She's talking about Apple trying to shift 18% of its production to India by 2025. By 2025, palki would be talking about why Apple failed to turn India as its manufacturing base. She was telling everyone back in 2020 that 20,000 companies will move out of China, only to ask everyone why companies couldn't decouple from China late last year

Apple isn't making one country it's manufacturing base, they are keeping their options open and there would be a limit on how much apple expands. Don't talk as if you know everything
Companies have moved out of China and the country has seen its manufacturing activity shrink, there's no data out there that proves otherwise. China's manufacturing PMI is below 50, along with Vietnam. Those 20000 companies need not always enter India, there isn't a surety on this
Decoupling doesn't happen overnight, it happens when companies successfully rebuilt supply chains in new companies, pushing China aside. You lack understanding of economics

If foreign factories moved out of China a decade ago, it would be devastating for China. NOT so today. Foreign entities only make up 10% of China's exports as of today. In other words, Chinese companies are now the major contributor of China's exports. Take Samsung for example, it shifted its production out of China since 2016 but today, Chinese smartphone brands account for 67% of global sales.

It will be naive to even ask if India can become the next China. But it will be wise to say when will China replace US no. 1 position. The global shift from US to China have been moving rather fast in terms of economy, military, Tech,Space exploration and many more. Countries are now accepting China as their preferred partner as oppose to US. However, there are no clear encouraging signs of india taking the cue from China even in the manufacturing. On the contrary, a handful of Tech companies who bet on India after shifting from China are facing serious problems due to production workers, skills, working conditions, govt investment schemes that did not payout and many more. Just to name Apple,Foxconn,Xiaomi,BYD and others. China built a $1.3bil coal plant, only to make a loss due to payment default. All in all, India blew their chance.

The fact that the same question is being asked for 3-4 years already answers the question. India, a weill know place a "grave for multinational bussiness" is unable to capture considerable amount of manufacturing moving out of China. South East Asian countries are the best location as companies move outside China and that is where the factories are moving. There is just too much politics involved in doing business in India.

For example the comac919 that they call their "first home grown" commercial jet they are so proud of is made up of over 80% parts from the west. Now that the entire civilized world is decoupling from them, they will be cut off from all these components, not just chips. Some 30 years, these US companies moved to China because of lower cost in China then. I fit out Dell Computer's first factory in Xiamen, China. Many Taiwanese companies also moved their factories to China because of lower cost.
After 30-40 years of economic growth, China had moved up the manufacturing food chain. Its labour cost is no longer competitive even after accounting for manufacturing efficiency. The labour intensive and assembly type of manufacturing industry profit margin is very low. Something like 5%. China is looking for industries and manufacturing work that provide better return and profit. India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, etc can have those low profit margin industries.
By the way, India has the unflattering nickname of "GRAVEYARD OF FOREIGN COMPANIES". Foreign companies are leaving India in droves because of poor business environment and low worker quality.

India and China are only three people apart. For India to become the world's factory, it needs these three individuals.
Firstly, an Indian version of Qin Shi Huang is needed to unify India culturally and linguistically, establishing centralized authority.
Secondly, an Indian version of Mao Zedong is required to redistribute land to farmers and unleash productive forces.
Lastly, an Indian version of Deng Xiaoping is necessary to lead strong reforms and opening up, adopting the approach of "it doesn't matter if the cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice."

In fact, China is still the world's top two foreign investment destinations.
Have you ever wondered why foreign investors choose to invest in a place like China and why they are reluctant to leave? It's because China offers them an environment where they can profit and thrive. Few places in the world possess such a combination of high intelligence, strong work ethic, and social stability like China does.
China's impressive growth and development are not just a result of low labor costs but are driven by the hard work and intelligence of its people. The country's stability provides a secure and conducive atmosphere for businesses to flourish. As a global leader in various industries, China continues to attract investments from around the world.
So, when you think about the reasons behind China's success and its appeal to foreign investors, remember the blend of intelligence, hard work, and social stability that make it such an attractive destination.

India was once the world's largest exporter of wigs but lost that position 5 years ago, with millions of Indians in this sector out of work as a result. Currently at No.4! The reason, India imposed tariffs on imported Chinese chemicals needed in this industry. China could literally kill India's manufacturing industry and bring massive unemployment to India.

China recorded an annual average growth rate of 9.9% from 1980 all the way to 2015. With a record high of 14.7% growth rate in 2014 alone! Only now is India trying to copy Chinese success model, at a time of trade protectionism and worse, AI assisted automation in manufacturing. The biggest problem for Indians is their integrity. They are unpunctual, unfaithful and even deprive foreign companies of their legitimate property through magical laws. These are all problems in India. The biggest problem is that India adopts high-standard legislation, universal law enforcement and selective law enforcement. This kind of bureaucratic and legal problems is one of the problems. The third is that India's so-called democracy is a joke. If we change a political party in recent years, how can we achieve concerted development if each party suppresses others for its own interests. Chinese society has evolved for thousands of years through the feudal stage, and this society is well adapted to centralization and elite rule. China's consistent Confucian culture has created the idea of great unity, and great men want to live in peace. Do you see what kind of cultural development in modern society besides the Anglo-Saxons is best suited to industrialization? The answer is Confucian culture that includes Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan, and, of course, China. Confucian culture keeps people in the middle of the mean, makes people benevolent and just, and allows people to coexist peacefully and share benefits. What has India done? Modi came to power on the basis of Hinduism. He believes that Muslims are heretics and do not give them citizenship. Do you think these people are really not Indians? When you don't have a little tolerance, how can you unite the people of the whole country for common development and prosperity? By the way, do you know what is happening in China and Vietnam? It is Vietnam's recent extremely high temperature that leads to a shortage of industrial production, while China's Guangxi high-voltage cable keeps transmitting electricity to Vietnam. China has not suppressed Vietnam's industrial production because of Vietnam in difficult times, because he knows that in today's globalization, Vietnam's development is beneficial to everyone, and what is India doing? Does India have a good relationship with the neighboring country? Indians should think about this problem carefully.

Some facts about China's 🇨🇳 Belt and Road Initiative:
    - As of January 2023, 151 countries were signed up to the BRI.
    - The idea of BRI as a debt trap diplomacy was first created by an Indian 🇮🇳 think tank, coined by Indian🐂 academic Brahma🙋🏿‍♂️ Chellaney in 2017 to describe what he called China's "predatory lending practices", which "overwhelm poor countries with unsustainable loans and force them to cede strategic leverage to China".
    - The irony is, India 🇮🇳 is a member of China's Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank AIIB, which makes India technically a full member of China's BRI in all but name. Receiving tens of billions worth of infrastructure funding in India from this bank alone.
    - Indians say this, do that.

Please learn some lessons from economists. I guess, you can understand a bit of accountancy. China is a bankrupt country and you don't know yet. You know assets and liabilities in a balance sheet. China's main assets are its infrastructure and real estates. The real estate value was artificially inflated by setting up the land prices by government, not by market forces. The average house price to income ratio is 32.75. That means, a person needs to put all his 32.75 years of income to fully own a home without eating, without cloths, etc. For the US, the ratio is 4.1. For UK, the ratio is 8.3, for India, it is 11.4.
Anyway, the artificially inflated real estate is now collapsing making each households has more liabilities than asset as the mortgage loan is much higher the real value of the property they own. China is living in borrowed time and shifting this burden to the next generation.
Anyway, as a whole, the assets of the country are artificially inflated and the liabilities such as its borrowings are hidden at various form. The net asset for the country is already negative and it is a matter of time, the country will bankrupt.
Next, China builds the infrastructure on heavily borrowed money without the assessment feasibility of the infrastructures. The return on investment are negative in these projects. However, China still build these infrastructures just to inflate the GDP.
Next, China publish faked gdp data. China's Economy is 60% Smaller Than You Think

India has foreign military bases on its soil ? That's new to me. But just to clarify : even before the USSR fell, West Germany was the first economy in the EEC . During the Cold War, oil and gas were exported to Europe. Yes, Germany did invest heavily in russia after that. After Fukushima, they decided to close the nuclear plants. Which, imo is good. But still keep relying on the russian gas and coal. It's counterintuitive, but on renewables, they are very much in advance. As China. The Nord Stream was bound to be a disaster. Btw, there's gas that flows from russia to Hungary and a few other countries through Ukraine ! India buys oil cheap, 30% discount, refines it, and sells it to Europe at market prices. China keeps it for itself because they need to.

"The Nord Stream was bound to be a disaster." for the USA and that's why they got it blown. Cheap Russian energy + strong German industry = big danger for the USA supremacy.
"India buys oil cheap, 30% discount, refines it, and sells it to Europe at market prices." European transportation relies significantly on diesel imported from India, and India imported Russian oil to refine it and produce that diesel. @@__daddy__ keeping Tesla aside, there is an increase of 174% in ev sales in india 4,55,733 EV's were sold in FY22 alone. No one wants to buy imported cars as they would cost twice the actual price of the cars. And moreover only 312 foreign companies entering india after 2014 is a blatant lie. The figure 2,783 foreign companies leaving india after 2014 was given by piyush goyal in the parliament and he himself has said in the same statement that 10,756 companies have entered india ever since.

India is the next choice! But due to our people selfishness, politicians greed and oppression dirty politics, such visions cannot achieve. We did miss this opportunity in 1980’s. Now we will miss again. Brazil, Vietnam and Indonesia will get chances from our miss.

It is nice to see that many company leaving China.
India has to reap the situation towards our gain.
This can be done only if we create a peaceful environment in India to lure the foreign investors in India.
India can do it. The question is whether India is ready to make India a peaceful place for investments?

Bro! I think you are living in 90's(living under the rock). I live in a small village of uttar pradesh where i get the electricity for 10 to 12 hours without any powercut. It seems to be a dream back in 2013 where we didn't have a electricity lines , used to depend on kerosene oil to get some light at night and to get some air we used to sit under the tree .

For a country to tailor its future on the needs of foreign industries an investors instead of doing long term planning for self-sufficiency is a way to loose sovereignty and economic stability. Is like growing up using clutches without doing enough physical therapy. Which is not to deny an interdependent global economy, but to realize that is necessary to draw a line of common sense autonomy. The Western Powers view of world trade an manufacturing has a very different perspective and interests than countries in Asia who are the ones that provide cheap labor to the West. I think that people in Asia deserve a better life and future than to be the cheap labor pool of the Western powers, and I have a feeling that this trend is on its way out, because people everywhere wants and deserves a better life than the one available through being the cheapest labor destination. Those are just arrangements among the elites. Finally, both China and India have enough science, technology and educated population to design a future not subservient to the needs of Western corporations; and they better, because the Western Powers are in decline and are going through a significant cultural crisis that make them unreliable partners. Is the wrong historical period to mimic or depend on the West.
