@User-jk8wq definitely well worth pissing him off lol
When you're so pissed off that you made a masterpiece

I grew up in this era, and when this album came out it scared the crap out of 95% of the people I knew. I was awe struck. I never.understood the artistic brilliance of Iron Maiden until recently. As a baby Christian at the time this song was released, I was too freaked out by this song. But I've come to recognize Iron Maiden as master storytellers through their music.
That's all it is, and excellent musicians.
They're not just masters storytellers, they're master musicians, master songwriters and master showmen.
lol
Bill, shame on you. but glad you caught up. ;-)
So are you a Christian or not?
Saw them in Calgary September 28, 2023. Master musicians….Murray’s solos were mind blowing and he’s 67 years young. Dickinson can still kill on vocals. Best concert ever and I’ve been to hundreds!,
Being from the era he is from he had to learn his craft. I'm not too surprised about his ability to sing still being top notch. Now you just have to look good and computers do the rest, no soul in music anymore.
Some Bible Puncher came to our school and said that if you listen to Iron Maiden for more than 3 minutes you will be possessed by demon spirit's - I'll drink to that!!!
Johannes de Wet I've been listening to them for 33 years & Fuck all happened 🤣
That's hilarious
Lmao! Listened this for years! Why i'm not possessed?
Bruce is a devout Christian. How could he say that?
Johannes de Wet what type of bs 😂😂
It's not fair my parents got to grow up with this and I've got Cardi B
Nobody forces you to listen to cardi b. Shut the fuck up.
Even though you're not a boomer you spread the boomer mindset of "hu today's music sucks, the old music was better"
Bitch have you listened to what was the most popular music back then? It sucked too. Mainstream music always sucked and will always suck. But there's always good contemporary music out there.
Cheap Tactics u gotta chill lmfao
@@lethimburn I'm just tired of fucking dumbasses with that argument.

This classic album turned 40 years old today on March the 22nd 2022! And it's STILL as amazing today as it was 40 years ago!!! 🤘🤘
You got to be shitting me, I’m just 3 years older than this album, it’s been out as long as Iv been alive it seems impossible when you really think about it that they could create such unique still sounding modern heavy metal as it sounds as new today as it always has done to me it still sounds new & fresh it amazes me they created something that (it’s hard to explain) it sounds as if it had only been released at most 20 years ago if that, the style & sound is still used today in heavy metal, I remember in 90’s my best mate getting me into these I was into Oasis, Travis. Ocean Colour Scene. Paul Weller. Blur. The Verve. Charlatans. The Seahorses. James. Lightning Seeds. Cast. Suede. Space. Republica. Cardigans. Garbage. Catatonia. The Corrs. The Cranberries. Sheryl Crow. Alanis Morrisette. The Bluetones. The Eels. Radiohead. Manic Street Preachers. Pink Floyd. The Who. The Hollies. The Beatles. Then my mate turning me on to this, it opened my mind and told me anything was possible if you had enough passion but I struggled to find my voice back then trying to write songs to stuff he would cine up with in guitar as my voice couldn’t do metal and I’m ok with that, would I love to write metal, he’ll yes but my voice is more suited to punk/blur style/Lynyrd Skynyrd rock ballads so at least he gave me hunger to learn guitar through these bands as I wanted to write riffs like this but in my key and less metal for my voice and more rock ballad proving that you really do have to have, one hell of a voice in a natural high key, mine is more suited to key of C & G where as metal like this your voice naturally needs to be in A or D and I remember seeing an article where along with Manic Street Preachers Iron Maiden telling folk, young writers, if you need guitar lessons give up now, so I taught myself after work at ASDA I’d go back to my fiancés at time (Michelle) and just fiddle with two chords at tgst time I didn’t even know they were called chords but from fiddling in trying out new ideas just from two chords finger licking to strumming I bought iron maiden, Metallica (as I fucking adored Reloaded) tablature books and soon it just came natural to me like s duck to water I couldn’t believe it (the lad who gave his first electric red fender away Christmas box at about 10 years old away for a Sega Master System lol) to being able to play these songs then turned to Beatles as it was obvious my voice wouldn’t fit with Key of A power chords then quickly formed a band, started writing epic tunes, Punk/Suede style Rock ballads to having two lads that were just part timers, they only ever wanted to be part timers so when we got signed, whilst playing at local fair, they bloody freaked out and did not want to be in full time band as they were nurses in training and thats how they turned out (I say good for them, they got England through a Pandemic) but left us up shit creek withoot a bloody paddle, so I turned out to writing songs for other bands and found out I was brilliant, ace, epic at hearing just half of a sing by a band to be inspired to write even better songs for tgen I only needed to hear their style a little so I could go from country & western to Pink Floyd to Epic Rick ballads, the easiest style to write to for me was Mumford & Sons Style don’t know if that’s because my actual family name my ancestors came from Scotland and I only live about 25 miles from Border but point I’m getting at is, if you want to be an epic songwriter just because you can’t sing to a certain style or maybe you struggle to understand their style, listen to ss fkn many different styles as you can because then when your humming away to a sing your writing on guitar, lyrics will pop out the air from nowhere leaving you thinking I didn’t just write that, it’s impossible, I couldn’t have come up with those lyrics, well it is, listen to as many styles as you actually love, if you love it, listen to it I love everything from The Carpenters, 60’s, 70’s to Gloria Estefan to Metallica and Pearl Jam to Oasis to Travis to Iron Maiden they gave me hunger to learn guitar so I could write epic riffs, intro riffs, chorus riffs, bridge riffs etc. if you love it, blast it and fkn live it, as my motto I have tattooed on my arm says on a cross,
Imagine it
Dream it
Believe it
Live it
@@christianlennon714 Wow. That was a very long comment. But it's great that Iron Maiden made you start writing songs. They've inspired so many people all over the world for over 4 decades and I hope they continue to inspire people long after they're gone.
Oshe zy!!! Icónico!

The band that scared the shit out of '80s parents. \m/
IndustrialBaking Complex Many melodies can be finded here :O
my father listen this with me and my mother rans away
First time I ever heard Maiden was when this came out and I was 14. Borrowed the album from a buddy, then got it for Christmas. My Mom, being a cautious parent, but still young enough at 32, kept an open mind and listened to it while reading the lyrics. She may not have liked the music much but she realized it wasn't some attempt by a band to take over our minds and lead us towards Satanism! My first concert was Maiden on the Powerslave World Slavery tour, with a bonus of Twisted Sister opening for them! Talk about an awesome first concert!
My dad introduced me to the whole metal scene so....but yeah my mom's still scared.
Whene I was 5 I listened too Iron Maiden and didn't be scared
True story, I was 9 years old and was in Sam Goody when I saw this album cover. I was with my friend and his Mom. I HAD TO BUY IT. Came home and played the tape. After hearing this song, I screamed for my Mom to come Listen to the intro. As she listened, she pulls the tape out and smashes it on the ground and said this is devil's music!! After hours of crying, I knew Iron Maiden was my band for life!!! This was in 1985, and to this day they still blow my mind. Pantera is a close second!!
The Poster of this Album was Scary 2 my Nephew Waaaay bak when lol's

@@bradleywilliams2401 yeah, it was !! That's why I got it!! Lol!!
this reminds me of my mom, who told me that I must be sick to listen to this kind of music xd
@@pyrettablaze25 haha!!! Now I hear what my kids are listening to, and think they're sick!! Lol
Your mother was wrong to do that. I know because my mom did it. I never shared another personal favorite with her ever again after that. She is 80, blind and all alone now. It's pretty sad.
Metal heads must have went bat shit crazy when this video hit 6,666,666 views...
6 is the number of a man as 7 is perfection unfathomable.

I personally think that when the video got to those numbers youtube should have locked the number in place so that it can't go higher
Absolutely, I'll drink my beer out of a goat skull

So no one is talking about Godzilla in the video??? Okay.

Godzilla rocks, duh.

I never saw this video before so it shocked me for a sec seeing the Big G here! XD
My cat used to listen to this song....no she didn't grow up to become a lioness but is a fan of iron maiden now...thats sufficient for now.
Has she started a cover band? Lion Maiden, maybe?
Well, I named my cat Eddie and since the album depicts Satan controlling Eddie, but Eddie actually controlling Satan, it's accurate.
My two cats love this song big time when I play it they wrestle and but they love each other but they wrestle they're two boys one of them was 13 and one of them was 12 I'm talking about years old
A black cat? A black cat called 'bubbles' ? would that be short for beelzebubbles?

Was listening to the audiobook of Bruces autobiography, there it had that, Martin Birch the producer made Bruce sing the first two lines all day and night until it was perfected. By then, Bruce was throwing furniture against the studio walls in frustration. Haha.
Bruce is truly one of the greatest metal singers of all time... those screams and notes he reaches...
nice troll :D really thought for a second it was a real fly
nuller87 yep. Bruce and dio are my favs:D
nuller87 he the only one who can actually get u to picture what is happening when he sings
Yeah. And Bruce is the ONLY one, who can sing in a really powerful voice, have a really wide range and let out those bloodcurdling epic screams!!! Bruce is truly the greatest vocalist of all time!!! 🤘🤘

Another amazing fact is, as if Bruce Dickenson's operatic metal singing style isn't enough. He's also the Captain
