Just got a parked REGEN WARNING while i was driving... Never experienced this before... Pulled into the next truck stop to research how to fix it and found your video.... Thanks for your help! Started the the regen process with no problems thanks to you!!! Drive Safe!
At least this driver figured out someone disabled regen and got it going. Solid DPF light indicated stage one. Flashing light is stage 2 (very high soot level), flashing DPF light with CE light is stage 3 (critical soot level) and must do regen ASAP. Continuing without doing regen will light stage 4 stop engine light and will shutdown down in one minute. When that occurs, driver is locked out from performing regen and need laptop to bypass lockout and force parked regen. Truck will restart in stage 4 but only go about 150 feet before shutting down again. Trucks will do passive regens while traveling but some conditions will dictate parked regens including excessive stop and go or idling. Experienced some older trucks with original Phase one regen system (pre DEF) required AC turned off so computer took over engine fan control during parked regen otherwise fan stayed on continuously.
Just got a loaner from penske and 30 miles after I leave the rental office , tractor started asking for Regen. first time with a Volvo ..But thanks to this video I was able to find out where to look to start the process.' on video the dash screen was not visible' but I figured it out. Cool video !! Thanks !

For the new volvos that have dpf and or def, if you leave the truck off for 24 hours or more. There should be a power switch probably under the drivers door, remember to turn the switch to the off position. My company owns all volvos and has seen a lot of issues with the regen not working. Turning the power completely off allows the computers to reset and clear out. It doesn't damage the truck in any way. This will fix the inability to regen most of the time. Other regen inabilities could stem from check engine lights. A check engine light may prevent the truck from regenerating.
thank you for this information, the pdf light is flashing and I requested to do Regen but it won't do it. Now I figure because it has the check engine light on. I guess I must take it to the shop.

I've had my 2016 Volvo now for almost a year. Never had to do a forced regen, untill today on my yo cedar rapids. It's pretty windy today and I was heading right into it at 70mph. Would these conditions possibly cause this, or should I start thinking about getting filters cleaned. Truck has 500k, never had any problems since owning it. Thanks!
So I had REGEN in progress whiles i was driving on a highway with Volvo 2015 D13 with a Cummins engine, I didn’t stop and it went of by it self , i parked after 30 mins and start it again just to see weather it will prompt for check engine light or something but none came on the dashboard is it something I should be worried about since I didn’t stop right away whiles it was in progress??
sopposed to get the engine hot before u start the regen, allows the NO to separate to N and O better getting ride of the hydorcarbons easier only takes about 20 mins then
how about you leave your ATS on and let the truck do what it needs and that regen light will not come on as offen. you are just causing more problems with it disabled. that disable should only be used for safety were a regen could cause fire. (petrol fill up or grass fields)

как я смог разглядеть загорелся значек что высокая температура выхлопа и все! в этом случае ничего делать не нужно ! оно само делает чистку повышением температуры до 8000-9000 . это просто для информирования водителя ! а вот когда загорится 2-й значек то либо нужно увеличить скорость до магистральной или если нет возможности то сделать реджинирейшин на парковке. вольво сейчас сама на ходу это делает !
I don't like def trucks. Every time you regen on 1100rpm for an hour you burn a lot fuel. If you are owner operator and you pay the fuel this will be no good for you. I got Volvo 2006 I don't buy def I don't regen. I will keep the truck as much as possible. When I make more than 1 million miles I will make overhead to the engine and will keep going like that. To everybody else with trucks newer than 2007 I will say good luck :)

My Volvo B8 eVoRa has just done this, but dont think I let it regen long enough. The light hasnt gone out. Think it needs an hour?
