The best moment of my childhood had to have been when they featured Red Thunder on The Puzzle Place (a 90s PBS show). It was such a huge deal that they featured Native American culture on children's television! We listened to the Red Thunder album all the time and Prayer Song is still one of my favorites.
Shayna Pulley I’ve been looking for this show for a long time. This was my favorite episode and then the bread episode was my next favorite! I used to have the biggest crush on Skye when I was little. Red Thunder was one of the first bands that I ever listened to. Still love them to this day.

It's been at least 16 years, one of those things that sticks in the back of your mind that you try to find years later, but alas "Native Americans", "music" and "puppets" didn't really turn up much on Google. :) Finally, I figured out it was Red Thunder (they finally got a Wikipedia page), and so now I could find this program and the song. I've found the last of the things I've been trying to find ever since I was a kid, so thank you very much!
This has been a weird vague memory in the back of my mind for years. I remembered this vhs that came from the thrift shop when I bought it with my Nana, I probably wasn’t even 5 years old yet, and since we were poor I watched it every night before bed. I’ve been looking for this video forever 😂 Even before rewatching this I knew every word to kikis song and I never forgot the choir or the thumb piano. It gets the most strange because now I perform on stage and sing all the time. What a great memory and an iconic show
It's a shame this show is no longer on TV or even a streaming video. Not only did they cover subjects other kids shows cover but they talked about subjects relevant to kids that for some reason other shows don't touch
That's because this show covered real things that real people in the real world deal with. And let's be honest. Most kids shows these days don't want to even touch reality. And if they do, it's glossed over and never talked about again.

I loved the Puzzle Place when I was a little kid. I'm looking for one episode where two kids a boy and a girl forgot their names explore the cave or forest then they fell down into a hole but they use a rope to climb back out from the hole and go back home. I remember the end credits with a picture of the boy holding a lit match while looking inside the cave. Does anyone remember the name of that episode? Please let me know.

But I was wrong it turned out to be an episode of Groundling Marsh where Galileo and Maggie had fell down the hole and had to get the berries to help their friends feel better!
