I wanted to play Halo when I was younger, but my parents never allowed me to play violent games til not long ago. When I was watching this video of Halo 3 development, I was getting depressed hearing at the end every Halo UA-camrs nostalgic memories playing Halo 3 servers and making new friends and how it made them what they are. I wanted to cry, especially after I heard about the Xbox 360 servers shutting down. It's like a part of my childhood was taken away that I could have had. I play MCC, but not knowing what it was like playing 360 servers just makes me sad. It's something I'll never get a chance to get back. I'm happy playing MCC, but it will probably never be the same as playing on 360.
I still play Halo 3 online in the Master Chief collection with my friends. We played all the time back in high school and still play a couple times a week so many years later.
You will never have as much fun in your life as you did when you were 12. I’m so thankful I made them with my friends on Halo 3. I’m eternally grateful I can appreciate this game, I hope I can witness my future kids create memories on a game they love one day.
This is such a bittersweet feeling; I feel senses of sadness and loneliness knowing that those amazing days are gone, yet at the same time, incredibly joyous for being able to enjoy so many aspects of one of the world’s greatest games. Man do I miss this.
I remember growing up on the ps2. When we finally got an xbox 360, and it came with halo 3, the graphics absolutely blew my mind. I had never seen anything so realistic before, such a great game
This is a masterpiece. I mean Halo 3 for sure is but here I'm talking about your video. Amazing work and the comments from the other peoples in the community made me drop a tear ;')
Upon replaying the campaigns of the original trilogy, Halo 3 is the only one that held up. It just sucks reading about the third of the game’s content that was removed.
I mean it totally comes down to preference but • I think 2's campaign holds up aside from the balance • CE's campaign can get repetitive with its level design but the gunplay is amazing That said, Halo 3 is still the best. And I agree that the cut content woulda been great to see
@@Matanumi have you played the game since you were 11? I liked it when I was younger, but it just doesn’t hold up anymore. Playing through it feels like a chore.
I feel like I’m going to end up watching this video at least 2-3 times a year. Such a nostalgia trip. All the voice testimonials from the other UA-cam guys is just such a cherry on top to this amazing capture of an absolutely historical game and gaming company. Thank you for this 🤘🏻🙌🏻
This video is so damn good. You brought so many memories of mine. During the part where all the youtubers where recounting their memories, I got a huge wave of nostalgia and literally started crying. I remembered all the times me and my buds would hop on halo 3, ODST or Reach, staying up all night playing custom games or role playing or making maps together. You made me remember why I love halo so much, it’s not the lore or the music or the gameplay, it’s the friends I made along the way. Thank you so much for making this video and bringing me back to the first time I played halo
The section of you guys reminiscing really humbled me, reminding me of those very same memories I shares with my peers. No game or experience gave me what Bungie and friends did with Halo 3. For a moment, I was all the way back in 2007. What a lovely winter that was. Thank you for that
This is one reason why Halo is loved, people can remember it, bring some of the best times in their lives, now with everything in the world it makes me want to give up until I saw halo 3 sitting on the shelf, I picked up and started playing it remembering the good times I had with my father. This almost brings me to tears knowing that online was shut down not to long ago and I never got the time to play online, with friends but now I'm lonely sitting here remembering good times with my family, and missing the friendships that never lasted
I am so beyond glad I got to experience this beautiful game when I was younger. 2007-2010 were genuinely the best years for gaming ever Let me also add that this video is absolutely amazing, The documentary style takes a tremendous amount of work and I thank you for this SomeToken. I try to explain to my girlfriend a lot how much Halo 3 affected my life, she didn't understand until I was so emotional over this game until I showed her this video. Halo 3 touched my life in a way I cannot explain with words, And i know a lot of you feel the same. Thank you all for being there, Thank you all for experiencing this beautiful game and making the community so amazing. Because of all of you I have some of the best childhood memories i could ever ask for. Live on Halo 3
Holy shit, pure nostalgia at the part where everyone is sharing their halo memories. My most fond memory of Halo 3 was breaking my hand in the 8th grade (2008) and not giving up video games. Played a game of shotty snipers and got a Killtrocity with my friends. The best of times.
Excellent video, your sense of humor is amazing, as is your articulation of the content. Well edited, pretty well timed, and the inclusion of other youtubers was brilliant; loved their testimonies. Thanks Token, this was a great reflection
This video was incredibly impressive and deserves way more views. I remember waiting all day through school on launch day too and as soon as I was out I ran to Gamestop picked up my copy and went home and stayed up the whole night finishing the fight.
Thank you for this video! I actually got quite emotional towards the end remembering the impact that it had on me. Me and my brother never bonded more than we did when playing Halo 3 every single night. He bought me my own Xbox 360 so we could play online together rather than split screening. A party at a friends house wasn't complete with Halo 3. I made a ton friends on Halo 3. I remember back when we only had the one xbox and we split screening the campaign. The xbox got the ring of death halfway through Cortana and we had to wait to finish the campaign. Alot of good memories.
This was the game that inspired me to pursue a career in gaming. Some of the greatest memories of my life were made sitting in my room as a kid playing this game with friends online till the next morning! That reminiscing portion of the video really gave me so much feels!
Halo 3 was my first game on 360 and I simply fell in love. I still remember it fondly and wonderfully and I will never forget that no other game gave me and my friends as much joy and laughter as it did. Halo 3 is the best forever.
The thing about halo I find so profound and enjoyable for me is I don't have to be Max sweaty to impact my team in a positive way it's about power weapons and map control example I could deny the other team a power weapon and die and it actually affects my team in a good way you could be a -kd player and still make a play also they always tell a good story
I’ve played Halo ever since CE as a kid. I still remember the day 3 came out. Sitting at school waiting for the bell to ring to sprint to my buddies house where me and about 6 of my friends all got together with our game fuel and played through the whole campaign, plus multiplier, all night into the next afternoon. Hands down will always be my favorite game and some of my fondest memories.
Your retrospectives are so good man. I remember first playing 3 at my friend Brendan's house. I'd played some CE at a friend's house and I really loved the MP on 2 for Vista. I was blown away at 3's campaign I'd never played a game so bombastic. I remember being shit scared of the flood seeing those transformation animations and being in a dark basement playing it. I didn't get my own 360 till a couple years later and I got AC2 and Halo 3 with it and was so happy. I ended up dropping my xbl silver account from H2 Vista and making a new one and still use that screen name on basically everything. Honestly man it feels like a different time at least for me. I'm still friends with guys across the world I used to play 3 with and I talk to them almost daily...
I thought I was looking at some Netflix documentary. THANK YOU for making this kind of content, this has higher quality than many TV shows. I felt so embraced by what this video transmits, thanks my man. Thanks. 😌
Fantastic video! This game was so important to so many people, myself included. I've been playing so much MCC on PC recently and I just wanna go rush and play some more now :)
First of all, great narration and pacing. There are quite a few retrospective videos with other creators who speak way too fast and pretty much no silence, leaving zero room to think and digest the information, many seem in a hurry to cram as much information possible without actually trying to make sure the viewer is getting all that. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I don't feel like I need to watch at 0.75 speed or drink a can of red bull to follow along lol. Halo 3 means so much to me, so many weekends with my brother playing social slayer and making friends. It really helped us practice our English. I always sucked at the game but that didn't matter to me, I still had fun. My friends invited my brother to complete the legendary campaign achievement (I don't remember the name), but unfortunately for them I was always playing alongside my brother, so they didn't have much of a choice but to let me play, and it took FOREVER to complete. I'm sure they were thinking of kicking me out lol, I don't blame them, but we still completed it, so I was like an extra difficulty level.
Even as a solo player I have nothing but fun & fond memories playing Halo & definitely Halo 3 even if it took a while to get my own copy. I normally have a terrible memory but the day I was able to play Halo 3 for the first time is something I shall never forget. Amazing work, brought back many things I'd forgotten.
Nice. Brought back many fond memories for me too.

Did not expect a Halo 3 video to give me watery eyes. Well done man.
There’s a lot more to come brother
Dude Halo was my whole middle school and high school. Playing jenga, fat kid, collecting skulls, everything! Best game ever
I remember growing up on the ps2. When we finally got an xbox 360, and it came with halo 3, the graphics absolutely blew my mind. I had never seen anything so realistic before, such a great game

Your videos are masterpieces, all the research, the editing, the narration and so on. Thanks for your work and please never stop
Glad you enjoyed, thank you!
I remember downloading the Halo 3 announcement trailer on my 360 and it taking forever to finish then watching it on a 100 pound 26 inch HDTV
Is that the weight of the TV or it's cost, Haha luls, those were the days man
This is a masterpiece. I mean Halo 3 for sure is but here I'm talking about your video.
Amazing work and the comments from the other peoples in the community made me drop a tear ;')
So many chills and so many memories. Love this game and the community!
Bro this video is insane. Going to play through the campaign again
Upon replaying the campaigns of the original trilogy, Halo 3 is the only one that held up. It just sucks reading about the third of the game’s content that was removed.
niofalpha I still love all of them tbh but halo 3's plot and sandbox is still unparalleled to me even to this day
I mean it totally comes down to preference but
• I think 2's campaign holds up aside from the balance
• CE's campaign can get repetitive with its level design but the gunplay is amazing
That said, Halo 3 is still the best. And I agree that the cut content woulda been great to see
No way...CEs campaign is still amazing man. So what get the levels repeat- the stakes and the encounters are different
@@Matanumi have you played the game since you were 11? I liked it when I was younger, but it just doesn’t hold up anymore. Playing through it feels like a chore.
@@niofalpha I would say that it held up extremely well but many areas are way too repetitive.
Halo 3 was the first game I ever played I was 5 I think when it came out and it changed my life
Halo 3 was really good, but I must admit, the campaign was quite short.
But the multiplayer was great
The campaign was short, but it didn't feel short if that makes sense, and the level design is amazing
@@hectorcastro4956 the levels were long, thought out and added a lot of lore
@@Collin212 exactly, now imagine how it would've if they had time to add more
@@josephpapilson7224 i wish we got to play more levels on the ark, that thing was HUGE and yet we only got two levels ( who are some of my favorites)

I feel like I’m going to end up watching this video at least 2-3 times a year. Such a nostalgia trip. All the voice testimonials from the other UA-cam guys is just such a cherry on top to this amazing capture of an absolutely historical game and gaming company. Thank you for this 🤘🏻🙌🏻
Hearing that song Forgotten almost makes me shred a tear. What Memorys
Damn this was highly nostalgic 😞 the pinnacle of videogaming
Still play Halo to this day. It will sadly never be the same as the good old custom games Halo 3 days. I’m glad 343 ha remastered all the games.
Honestly surprised this doesn't have 100k views, quality stuff.
The section of you guys reminiscing really humbled me, reminding me of those very same memories I shares with my peers. No game or experience gave me what Bungie and friends did with Halo 3. For a moment, I was all the way back in 2007. What a lovely winter that was. Thank you for that
this genuinely made me cry
This is one reason why Halo is loved, people can remember it, bring some of the best times in their lives, now with everything in the world it makes me want to give up until I saw halo 3 sitting on the shelf, I picked up and started playing it remembering the good times I had with my father. This almost brings me to tears knowing that online was shut down not to long ago and I never got the time to play online, with friends but now I'm lonely sitting here remembering good times with my family, and missing the friendships that never lasted
An upload after a long time :D
I would be very interested in some lore...
Love your content :)
I am so beyond glad I got to experience this beautiful game when I was younger. 2007-2010 were genuinely the best years for gaming ever
Let me also add that this video is absolutely amazing, The documentary style takes a tremendous amount of work and I thank you for this SomeToken.
*Me thinking about this documentary* : By the Gods it is glorious..
29:55 that brute just gave his chieftain a boost to kill the chief... that’s mental
I love this video so much! No other game ever will bring me the kind of joy and nostalgia that halo 3 brings me! Forever my favorite game!!
I'm so happy I was there back in 2007... tha k you for such a great video
Great video, gave me a very lovely nostalgic feeling.
This video was incredibly impressive and deserves way more views. I remember waiting all day through school on launch day too and as soon as I was out I ran to Gamestop picked up my copy and went home and stayed up the whole night finishing the fight.
Very well done. Very well done indeed. Couldn't stop watching.
Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed!
"Bungie believed in Fun before Graphics"
Here, this right here, is pure wisdom.
And, ironically, Halo 3 *STILL* looks good even today, sure the textures and models ain't as sharp as modern games but they're still good looking
@@UNSCPILOT The only thing I think has seriously aged poorly is the marines faces, good lord they look like play dough
@@flowerpower003 true, though plenty of games from the Era ain't much better off there in fairness
@@UNSCPILOT Agreed honestly a lot of older games aged poorly when it comes to faces
This was the game that inspired me to pursue a career in gaming. Some of the greatest memories of my life were made sitting in my room as a kid playing this game with friends online till the next morning! That reminiscing portion of the video really gave me so much feels!
A number of times during this vid i exclaimed "ohh shit, that's right remeber that man...." oh right im alone by myself.
I’m new to the community but when I played it my future would never be the same
you made me play halo3 so hard that i had to interupt your vid to play some
I love the Halo community. It’s nice to see that other people still care just as much as we do! Cheers to all of you iconic ones.
Bro this is epic that custom game night was 🔥!!!
He must be sponsored by 343 industries bc I felt like he was selling the game to me 😂
@big heart i would say bungie but 343 took over
Your retrospectives are so good man.
Hearing all the voices of all these halo youtubers ive seen 😭😭😭
I thought I was looking at some Netflix documentary. THANK YOU for making this kind of content, this has higher quality than many TV shows. I felt so embraced by what this video transmits, thanks my man. Thanks. 😌
Fantastic video! This game was so important to so many people, myself included. I've been playing so much MCC on PC recently and I just wanna go rush and play some more now :)
This game helped me get off the streets as a teenager, and I am so thankful for that 🙌🏻
When you let the AI marines drive the hog
Kat drives hog PTSD kicks in
First of all, great narration and pacing.
No lie, this game and its memories make me wanna shed some tears. My wife calls me a loser for that lol
Haha loser

Even as a solo player I have nothing but fun & fond memories playing Halo & definitely Halo 3 even if it took a while to get my own copy.
I normally have a terrible memory but the day I was able to play Halo 3 for the first time is something I shall never forget.
Amazing work, brought back many things I'd forgotten.
