Context: This video takes place during the siege of Budapest, which lasted from 29th December 1944 to 13rd February 1945. Lot of historians consider this battle to be a "second Stalingrad" due to the high casualties and urban fighting. The music is "Esik az eső, ázik a heveder" which was a popular song used during the 1848-49 hungarian revolution.

Oh a Hungarian comrade? Exiting! I'm a Hungarian citizen but living abroad. I got involved in the movement here in the US. It's almost a mirror image. Class conciousness is fairly high amongst the workers, but objective conditions have not yet raised the question of insurrection. Back home, the objective conditions are 100% there, but the subjective factor is almost entirely absent due to the lingering of stalinism.

@@gaborkohut690 Miklós Horthy had an attempt of exiting the war but that failed since Nazi Germany took hostage of his son and threatened to kill him so Horthy failed. After that Horthy resigned, Nazi Germany an the Nyílasok took controll over Hungary even though the war was already almost over
