- Police are investigating a double homicide in Vieux-Fort over the independence holiday.
At least six men were injured in the shooting incident. The two who died have been identified as twenty-three-year-old (23) Quincy Mathurin, also known as “One Shot” from Cedar Heights, Vieux-Fort, and Edley Celise of Martin Luther King Street, Vieux-Fort.
I'm not saying the government isn't at fault but y'all need to stop blaming the government and give up the criminals y'all have hiding amongst y'all.
May peace, love,tranquility and jobs return to Vieux-Fort.

All these fellers killing people don't want to work. Fast life they like,power hungry fellers. Reneau have jobs,there's so many construction jobs out there,itel taking any and everything so though we barely have work but there's work for these fellers. It's more difficult for a woman to get work compared to young men

My gosh, yet another set of innocent lives lost Vieux Fort, when will this end. Our young men are killing our own, at the rate we are going we will and stress will have a serious shortage of young men in the next 5-10yrs. We will then have a more serious problem, no one to work our land since tourism is the main focus, parents are encouraging their sons to study out of the country & not return. While orhers are sending their sons out of St.Lucia with the hope that they don't return inspite of the fact they have overstayed their welcome in foreign countries.
Our older generation can't work their once owned farms & we have way too many lazy young men just hanging & posing our streets.
Parents, community leaders & most of all our government we need action "Now" not tomorrow as you can see this has gotten out of hand.
Too many mother's crying, father carrying their son's caskets, really too sad. This not the St. Lucia I know or knew.
Don't you see that all this criminal activity is only going to affect our island. The world is taking note!
Your tourism which seem to be the focus will be affected. Only then our government will start taking by then the damage is too far done!
Our Prime Minister, your people are crying out for help!
Step up your game & act as a leader should!
Your job is to ensure the safety of our country not acting the fool with your pettiness with the opposition.
If you & your ministry can't fulfill your duties then we need a stronger leader to help protect our once safe island, not the fearful country we have going on.
You should be ashame of yourselves for this mess you have going on in the south. You got their vote, act as you should for this very same people who expect better.
Jn Baptiste, you too received their votes, no one sees or hears you doing anything for the mess Vieux Fort is in. You owe your people that. You should be meeting the different media outlets & let your people see that you are proactive in the community.
So many of us St. Lucian are really disappointed in the direction our country is going & run.
Our people are afraid, hurting & losing hope!
