    Good, but I think this warm up is just a little too static. Lately the general advice is to focus on dynamic warm up and stretching. So, at least do a slow dribble around the track before this.

      Most of these exercises can be transformed into dynamic stretches

    Thank you very much for sharing. I've never warmed up with anything more than quad stretches and static hamstring stretches, and I've been running for 19 years. Looks fun. :-D

    Thanks looking forward to giving this ago before my next run, i tend to do a bit on my calves and hamstrings but dont really do much for my hip flexors, i think this is where im getting the pain from, cheers guys!! -From Jess the runner for @TeamSLTA

    Maybe I did something incorrect somewhere, but I have just come back from a jog after doing this warm up for the 1st time and my legs are not in a good shape. Will have to keep on looking for better warm ups.

      Half true: don't do a static (i.e. extended) stretch on cold muscles. Dynamic stretches like these are fine. You could do a light jog/trot before doing this.

    It would help if I was the right ethnicity and fortunate in genetics like you both. Someone obviously taught you about those stretches and anatomy of your body. I don't have that privilege. I've stayed up all night and morning unproductively yet gain doing absolutely nothing, suffering in agony, wasting electricity and time, and now sat here shaking with trauma, depression, ugliness, discomfort and anxiety. I deserve a better life. I wish I was white and beautiful like you woman. You ahve an amazing body and as much as that's down to your exercise routine you can't deny you have been blessed in the ethnicity you were born into.
    Pray for me.

      To add to this, a warm up should be dynamic. This routine has caused me a calf strain threatening my participation in the London Marathon!

    Slow ass runners do static stretches before a run to make sure they don't run too fast and pull something.

    As a dancer I cringe so badly when they are getting up on those toes. Ugh they're so wobbly and it is very dengerous to try stand up on your toes if you don't know how to do this :/

      Lilly Mendenhall Actually it is very dangerous because our ankles aren't made to do that. You shouldn't put weight on the small toe :/ Of course they are athletes, so they should have strength in the muscles to hold that ankle in it's place BUT they are not stable on those toes and a - I still cringe because it hurts me to watch and b - people doing that are in the risk of getting an injury, even the athletes.
