A limited edition sneaker that’s been massed produced making the value of the shoe go down is the same thing Joe Biden did to the US dollar by printing trillions of it.
I think the sneaker market in general is cooling off back to where it was in 2018-19. Companies haven’t fixed the bot issues at all and for a lot of people, myself included, we don’t feel the hobby is worth jumping through hoops anymore for shoes that are overpriced in the first place. This is a good thing though, now stuff that real fans want is easier to get.
I just picked mine up as well. Crazy steal! I think these will go up when Lebron finally retires. But I just like this shoe they remind me of the crazy kobe color ways back in the day
I think you're not accounting for style changing over time, wearing this style or silhouette casually would look weird today. People like retros because they have a more timeless look, and can be worn with jeans without looking too out of place, basketball shoes for the last few years are more performance inspired than casual appeal driven. These shoes are just not really something someone would want to wear everyday.
@@UnicornRyder04 yeah, they're not basketball shoes anymore. How many current basketball shoes use leather uppers? Chucks, af1, superstar, stan smith's, and vans are very outdated performance shoes but are now most people's go to casual shoe. Retro Jordans are now in that category of shoe, especially 1s.
Im glad the sneakers I couldnt buy before are so cheap today. Funky print and all I think these are a dope pair and I plan on getting the WTTs and Big Bangs next!
I copped these as well for $80 I hoop in mine tho I think LeBrons just like Kobe’s will go up in value and be rare to find especially after he retires.
Well, the fact they're LeBron's are a pretty good indicator that their value suffered, greatly. I imagine the value or lack thereof, reflects his value or depreciation on the court.
If they re-release KD 4's I bet they'd sell out in a heartbeat. I have Gold Metal 4's Christmas 4's & Galaxy 4's All size 8 but I wish I had brought 8.5
It’s bc in 2012 during Lebrons 1st few seasons in Miami, he was supposed to be on the road to surpass Jordan. Now that he has failed, well so have his shoes.
I struck out in Big bangs this year and had to pay resale. Don’t remember how much, probably close to $300. Now they’re under retail!! I hate this sneaker game lol
Lil foot sizes only. The surge by new collectors to be cool has dropped prices. I love it. I don't resale so it is dope for me and others who wear shoes.
This awesome for those who wants the shoe to wear without paying the ridiculous resell prices. Hopefully the hype and demand for sneakers continue to drop so that those who buys the shoes are the ones who will wear them instead of resellers and hypekids.
I love the LeBron 9 but a shoe that was 140 (lows) being 200 and similarly with the regulars being 170 now 230+? crazy. And I’m only hooping in them it isn’t 2013
I think it comes down to fashion, when those were super hype wearing basketball shoes in regular clothing was cool and now not so much ( not including Jordan’s )
I try to tell people ALL THE TIME on socials, you do NOT have to run out and snag any LeBron shoe off launch. For a few reasons. 1. Nike has the community gassed. There is NO such thing as a shoe selling out. "Sold Out" is a myth. Good example, people really wanted the LeBron 20 "time machine". But it "sold out" on SNKRS. I bought it 2 weeks later at the Nike Outlet Daytona. They had 2 dozen pair. Nike sends a LOT of launch products to their outlets, almost as a shock drop or "in person restock". 2. LeBron's are one of the worst selling signature shoes in history. (I think only the PG is worse) Don't let volume of units sold confuse you for "pushing product" and "making money". The LeBron 19 had what (someone correct me) around 15 colorways. They saturate the market. However, there was so many, and so much product, they did numbers despite horrible reviews and public opinion, just because of availability. However, not at retail price. At one point, your average Nike Outlet would have a full row of LeBron 19s, 5-7 colorways, in full size run marked down to $79.99. For a $200 shoe. (even cheaper for some that were +30% off on the hash wall) 3. Patience pays. In the last 6 months, I've found the following LeBron's, in my size (12 or 11.5) in outlets for 50% off or more: Sprite 8 low, LeBronald Palmer 9 low, reverse Barcelona 9 low, Big Bang 9, Regal Pink 9, LeBron 3 "the shop". Bottom Line: His shoes aren't desired. They aren't good to play in. Have performed poorly. There has been NO hype on his shoe since the 10's. Not to mention (whatever side of the fence you are on) people generally do not like this man. His fandom has affected Nike's ability to profit from his line. The more people dislike him, despise him and are simply over him either on the court or off the court, it's not worth it for your average consumer to spend $200+ on a shoe that doesn't perform for a guy you can't stand. It's ALL related. His "brand" just simply isn't desired like Jordan, Kobe or dare I even say Kanye. The LeBron 20 looked too reverse the opinion on his line....... but now the "debut" and "Christmas" colorways are everywhere, available and no one is buying them either. So with all his shoes........ I'll wait until spring and pick up another overpriced $200 shoe for $70 at the outlet.
I like the aesthetics of some Lebron’s shoes but they are so wide and I have skinny legs. That prevents me from buying most of his shoes in general. I was really hyped about the 20’s but didn’t pull the trigger for this specific reason
I bought em at retail & these were way too loud for me. Historic sneaker for me bcuz that golden age of nike basketball was my high school days. Still dont know why i havent pulled trigger on WTTs & Bangs AND even the South Beaches

The resell price of the shoe represents the relevance of the shoes name-giver. 10 years ago there was high hope, that LeBrons carrier could be great, so there was a hope, that the shoes-value crows like his carrier, but unfortunately today everybody knows, his carrier is over. Don’t get me wrong, he is a great player, but the way of his carrier was not great, and it doesn’t matter how long Heins playing, and how much records is able to catch with it, he is still just LeBron.
No it doesn't, looks is all that matters. Most of his shoes are too dated/futuristic. LeBrons look like serious basketball shoes most of the time. And no one is trying to wear basketball shoes with a regular outfit these days. Why don't new model Jordans sell out? Or team Jordan shoes sell? It All has to do with the looks and colorway of the shoe. The popular retros are the ones that you can wear casually with just about anything, the main reason why people buy them, most kids today only know Jordan as the shoe owner and not the basketball player. They know the hype, not the player.
