I remembered when Taco Bell used to have retro chairs and have the Choco Taco. I would get that all the time for dessert back in the '90s. Hope you have a great time Jacob and Jenn!
I worked at Taco Bell in 78 . It was my senior year. There was a sandwich called the Bell beefer . It wasn't too appealing lol . The name tickled the funny bone every time. There is a set of ingredients that they mix and matched and called each item something different. There was also a Beefy Tostada. They definitely skimped on the ingredients on the toastadas you had .
Not nostalgic for Taco Bell, but am for Zantigo’s, who sold the original Chilito, yum! All our Zantigos were closed and taken over by the inferior Taco Bell. That highway sign mural was amazing!
I am SO excited and absolutely share your adoration of the Meximelt!! Hands down my #1 favorite cancelled Tacobell treat along with the chili cheese burrito! I had no idea until now it was back. OMG I can’t wait to get one tomorrow!! You made my day Jacob!
I have a similar Meximelt story. I had no idea they even existed until I went with a friend one time and he ordered some. I tried it and it was an instant love. The Meximelt and the Baja chalupa were my favorite things they ever had, but of course they got rid of the Baja sauce several years ago, so you can't get the Baja chalupa anymore either. I'm hoping they will bring back the Baja sauce someday, but I hope it will be the original recipe and not the one they started selling in grocery stores, because it is NOT the same. (I'm as passionate over Baja sauce as Jacob is over Meximelts. lol)
My ex didn't really cook much, but one thing he was proud of was his "TacoRito", which was basically a large, wet burrito smothered in a beef-gravy sauce. He'd spend hours making them, and they were very good. I recently realized they were just homemade Enchiritos, which I seemed to have missed at Taco Bell (I was mostly a Jack-In-The-Box guy). I'll look for the retro items.
Years ago burger King tried to bring back the yumbo. It wasn't even close to be the same. The bun was wrong, the meat was dry and there wasn't enough cheese.
Tostada is my favorite. I was sad when they stopped. I always asked them to put the green sauce on it. Thank you for letting all of us know about the retro menu.❤
The name of the sign art is The PennDOT Road Sign Sculpture Garden. The fair made out of signs, I believe is a nod to the old Conneaut Lake Park, or the Crawford County Fair, one of the two.
I felt so sorry for you Jacob, when you had your first look at the meximelt. Thank goodness you got the right one in the end lol. Glad Jen enjoyed it too. 15 hours driving wow in aww of you xx Bev 🇬🇧
Disciples of the Meximelt REJOICE! IT HATH RETURNED! I'm right there with you! The Meximelt was the first thing I had from Taco Bell when I was little, and it was my absolute favorite.
I feel you Jacob, when comes to Taco Bell. My favorites are the Crunchwrap “hexagon of heaven”, the grilled stuffed burrito, and the double decker taco. The grilled stuffed is gone, but the double decker taco here in MI is back.
Now I could eat about ten Taco Supremes. I ❤️ Taco Bell…,and I love both of you and the fun times you share with us. Jenn, I want that sweater! It’s so pretty!
You were at the Taco Bell in my town of Lakewood, NY in the Chautauqua Mall parking lot - about 3 minutes from my house! They have always been terrible. Screwing up orders, mis-making food, etc. The employees just don’t care. It’s endemic of our region, unfortunately. On behalf of myself and the citizenry of our area, let me apologize for your less than stellar meal. I’m glad you found a decent location a few hours later. I was happy to see that you were in town, though I wished I had known. Just want to shake your hand for the years of entertainment you’ve provided for me. Anyway, keep that dirigible in the air, my friend!
I remember the playgrounds with metal jungle gyms and gravel for the ground and the gravel imbeded in my knees, the good ol days lol. I miss the Taco Salad at Taco Bell. I love taco salads and the crunchy shell. I wish they would bring it back . 🌮
Hey Jacob! I LOVE THE MEXI MELTS. I would order about 4 each day for lunch when I was in High School. Back when you could leave school for lunch. Lol. I have Really missed these and now that they are back, I hope Taco Bell keeps them. Well gotta run to get some Mexi Melts. Glad you and Jen had a Great Vacation.
My favorite that is no longer, is the "Enchirito". I wish they would bring it back. BTW, I met you at Queen Mary's Dark Harbor. I was the one with the walker working at the exit to the Breakout Maze. ❤
Hello Carpetbagger and Jenn. This video had me laughing so much. Starting when you said Jenn can you push me. Bummer that they used the wrong tortilla.
Jacob I love them as much as you! They are great, also the cup from the second Taco Bell is from the 60s I managed a Taco Bell for a couple of years in the 80s my all time favorite food
After watching Jacob eat that giant steak in Texas, I'm seriously interested in seeing how many meximelts he can eat at once! It would be a great way to say goodbye to his favorite!
Taco Bell destroys my stomach now so I don't really eat it anymore, but that meximelt looks amazing. 🤤 I remember the scary Lucy statue. I hate that the artist quit doing what makes him happy. I hope he was able to feel happiness again. I'm sorry for your loss. 🙏

We had gravel when I was a kid, most of the ones when my kids were little had grass and dirt. My son was born in 1981, too! My daughters were 1975 and 1978.
I worked at Taco Bell in the late 80s. We hated when customers ordered a maxi melt instead of a mexi melt. I jokingly said the next person who orders a maxi melt is going to get a pad covered in cheese. Nothing beats old taco bell when the beans and meat were made in house not boil in a bag. Also the enchirito is king when it comes to retro taco bell.
The Gordita and Chalupa came out at the same time. I am not a fan of the Gordita because I don't like the doughy shell. The fried Chalupa is so much better.
@@gdave53925_ you don't want to know. It's right there on the menu next to pintos and beans. This video really brought me back. When I would come home from work my sister would not be in the same room as me because I stank like Taco Bell
Jacob I’ve never had a MEXIMELT and can’t wait to have one just because of this video & story! lol 😆 I felt the disappointment that ya got because Taco Bell didn’t get it right for ya. 🌮 I didn’t eat at Taco Bell growing up either as I just make tacos at home. In relation to, um, the comment that I responded to, albeit erroneously, the other day: okay, not in a cemetery. But maybe this playground. For a couple to play in a playground that they have all to themselves, how romantic is that. Or this Taco Bell, where we see J & J sharing a meal and bonding. Or at the Jell-O Gallery and Museum, where it all began. OK, I'll drop it now and stop being so pushy. But y'all have been together for over two years, and I bet that if a certain question would pop up, I wouldn't be the only fan who would be absolutely beside herself with unbridled glee.
Hey Jacob and Jenny! I have the same passion as Jacob does for the Cheesy Gordita Crunch and the Double Decker Taco. I instantly fell in love with the Cheesy Gordita Crunch when it first came out with the Baja Sauce. It was so delicious. Then, they changed the sauce which it didn't only devastate me but tons of other people. The zesty ranch was okay at first but I grew to love the new sauce and continue my love for the Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Now, the Double Decker Taco. I was heartbroken when they took it off the menu during the pandemic. They just released it for a limited time for a 2nd time and I always order 2 every time I go there until it's gone but since it went away so quickly this time because I went into a Taco Bell and they changed to the Decades Menu and the Double Decker Taco was gone. Very highly disappointed. So, now I will order 3 every time I go there.
I worked at TB Summer of 1993 in Gainesville when I was going to UF. They had a WILD menu for awhile. Everything had WILD sauce in it and it was amazing!! it was a Tangy Hot Sauce sort of like a Buffalo style! Good times until your friends come thru the drive thru late at night a little tipsy and want you to hook them up with some FREE food! Ugh!

Thanks for the shout out. The Meximelt is the Goat
The enchirito is the GOAT.
I also love the Mexi-melt more than any other TB menu items!!!
