You don't know how happy it makes me to see you talking about how much you enjoyed the Moz show in Tel Aviv. You were absolutely correct with the single release for Last Night I Dreamt. It was the very last single from the albums 83 to 87. Now if I remember correctly. Stop Me.... was supposed to have been the second single released in the UK and Last Night was supposed to have been the third. But they scratched Stop Me from its release in the UK because of the line "plan a mass murder". There was a murder in the UK around the same time and they thought that the song was sending a bad message. So with all of this being said. Stop Me was now released as the last single in most of the countries outside the UK. So I guess the last single released depended on what country you lived in at the time. Loved seeing your singles Eli. Loved this whole video. It truly made me smile from one ear to the other. Wish I was there with you~

23:20 Absolutely fantastic words. Makes me feel proud to be a devout vegetarian for well over 15 years now. I have to admit that Morrissey's encouragement had a lot to do with it. Last time I spoke to him in 2019/2020 we reminisced about digging for records in 1991. I never thought in a million years that I would be showing him around some of the record shops in Boston. Thanks again Eli~

You spoke with Morrissey and showed him some of the record shops in Boston?!!! WOW. It's amazing! And that's new to me... How was it all came about and do you have some videos/photos from this occasion?

@@MrElirecords Yes Eli I have a lot of photos. Some of them got published in some of the Smiths/Morrissey fanzines. In 2014 before the MTV Hanging With MTV performance. His manager at the time came up to me and told me that Morrissey wanted to see me backstage. So I went back with Jo. He asked me if I could go around and collect all of the presents that the fans had brought for him. There were many. I had known all of the band members by that time. When you follow the Moz tours you get to know the devoted fans who are going to every show on the tour. I only did the whole east coast. You also get to know the band members very well. They would go out to eat with us and occasionally we would go out after the shows for drinks. Morrissey always stayed in a separate room in the various five star hotels like Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, etc... Only a few times did he join us after the show. Anyways. To make a long story short. I gathered up all of the presents. During the Hanging with MTV taping there was some down times for commercials, etc... He was opening up some of the gifts and thanking the fans who gave them to him. Some of them were too nervous to go up to him. One girl named Nicole was very very shy. But she loved Moz more than anyone else in the universe. She bought him a second pressing of an actual Oscar Wilde original novel. She wrote something in a note that she enclosed in the book. He did not address it out loud. But he was very shaken up by it. It was a very eventful day Eli. I ended up meeting up with him about 25 times. One of the proudest days for me was during one of the nineties tours when he addressed me saying "how are you Robert?" I was so happy that he knew my name~

It's really fascinating, Rob. I thought you were lucky when you saw all these great bands in real time. But to meet Moz 25 times and to be in close encounter with him, that's top it all!
I first heard about or listen to The Smiths back in their first BBC session with John peel when I was in England in August 1983. I had the chance to see them live in that month in a small venue in London, but I've missed it. It was my chance to see them close and maybe to meet them... Oh well, the regrets of a lifetime...
But I'm happy for you Rob and I would like to see some of the photos and other things that you have from your meeting with the man 🙂

@@MrElirecords I just saw this Eli. Sorry about the late late reply. I have two scrapbooks filled with Moz photos from the tours, Tower Records signing in 94, Hanging with MTV and the meetups. A few of the early photos that were taken of Moz and me are a little embarrassing to look at. I was a little over the top during the first few times that we hung out. It wasn't until the 1994 Tour that I settled down. I was still excited to meet up with him. But I did not embarrass myself. {smile} The best day was when he called me out by name. I could not believe that he cared enough about me to remember my name. I can honestly say that he never dismissed any one of his fans that wanted an autograph or a photo during the first five tours. He was always very thankful to his fans. I will show you some of the photos soon Eli~
