Is it just me or is there a massive Aussie love thing going on at the moment? I'm Australian so I'm all for it but I swear in the last few months people are checking out Aus left right and centre lol
I think a lot of Aussies are supporting (through views, engagement and requests) the chance to show the world what the international record labels missed or failed to promote.
Mate, welcome to our teenage years, I'm so chuffed that you guys get to experience my teenage music years, I'm really actually appreciating my teenage years thru music again with all these reactions to fantastic Aussie artists, THANKYOU 👍😍😍
I think "That Singer Reactions" started it with watching Farnsey and Barnsey belt out "Something is Wrong With My Baby" and it took off from there. I absolutely love it!!!
Its a song about drug addiction. The gun is the needle. Catching the Manly ferry to Kings Cross to score as others are going to work. The early morning wrestle is fighting the addiction each day. Scott was an Antarctic explorer who lead a fatal expedition. Burke and Wills were Australian explorers who perished in the outback after missing a rescue party by mere hours. The point being they are beyond help. The song is DEEEEP.
Thanks was going to say the same - they had quite a few songs about addiction Hammerhead, Oh No Not You again, and of course The Boys Light Up - but so do/did most of us!
This is a great song to turn up loud while driving. A lot of the lyrics are about Sydney (as the Manly Ferry makes its way to Circular Quay) and Australian history. This was one of their last songs before the guitarist died of pneumonia.
" Like a trackless tram, I'm Bondi bound " " Put it in the skillet and slap it all around " “Fall of Rome” not only has lyrics of genius, but the driving Rhythm Guitars, Bass and Drums makes this one of the best Aussie Rock songs in history. James Reyne is a National Treasure. I understand most of his lyrics, that's his style. Not every singer can have clear diction like the 3 Singers in STATUS QUO.
Dei, if you are reading these comments: Sir, your taste in music is admirable and inspirational. I particularly enjoy watching our hosts reacting to your presented choices. Oi, Oi, Oi.
Love all your reactions guys, but as an Aussie, obviously I'm loving this Australian bender you are on lately. Big shout out to Dei for making a lot of it happen.
There are soo many Australian historical references & idiosyncrasies in this song, please suggest you read about it. Gives resonance, take the time. Kind regards, Jim
Aussie Crawl had some great songs. "Boys light up", "Oh no, not you again" And "Errol". James Rayne, the lead singer went on to have a solo career. Love it, thanks Dei and thanks Wolf Hunterz.
If you have difficulty understanding some of the lyrics, don't be concerned as even us Aussies often requested sub-titles so we could understand James Reyne's diction.
I don't have any trouble understanding James's vocals on this song. That is a fallacious argument people make about James just because they've heard other idiots say it.
This is one of those songs that it's played full volume or not at all! Oh and another Aussie classic you really NEED to watch is Great Southern Land by Icehouse, it's epic Aussie!
I disagree, I feel this beautiful delicate song should be played at a moderate to low volume. Guns n Roses should be played LOUD. No one's ever suggested Great Southern Land by Icehouse, that is very original. Icehouse have much better songs to REACT to. Expand your knowledge.
This so Australian. Sitting at dusk, in the humid heat, with a cold drink, watching the sun set and listening to this...to chill and cool and relaxing after a hard day at work...hmmmmmmmm
This is definitely a chill song; evocative too. It instantly takes me back to the 80’s when it is was on the airwaves constantly. It’s also a great song for a Sunday afternoon session at the pub beer garden…sitting back with a cool drinks and listening to some tunes with friends. Thanks, guys!! 🙃
I remember seeing them twice around this time at the Moruya Speedway on the south coast of NSW back in the early 80's with the Radiators as the support band,... unbeatable! We were only kids in high school 12 or 13 years old, first time I smelt weed lol!
Brilliant Aussie Crawl me fav band from my home of Australia there track White Limbo is extremly underrated I know it's 2yrs u posted this track but if u can give white limbo a listen&reaction u wont be disappointed
Want a trip back to the affluent 80's.... Aussie Crawl's song Errol music video... The Beach, the T-Shirts, the Antics..... Takes me back to my early teenage years...
Hello, this reaction crossed my path, good choice. You want to know why it was a hit for us, it’s a story of our explorers. Check the names. It’s a near, quiet anthem. And of coarse early morning wrestling is good. Glad you’re listening to our music history
I'm rather late to the Party. I'm in my 40's and for years I've been singing "missiles in the trees" until a few years ago when I realized they are saying "Initials in The Trees"
This song is so chill, 1980's driving home after a manic day at work, dealing with peak hour traffic then this comes on the radio and it all washed away.
Took me awhile to get into this band but this song is just hauntingly gorgeous. It really struck a chord with me the other day. Been stuck in my head ever since lol
I was in my early teens when James Reyne with Australian Crawl were around, and many years later, my brother played bass with him on tour. I met him once, too. This song has a meaning for many people from Australia of my age. I'd also suggest listening to Icehouse "I don't believe anymore". The saxophone is brilliant. I remember seeing them in concert when I was about 18. I met my wife while visiting the USA in the mid 1990s, and remember well explaining to her - since she asked - about the cultural and historical referrences of this song. She's a very proud Australain now, lying here on my lap asleep while I stroke her hair.
This came out just before I joined the Navy. SOOO long ago now. You can actually understand what he says in this one. If you get a chance listen to Fall of Rome, that's the only thing you can understand.
I loved this song from the first time I heard it. It was in September 1983 on Harbord Beach (when it was still known as Harbord Beach) in Sydney. Someone in a group of teenagers (then still called teenagers) next to our family had their transistor radio (yet another term that has lost currency) turned up loud. Today I can't hear _Reckless_ without being almost physically transported back to that time and that place.
I find it interesting the different interpretations of this song. Australian Crawl were a very successful Aussie group that epitomized the whole surf "n Sun culture of the 80's ..
Taking me back. You've been doing some great reviews of some Aussie classics! The use of instruments in this against the beat of the drum was like a beacon in the night. Fabulous and thanks for another great review.
I remember when this song came out, on "Countdown" of course, while I was never a huge fan of Aussie Crawl, this song was big, everyone loved it. Some amazing songs in that era, well ahead of their time, I may be biased though, it was part of my life.
Don’t be so Reckless throw down your Guns We won’t give up we stand tall and we won’t live in fear. Like what’s happening now 💙💛💙💛💙💛. Let’s all live in peace ✌️
This song takes me back to days of my teen years hanging in Sydney city during the 80's, sitting down under the bridge contemplating life, the universe and everything. It stirs emotions that bring tears and smiles, regret and want for a time so long ago. As an 70/80's aussie girl, this was an amazing time to grow up.
I am of a similar vintage, been living in the US for 15 years now. Teared up straight away listening to this song. So many memories, such touching lyrics. I think at some point we all sat under the bridge and contemplated life. It kinda has that affect on you.
Such a sublime song, takes me back to the days of my youth. Great to watch you enjoy an Aussie classic. 'As the Manly ferry cuts it's way to Circular Quay' strikes a chord soooo deep..... peace
Great to see your reactions to a number of oz/nz bands I grew up listening to from the early 80s, Radio songs by cold chisel and crawl file, by Australian crawl were two best of cassettes albums that I bought back home to the uk in 1986, great memories, 🇭🇲🎸
Hey Dei it would be great to hear a Grinspoon song like Champion , lost control or black Friday they have so many great songs .You seem to request a few songs so I would love them to react to Grinspoon hope you can help thanks for your request so far.
I'm surprised you didnt mention the windscreen wipers swinging in time with the beat at 5:56! (I just watched your Crazy reaction 😉) No. 1 for a reason, don't you think? 👍
I think it's because Australia has been considered as colonial. People are starting to realise (20 years too late) the amazing talent this country has to offer
It was our own inferiority complex holding us back. It has been a slow process but I think most Australians consider themselves equal to anyone else in the world in their chosen field.
James Reyne sang this song live in the awesome telemovie/direct to dvd film The Postcard Bandit. An iconic Aussie action/bankrobber movie based on the real life Postcard Bandit bank robber. Guaranteed must watch, great music, scenery and Aussieness all the way!
Takes me back to the early 80’s when I was living in Sydney and this was a hit. I was only 21 then , but the song is very moody and dark , about drugs and wasted lives
And everytime I hear this I get chills. Another one that does that for me is the Local Hero movie theme by Dire Straits- the live version on their album. I'm off to listen to it now!
If you are having trouble understanding what James Rayne is singing & think it's just because you're American & James has an accent, you are wrong. At the time many comedians made fun of James' strange annunciation.
Watch - Beautiful People - if you can figure out what heck James Reyne is singing I'll give you a medal 😂 awesome song but im 64 now and still haven't worked it out - been trying since 1980!
Is it just me or is there a massive Aussie love thing going on at the moment? I'm Australian so I'm all for it but I swear in the last few months people are checking out Aus left right and centre lol

Yep ..?
I think "That Singer Reactions" started it with watching Farnsey and Barnsey belt out "Something is Wrong With My Baby" and it took off from there. I absolutely love it!!!
Yes, and it's a good thing 😌
Its a song about drug addiction. The gun is the needle. Catching the Manly ferry to Kings Cross to score as others are going to work. The early morning wrestle is fighting the addiction each day. Mate, that was awesome. I never knew that.
Thanks was going to say the same - they had quite a few songs about addiction Hammerhead, Oh No Not You again, and of course The Boys Light Up - but so do/did most of us!
Thanks for explaining
@@bigs1546 "Hammerhead"😐 ..that'd be JRs solo career.
Wrong, Reckless is a break up song.
This is a great song to turn up loud while driving. A lot of the lyrics are about Sydney (as the Manly Ferry makes its way to Circular Quay) and Australian history. This was one of their last songs before the guitarist died of pneumonia.
So glad I grew up In Australia with all these amazing bands. Very proud 🇦🇺❤
I think you’d love the singer James Reyne’s first solo song - “Fall of Rome”
" Like a trackless tram, I'm Bondi bound "
" Put it in the skillet and slap it all around "
“Fall of Rome” not only has lyrics of genius, but the driving Rhythm Guitars, Bass and Drums makes this one of the best Aussie Rock songs in history.
James Reyne is a National Treasure.
I understand most of his lyrics, that's his style.
Not every singer can have clear diction like the 3 Singers in STATUS QUO.
I think we all owe Dei a huge debt of gratitude in bringing these great Aussie acts to you attention. Keep it up, mate!
It’s a history lesson a bit like Forrest gump
Australian Crawl is probably one of the best bands to have come out of Australia
Probably?
Totally agree
James Rayne invented his own language/accent with Aussie Crawl. Takes me back to seeing them live in a pub in Frankston, Melbourne, Australia.
He certainly did, a lot of Aussies even needed the English translation to James Reyne.
It's spelt REYNE
@@alanstrom2221 well spotted Allen Storm
Pier hotel, me too. he had hot tuna dacks on lol
Dei, if you are reading these comments: Sir, your taste in music is admirable and inspirational. I particularly enjoy watching our hosts reacting to your presented choices. Oi, Oi, Oi.

guy was equally as good a singer and was strarting his solo career till his sad accident
You forgot about “Daughters of The Northern Coast”
Errol is the best!
REYNE
If you have difficulty understanding some of the lyrics, don't be concerned as even us Aussies often requested sub-titles so we could understand James Reyne's diction.
Only Aussies whose second language isn’t English.
I don't have any trouble understanding James's vocals on this song.
That is a fallacious argument people make about James just because they've heard other idiots say it.
This is one of those songs that it's played full volume or not at all! Oh and another Aussie classic you really NEED to watch is Great Southern Land by Icehouse, it's epic Aussie!
nailed it.
I disagree, I feel this beautiful delicate song should be played at a moderate to low volume.
Guns n Roses should be played LOUD.
No one's ever suggested Great Southern Land by Icehouse, that is very original.

Another great Aussie tune to look at is Mondo Rock 'Come said the boy'.
This so Australian. Sitting at dusk, in the humid heat, with a cold drink, watching the sun set and listening to this...to chill and cool and relaxing after a hard day at work...hmmmmmmmm
Aaahh. You found James Reyne,
Australian Crawl.
An all time favourite song.
RIP IT UP.
A couple of good UA-cam versions. 👍👍👍
This is definitely a chill song; evocative too. It instantly takes me back to the 80’s when it is was on the airwaves constantly. It’s also a great song for a Sunday afternoon session at the pub beer garden…sitting back with a cool drinks and listening to some tunes with friends.

1927 , if I could , scars , that's when I think of you .
'Oh No Not You Again' is a MUST listen guys👍👍
Completely different vibe to 'Reckless'.
Heaps more great tacks by the Crawl.
✌️n ♥️ 🇦🇺

When they played this at the clubs all the couples would slow dance together. A beautiful moment.
This has a lot of oz history in the song that you don't no but cool that you like it
Wow ..makes a big difference when you have talented and skilled people in yor band..no computers..just talent..wow..
Reckless has always been one of my favourite songs
Hello, this reaction crossed my path, good choice. You want to know why it was a hit for us, it’s a story of our explorers. Check the names. It’s a near, quiet anthem. And of coarse early morning wrestling is good. Glad you’re listening to our music history
I'm a Kiwi, born in '82 and this is part of the soundtrack of my childhood. Love it.
MAN!!!! You guys are well informed on your Australian music!!!!
More please.
Need to check out: The Triffids and The Go Betweens.
Thanks this is awesome. You might like "Boys Light up" by the same band.
Great reaction to Aussie rock Legend You gotta love Aussie music It always has soul 🇦🇺❤🥰🙏🙇
I'm rather late to the Party. I'm in my 40's and for years I've been singing "missiles in the trees" until a few years ago when I realized they are saying "Initials in The Trees"
This song always happens at top volume at inappropriate hours
This song is so chill, 1980's driving home after a manic day at work, dealing with peak hour traffic then this comes on the radio and it all washed away.
Took me awhile to get into this band but this song is just hauntingly gorgeous. It really struck a chord with me the other day. Been stuck in my head ever since lol
This was quite a dark and sombre song for a normally party rock band, but its an Aussie classic
I was in my early teens when James Reyne with Australian Crawl were around, and many years later, my brother played bass with him on tour. I met him once, too. This song has a meaning for many people from Australia of my age.

So many international acts that toured Oz in the early 80s all seem to to remember hot days , blue skies and Reckless punctuating the whole trip.
Aussie 70s and 80s music was EPIC.
world-class musicianship .
🇦🇺🥇
The hardest man to understand in music....Mr James Reyne.
There are still songs no-one knows the hell he's talking about....
But it's cool.
This came out just before I joined the Navy. SOOO long ago now.
You can actually understand what he says in this one. If you get a chance listen to Fall of Rome, that's the only thing you can understand.
James Reynes voice mesmerising

Listening to you guys talk over this track is like watching someone throw up in a church.
Must listen to Australian Crawl
Oh No Not You Again
Taking me back. You've been doing some great reviews of some Aussie classics!

Beautiful ❤
Aussie Crawl Had a few good songs my fav was Errol the guitarist sang not long before he died
I was going through a hard time when this song came out. Really helped at the time.
Such a sublime song, takes me back to the days of my youth. Great to watch you enjoy an Aussie classic.
'As the Manly ferry cuts it's way to Circular Quay' strikes a chord soooo deep.....
peace
Burke and Wills and camels
Initials in the tree.............Always gets me
One of my favourite bands, cheers 🇦🇺❤
Lovely people who look at the art on the wall before dissecting.
Reckless by Australian Crawl brings me back to my teenage years.
David Reyne is great & I love his solo songs along with Aussie Crawl.
But he really needs a translator for some songs 😂❤
I've got the album Sirocco, which I think is one of the best
Great to see your reactions to a number of oz/nz bands I grew up listening to from the early 80s, Radio songs by cold chisel and crawl file, by Australian crawl were two best of cassettes albums that I bought back home to the uk in 1986, great memories, 🇭🇲🎸
Just one of many songs stuck in my memory since I was a teenager
Fave Aussie Crawl song is probably Errol. I find this one a bit slow.
This song is definitely a vibe you have to be into to enjoy. It's easy to get lost in it. Love the guitar at the end too.
Great old blast from the past… 👍🇦🇺
love your channel guys, its great to see people discovering great Aussie music
Hey Dei it would be great to hear a Grinspoon song like Champion , lost control or black Friday they have so many great songs .You seem to request a few songs so I would love them to react to Grinspoon hope you can help thanks for your request so far.
This is a great Aussie BBQ, chilling out song

I've been binge watching all of your Aussie reactions and absolutely loving it , I'm falling in love your spirit. ❤
in there somewhere but you missed it because of the yapping, he mentions bourke and wills and the initials in the tree. worth googling "the dig tree"
I dont think many outside of Australia would get that reference
Iconic Aussie Band. You need to listen to two of their other great songs “things don’t seem” and “Errol”.
Dude, ya don't 'bop' to this.
James Reyne sang this song live in the awesome telemovie/direct to dvd film The Postcard Bandit. An iconic Aussie action/bankrobber movie based on the real life Postcard Bandit bank robber. Guaranteed must watch, great music, scenery and Aussieness all the way!
This is a great song to chill out to at the end of a long day of drinking - u can really feel the vibes!
everything you thought you knew about music will be shattered when you hear unpublished critics by aussie crawl
Takes me back to the early 80’s when I was living in Sydney and this was a hit.
I was only 21 then , but the song is very moody and dark , about drugs and wasted lives
I haven’t heard this this song in so long. Love your content….keep it up👍
Classic song. You guys got it!
If this song comes on at a party or bbq everyone sings along.
I love the Historical references in this Song and the reference to life in Sydney in the early Morning
One should play this song when standing at Manly Wharf, waiting to catch a ferry to Circular Quay.
And everytime I hear this I get chills. Another one that does that for me is the Local Hero movie theme by Dire Straits- the live version on their album. I'm off to listen to it now!
Loving the aussie contents guys 🤙🇦🇺, Suzi Q lookin so awesome rockin out to aussie songs 😂
You need to check some of their more upbeat songs "Boys light up", "Oh no, not you again" And "Errol"
If you are having trouble understanding what James Rayne is singing & think it's just because you're American & James has an accent, you are wrong. At the time many comedians made fun of James' strange annunciation.
This is a great song, however you need to do a reaction on Aussie Crawl's song 'Oh No Not You Again'. In my opinion that's their best song.
You guys need to check out Vanessa Amorosi singing Absolutely Everybody.
A joint and the beach sunset
I miss our morning wrestle!!
So as soon as this finishes, turn it up to "Mr Damage The Angels" Liveline version.
A calming song about addition
Wrong, it’s a break up song.
Flame Trees (1984), Cold Chisel!
Watch - Beautiful People - if you can figure out what heck James Reyne is singing I'll give you a medal 😂 awesome song but im 64 now and still haven't worked it out - been trying since 1980!
Omygosh what a dish your baby made you !!! That's mama love to eat it.
Written by the great Paul Kelly.
I WAS LOOKING FOR A GERLING REACTION AND YOU GUYS DO THIS TO ME AGAIN… 😢
"Downhearted" or "Oh no, not you again" by Oz Crawl. Also i suggest "Always the Way" by James Reyne.
it was a song abot middle class struggle, back when Manly was middle class.
Manly aint middle class now LOL!!!
