UMS 125 CC Five Cylinder Radial.

First start of new UMS 125 radial from Adrian at CH ignitions. Purchased in April 2022. Mounted on a Phoenix Waco ARF. 89 inch wing span. Set up weighs in at 28 lbs ready to fly with two 3300 MaH LiFe reciever batteries and one 2600 MaH Lith Ion running a two stage fuel pump and supplied RcXl ignition. Cylinders were 77 +- at start up and 130 +- after first five minute run between 1600 and 3000 rpm. Prop is recommended 26/10 wood Falcon and fuel is recommended 32:1 Amsoil dominator with 90 oct. rec fuel.
Radio is Spectrum DX 18 and AR12310T PowerSafe receiver.
Cams and Rockers we're lubed and checked before start up. Lash was factory set and lock nuts were checked and ok'd before run.
Started after rotation clearing and fuel intake on low pump setting. Choke on, seven flips or so to burp. Choke in five more to hit. Then came to life with two or three more. Ran between 1500-3000 for five minutes for first heat cycle.
Checked pretty consistent between 120 and 130 after run at exhaust spigots post run.

The exhaust note is really something, I love it idling, it sounds so much like a full-scale radial! And, to see the open push rods and rockers is the icing on the cake!

Captivating! Thank you for recording and sharing such fun milestones with the rest of us! I too have a WaCo, YMF 3, of 72’ W/S, with a Siato, 3cy radial, which just fits within the cowling… perhaps you’ll leave yours off? The five is a stunning marvel to gaze at!
My, my, I’m really really feeling inclined to seek an upgrade, and source a UMS, Siato, or an OS five, radial!
