@UCr7V0jBJ1MdU-WpGNwQzzew lol I'm aware the memory on the cart' and internal combined was limited, especially when you factor in graphics and AI ECT they all affect the overall quality. I'm saying if you did a cartridge just dedicated just to music the sound would be a higher quality there's a guy that this on UA-cam on megadrive hardware it was amazing the difference it made
@@slingshotdon the reason it sounds bad has nothing to do with storage space. It sounds bad because they just put the arcade music through an autoconverter, rather than have an actual human rearrange the tracks
@@camulodunon that is absolutely 💯 incorrect bit rate effects sound quality. If you dedicated the mega drive cartridge soley for music it would sound a whole lot better quality wise. Obviously you've got factor in the limitations of the sound chip also when considering certain sounds.
@@slingshotdon that applies to recorded audio files but doesn't apply to chiptune/FM hardware like the Genesis. Music on the Genesis (and a lot of other old consoles) rather than being stored as recorded audio is stored as sequences of notes similar to a midi, and for the Genesis those notes are played through FM synth instruments which take up almost no storage space, since they're just a few programmed values. The only thing that might take up a significant amount of space is samples (which can only be played on channel 6) and the music for Suler SF2 uses no samples, only FM and PSG sounds, so storage space is not an excuse for it.
sick cover, and it's based off the best version (the cps-2 ver from super street fighter 2) too! to clarify, yoko shimomura, not isao abe, composed guile's theme. shimomura did most of the character themes in sf2 except for sagat's
This is great so much better than CapCom lazy effort on Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition. Now we just need someone to redo the game music for Lord Hiryu hack of Super Street Fighter 2 and your the best man for this job. silverRIFF love what you do bro really great stuff
This is an amazingly high quality cover. Reminds me of Savaged Regime's and Quincy Pringle's work. The coloration of the oscilloscope channels is the icing on the cake. Subbed!
Better than the original genesis version. Better chipset exploitation just like Galaxy Force 2. Many say SNES sounds better but objectively Genesis had better hardware it just was too hard to exploit for developers at the time cause the said chipset were more known by musicians than programmers.
Judging by the beat, this is based on the cps2 version. Therefore this is way better than the one used in the genesis version of super street fighter ii.
Would you mind sharing how you got Corrscope to display both left and right panning per channel? It's something I've been unable to work out myself and it makes videos like your own look great
Amazing. Subscribed. Just curious, is it possible to drop these files (in a format the Megadrive understands) in a flascart so to play them in real hardware? Regards
@@silverriff if the rom extension is .md or .smd or .bin extension it must work in real hardware. That would be very kind of you! But no hurries, just when you find some really spare time. Regards!
Hit up pyron, he doin the colors on a sweet mega drive port of SSF2, a new version, called Omega, this would be a good one for that if they wanna use some remixes thrown in there
nobody gonna talk about how the wavelengths are colored as the American flag? Awesome
WOW I DIDN'T EVEN REALISED THAT AT ALL LOL

This sounds better than the arcade!
Because the Mega Drive/Genesis synthesizer chip was fucking awesome!!! Best bass tone of all time.
This is how SSF2 Genesis music should have sounded.
When you're dealing with kb of data it's going sound broken. If the cartridges held more memory it would've have sounded better trust me.

Thanks, fixed the credits in the description.
These guitars are so good, they are very reminiscent of the CPS2 guitars. I really loved this remix, it's my favorite remix of this theme :)

The Super version on Megadrive is lazy. Or more specifically a lack of memory space

When videogames had good music and gameplay. Videogames was art by then. This cover is awesome... Well done...❤
This sounds beautiful. 100% deserves a sub.
I love the synth brass FM Patch!!!

Wow, great stuff, so snappy! I love your lead, sounds so nice!
Awesome quality!!! I wished all programmers did this quality music on every mega drive game...

There should be an option that lets you choose wether the audio display is mono or stereo under the "appearence" tab.
@@silverriff Found it with your help, many thanks!

Awesome, just as it could sound in SSF2 genesis

Download the ROM file and check it for yourself. Besides, this is not even that impressive, the Master of Monsters OST is mind-boggling.
