OMG! I was there, in Nice, at this Jazz Festival. I wasn't happy with my view so I climbed a tree and watched Al Jarreau's performance from above, perched atop the tree....this happened! I love this extraordinary man's body of work - & his amazing spirit - of course. ❤
Heart broken. Mr. Jurreau brought me back from such a dark place in life to realization that there is light and all I had to do was embrace getting my boogie down. Such a simple phrase with so much power. We've lost such a light but we can keep it burning.

I have actually heard that outside of all the ingenious display of creative music he did he was one of your more friendlier artist's you could have ever possibly meet in the music industry and had the personality to back it up unlike any other out there.
beautiful video !! Magnifique!! his musicians seem like they are enchanted by him when he is singing and he is POSSESSED by the music and the sounds. He transmitted that possession to the public. RIP AL.

Something ENTIRELY different, than today's performances by current artists. Al was a true artist. A guy with his own, 100% unique style. Like MJ, Tina Turner, David Byrne, David Bowie, and all the other great ones. I'm glad Christine & The Queens are performing at least. But overall there's way too much "look at me, I'm famous, so I don't have to do a thing on stage" in today's music. Now, I'm not saying that in bitter way. I like lots of the music produced. The performances and personality is simply lacking.

What's so evident is he LOVED the music...he was THERE...IN IT....
What I liked most of all the live performances I saw Al was his interaction with audience and this unique experience you had during the concerts.
When he finished this performance I felt like giving him a big hug and thank him for existing
