- In this video we will journey to the world's largest ship cemetery on the Skeleton Coast of Namibia. The Skeleton Coast is a 40km wide and 500 km long coastal stretch in Namibia, a hostile but fascinating area. Here the cold and unpredictable Benguela Current clashes with the dune and desert landscape of north-western Namibia. Shipwreck Lodge is our last destination of our wonderful Namibian adventure and also the only accommodation facility located on the desolate and world-renowned Skeleton Coast. The lodge and cabins are one-of-a-kind in the world, resembling the stranded ships that litter the shores and waters of this coastline.
Nice place to stay, no doubt. It is quite pricey though! Along the coast, I have made it only up to Terrace Bay, and then also explored the area coming from the interior, driving down the dry bed of the Hoarusib River from Purros.
Yes, staying there is not cheap. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. The Skelton Coast is such a beautiful and unique place to visit. We also really enjoyed our drive in the dry Hoarusib River bed. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment!
