I loved how she said having a small venue is not overwhelming and affordable to alot of people. Looking to purchase land in Alabama after my military retirement in 2-3 years. Thanks for sharing and I've already reached out to Bonnie and subscribed to her newsletters and emails 💙💜❤🙏🏿
Thank you for sharing! We currently own a restaurant franchise. A venue business is the next logical step for us. A little more challenging than a restaurant but with even greater rewards! We plan to buy a commercially zoned property since living where you own your business is one of the smartest investments. Subscribed!
I own 18 acres, all cleared land. Its 11 miles from North Myrtle Beach SC. I have seriously been thinking about doing a wedding venue business after I retire from the Military in 5 years. Would love to connect with someone about this.
Congrats Chance! We're almost in the same boat. I'm in Alabama and plan to retire from the military in 2 years and want to start a venue out here near the base
Go to the county, check zoning first! Then find out about noise ordinances and I would run a simple test by getting a Db meter, play a stereo at a know Db from the proposed location then drive to your nearest neighbor and take a reading. I would use a starting Db of 120.
I am currently renting tables, chairs, tents, linen, props, setting up dessert tables for all occasions, and more to afford a venue next year. I have been documenting it on my UA-cam channel. It's hard work, but I know it will pay off in the end.
My parents once looked into this idea for a business, and I'm starting to like the idea too. Not to mention that we already have empty land to build on; it would be a matter of zoning and having the money to build at this point, and whether my family would be willing to do this. The biggest difference between their idea and my idea would be that I'd desire a ballroom-style space with a stage (nothing overly fancy). I have a special place in my heart for the performing arts and I would like something that could also double as a performance venue; this would also make the facility more flexible. I'd probably want to start with the ballroom and stage combination, with restrooms and a small backstage dressing room, but make the facility expandable (upon becoming profitable) and later add an on-site kitchen (though perhaps I need to start with this from the get-go?), group breakout rooms, a more sophisticated lighting/sound/projection system, and perhaps retractable seating (to allow for a more auditorium-style setup for performances).
I didn't know about the alcohol 😲 my family and friends sometimes use my house for bday party or any party.. they bring alcohol or we offer alcohol.. whoaw😓 i need to watch out

How do you create contracts for when your clients pay you? Or if they want a payment plan and when you require a deposit? Do we have to see an attorney for that or can we create our own contract?
