How’s that head for ya? I got a new ergo AF with an H8 on the way. Switching from a scorpion. Gonna be a bit of a change getting back into an ergo but do to supply issues with the scorpions at the moment over seas and my current and future work load I think the bigger head and crane power will be much better suited for me.

It's awesome so far. You will never want another H7. It eats up trees that you'd be babying through the head and hoping the H7 doesn't drop. It will out produce the H7 by a good bit in medium to bigger size wood.

That should be a great machine for ya. They having trouble getting parts to build the Scorpions or what kind of supply issues are they running into?

@@ponsseguy I was gonna go with a new scorpion I think originally, many improvements compared to my ‘16. But the big issue they’re running into is casts and material for them to make the whishbone part of the boom so anything beyond about 10-12 weeks out from now will be delayed and pushed back to October at the earliest, if not the first of the year. But that was a couple weeks back and now with ponsse plc pulling out all stops to Russia which consumes 20% of their yearly global business perhaps there will be machines available but I miss the big cab, power of the sliding boom and my current and future work load seems to navigate towards bigger timber so I think I’ll stick with the ergo and give it a go. The visibility will be a touch change but I’ve got years and thousands of hours in an ergo prior to my scorpion so I should adapt back fine.

@@JeremyStreu yea I wondered if Ponsse stopping shipment to Russia would free up some stuff for us guys. I guess time will tell how long that stays in place. I've never run a Scorpion but I've been hearing the crane is a little weak. No such problems with the C5, I don't know of a crane more powerful in the size class. Especially on lift power but swing power is awesome as well but I suppose that's the same as your Scorpion. I ran a 931 for a month or 2 and there's some nice things about the visibility on that style machine but particularly on the 931 there's some downfalls as well. Personally I don't have a problem with the Ergo visibility but if they were to come around with a more powerful Scorpion/H8 combo I'd be game to try it.

@@ponsseguy from what I’ve heard they halted all equipment and parts to Russia as well as pulling back any finish citizens which will all combined practically cripple any companies or machines unless they got a stockpile of parts or other supply chains. Rumors of a scorpion king HD with an H8 and more robust crane and frame are out there but nothing confirmed yet. The parallel style crane has good pulling power as it’s configured that way but lifting is lackluster in big wood, swing gears are the same as c5 but with the weight of the cab and that heavy wishbone definitely impacts it. The scorpion definitely shines in the marginal wood and most certainly in tight thinnings. But I’m hoping not to have many of those anymore
