Transformers was far from the first film Michael Bay did, actually. His directorial debut would be the 1995 film Bad Boys, starring Will Smith. He also made other movies like The Rock in 1996, Armageddon in 1998, Pearl Harbor in 2001, and The Island in 2005 before directing the 2007 Transformers movie.

The Sikorsky MH-53 pave low is a transport helicopter but instead of having guns under the wings they would typically mount an m2 browning .50 caliber machine gun on the loading ramp when not being used to transport small vehicles like hum-vs as well as any other military goods the two big things near the rotors are the engines that turn the turbines inside the helicopter that spin up the blades that jet sound when these start up/slow down are just two modified jet engines the fuel rod you did get kinda right it’s more of a probe that these types of helicopters would use to link up with a tanker in the air since these are used by mainly the navy and marine forces
What's even funnier is that currently, Sikorsky is making more money from the licensing for this MPM than they currently are for the IRL Helicopter, since the real life MH-53 was retired from service a year after the 2007 movie came out, and obviously Sikorsky isn't producing any more of them.
i have grindor and wejiang. pretty happy with both. i love that the mp can finally cover the bottom with no seperate parts. brilliant engineering. only wished it was as big as wejiang version. but i got to add this guy to my collection.
Also many fans just made stupid comments that were barely based on the photos that were shown, or not even based on anything. As bad as hasbro's pics were, if you looked at them for more than two seconds you wouldn't be saying half the things people were saying.
Gotta be honest, the transformation is smooth and satisfying, For me at least, and robot mode fairly accurate, and Man.. that vehicle mode is a 10/10, Overall this cured my Depression from the previous, MP releases, there's still hope, this one's really worth the wait!
About his scaling with Megatron; Blackout is 33 feet tall, and Megatron at 34, only one foot taller. However in the movie Blackout appears to be a full 40 feet tall! He towered over Optimus & Megatron!
@Dan Young I read that Blackout & Grindor we’re supposed to be the same height. I know they’re the same helicopter; only difference is Grindor is a Super Stallion. But there are some discrepancies I’ve noticed throughout the movies. In T1 & T2 Iron Hide is half of Primes height. Maybe just a bit taller than Bumblebee. But pay attention to T3, Iron Hide is now huge like Optimus. He’s twice the height of Sideswipe!
Wow, 15th anniversary! I saw the movie in theaters and I feel old. This figure looks AWESOME! The underside panels hiding the robot and the mini scorpion are super cool. Definitely wanna get this, great review! 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks absolutely dope! Incredible accuracy and spot on in both modes! Incredible! 😁👌🏻 this was what was in my mind playing with the old voyager way back in 2007! Absolutely glorious! This is my first experience with MPM and holy cow I’m in love with this figure. I love my Blackout studio series but this MPM is just amazing.
Great video and review! Will definitely be getting this figure! Best in the mpm line. But, what this figure really needed was 100 soldiers 50 full scale planes and jets, alot of vehicles and all 100 soldiers would be loose and articulated, and it needed to cost 1000000000000$ only for the paint to chip easily and half the joints to be loose.
WOW.... I was not expecting this to be good from the early pics. He's actually a great figure! Can't wait until Black Mamba releases their version of this. Sorry but I'm addicted to their superior paintwork!

@@tfan2222 I think they'll go with a Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal, Bumblebee or Optimus Prime before they give us Brawl and Bonecrusher, also given the size, height and weight of a mpm Devastator I doubt they will make it in the near future, its design has too much weight in the upper body so it would have serious balance issues, a RotF Optimus Prime, Jetfire and RotF Megatron are more plausible than the constructicons, still I would love to see a official mpm Devastator.
Now that is amazing, the engineering is complex but not complicated, very accurate, and just plain fun one of the best transformers figures period, the very 1st decepticon that i like now just has one of the best figures ever
Kinda wish you’d show the actual CGI render when comparing it with the SS. 4:28 DEEP 💋 DARK💋 SECRETS💋 Hoped Scorponok had more ball joints on its tail.
In your defense, the hasbro always pose their figures for official product images like they have parkingson’s. 70% of the time they’re mistransformed and 90% of the time the figure looks like dog water from official product shots.
So, I too was in the camp of, "thie SS version is almost perfect, I don't see the MPM being worth it when you own the SS," and I am eating those words as a very salty yet delicious salad. The transformation literally just looks like they added a ton more panels to the SS, most of the movements and placement of body parts are the same. I do not know if it's worth almost 300..but boy is it extremely tempting.
I think that says more about the quality of the SS figure than this, as the extra steps means that it is very accurate in vehicle mode to the point it is one of the few ever transformers to have a filled out bottom. In addition, it’s articulation is definitely MP quality.
They're completely different lines with different customer bases and budgets. They didn't "fix" a previous figure they just did more cause they had more budget cause it costs more.
Another great review - thanks so much! I too was skeptical about this guy, and thought the SS versions were darn good, and the Wei Jiang was incredible, but they were absolute nightmares to transform. I like what they've done here to make changes to the transformation. Though not short and simple, it seems like it would be easier to follow ND accomplish than the SS versions.
I have the Wei Jiang version that I bought when it first came out which is an upscaled version of the SS Blackout. I really like the one I have but on my copy, the hip skirts, back of the feet, and at the knees have all turned from grey to a brownish color. I’ve posted pics on Twitter of my copy, I hope this one doesn’t have any of the same issues after 3yrs.

Hasbro definitely took a page from the book of 3rd party black magic for this one
I'd love to see Allspark Power Evac in this mould. It would look stunning.
Really impressive figure. So much work would go into designing these.
The Moment we’ve all been waiting for and his name is Blackout
I'm speechless. Such an amazing figure. When is it available? must have this masterpiece of Blackout🤤
@Declan Harbeck whenever it does come out, good luck getting, it’s a Target Exclusive
i m waiting for it too
@Declan Harbeck Same can't wait to get this figure shouldn't be too hard seeing that Target usually carries lots of moms and sometimes even discounts them.
Why is that a target exclusive?🙄
I'm in Germany but I have studio series Leadfoot (got it from amazon, for the standard price) and this was definitely a traget exclusive. I hope I get Blackout..
@@julian_hsv not sure why, I just hoping it releases down here in Australia
Impressive! Too fiddly for me but some of those transformation tricks were very cool, like weapon storage. Great review!
It’s in the collection already. Thanks to this review.
This guy is already impossible to find...
This looks times over better than the stock images. Tho I do think he is small even by the standard MPM scale let alone KO upscales. I probably will wait for the KO but the official is going to be very hard not to pickup anyway !
Probably the best review I have seen on this figure , well done 👍
The MPM Blackout is the best figure so far in the line and the fact that uses the SS as a base is a testament to how great the SS toy is, probably the SS I've transformed the most, have high spectations for a eventual MPM Jetfire.
I hope if they do an mpm jetfire that they incorporate a combination ability with mpm4 prime
@@couldntcare_less1964 I hope so too
@@krtos7514 hell, i still need mpm4 prime to go with my mpm ratchet, mpm megs, mpm screamer and mpm bee prime. I have an mpm knight style mv5 prime and the mpm style sentinel and mpm tanker megs as well as wj hide shadow
On this note, with the ‘07 cast almost complete, I wonder if they’ll tackle the constructicons?
@@tfan2222 I think they'll go with a Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal, Bumblebee or Optimus Prime before they give us Brawl and Bonecrusher, also given the size, height and weight of a mpm Devastator I doubt they will make it in the near future, its design has too much weight in the upper body so it would have serious balance issues, a RotF Optimus Prime, Jetfire and RotF Megatron are more plausible than the constructicons, still I would love to see a official mpm Devastator.
He looks entirely different to the product shots and so much better for it.
They aught to just hire PVP for the product photography XD
jazz is the good one in mpm but this guy is amazing I like the arms one the detail so good
I am REALLY looking forward to MPM brawl.
Same
And Bonecrusher
i think will complete all the 2007 transformer characters since there is 2 more left😅
@@jingsuantan2304 yes! I just really wish MPM Barricade came with Frenzy.
I have the studio series Grindor and that's a beautiful piece but this is stunning.
Now that is amazing, the engineering is complex but not complicated, very accurate, and just plain fun one of the best transformers figures period, the very 1st decepticon that i like now just has one of the best figures ever
Looks great, can't wait to add him to the collection! Again, appreciate your reviews!
Kinda wish you’d show the actual CGI render when comparing it with the SS.
4:28 DEEP 💋 DARK💋 SECRETS💋
Hoped Scorponok had more ball joints on its tail.
look it up. It's really good
@@ilikepigeons6101 Got a link for me? Knew about the MPM SS comparison and MPM IRL one but not all three together.
@@eyywannn8601 i meant just search up blackout cg model lol
@@ilikepigeons6101 So no links?
@@eyywannn8601 BRO JUST SEARCH THEM YOURSELF
In your defense, the hasbro always pose their figures for official product images like they have parkingson’s. 70% of the time they’re mistransformed and 90% of the time the figure looks like dog water from official product shots.
hahaha yeah, kinda ironic since it's also hasbro that designed this
Haha true - plus the colour of this guy in hand is completely different to the promo shots
Just got figure! Absolute stunning Transformer in every way. Best in my collection
$300? It's gonna retail for $175 or $185 I forget which.
@@RingoLoadagain hopefully that's all. the yuan price was almost 300, I'm hoping it will be about $175 USD max
@@bt1234567892010 That was their flagship store, which was confirmed to be overpriced for tourists or something.
I think that says more about the quality of the SS figure than this, as the extra steps means that it is very accurate in vehicle mode to the point it is one of the few ever transformers to have a filled out bottom. In addition, it’s articulation is definitely MP quality.
@@RingoLoadagain ah, that makes sense, good.
When the hell does this thing release!?!? I have looked all over the Internet and I can't find a single date for the release.
It’s great that Hasbro and Takara listened to the criticisms people had on the SS that had been released previously and actually decided to fix them
They're completely different lines with different customer bases and budgets.
I’ve posted pics on Twitter of my copy, I hope this one doesn’t have any of the same issues after 3yrs.
the way they conceal the under part really blows my mind
7:21 (in g1 Tracks voice) “I’d rather stay in my stunning helicopter mode”
Also, all we need now is Bonecrusher
And brawl
They are out there, I have both and they are the pride and joy of my MPM shelve.
I appreciate the Voyager Optimus comparison for Grindor
the inclusion of the sentry gun is so cool!
And to velieve that i got the SD Grindor and thought that was excellent, seeing this one really raised the bar and probably the definitive version
any pictures next to the original blackout figure? been waiting since 07 for this beast!
This fig is amazing, I need one, btw his head looks a lot like Grindor from ROTF, still undeniably great head sculpt and the attention to detail, overall 10/10 for me
I’ve been itching for an accurate Blackout but really want one in the DLX line. I feel like as soon as I give in and pull the trigger on this guy a DLX will be announced
What is the dlx line?
@@ivanthehunter3530 ThreeZero makes them. They’re officially licensed and non transformable to try to be near perfectly screen accurate. PvP has actually reviewed them I think
It’s up to you if you prefer a nearly perfect screen accurate non-transformable figure, or a decent accurate but transformable one
I find it neat how they use some techniques from the SS blackout
I absolutely love blackout :3 studio series blackout was such a amazing toy when I got it and still love it! But man do I wish I had Bruce Wayne levels of money to have masterpiece blackout!
(I hope they do a grindor recolor in the future. So we can have both twins together)
I’m probably going to buy this figure and use him as a grindor on my studio series shelf
Great one in MPM series and I think this one was designed by a new designer at Takara Tomy. He did a fantastic job!
Now all we need are Brawl and Bonecrusher
Just bought this big boy and I do mean BIG, the box is surprisingly deceptive.
The size and weight of Blackout dwarfs everything other Bot in my collection.
