That was over 30 yrs ago and it was proven that he never did anything to his own 3 children.. his children confirmed this. He went to jail for his crimes, went to therapy for yrs.. and it's been over 30 yrs without him doing anything like that again plus the fact that his own kids were never harmed so I think he's more than proven that he is reformed. His own wife who has a close relationship with his kids says she trusts him completely as far as that goes because she knows he never touched his own children and hasn't touched any child for over 30 yrs. In Iceland or Greenland I can't remember which one they terminate every baby that has Down syndrome every single one they have no Down syndrome people it's disgusting. She wasn’t able make good decisions she gave up all rights and found unfit when I was 10. She put me on a bus and plane to fly across USA to go be with former step dad. He didn’t want me either because of the extra burden. He wanted her but not us other three kids. She refused to go without me, so he got custody of us both. I have been dealing with birth defects and paying my own medical bills for surgeries. Parents didn’t want to deal with it. Some ppl are assholes 😐

I'm sure some people do get abortions there, but it's illegal after 20 weeks, so I don't think the agency should be encouraged to break the law. It would not bother me to adopt a child with downs. Times have changed and kids with downs have a lot more opportunities than before. But, all that aside, people I know of with downs have been very sweet and loving people. The baby will probably be a wonderfully kind person more than his parents(who left him behind) will ever be.

This is disgusting! I have a very good friend whose sister is down and she is learning very well and going to school and making new friends. When her mother and father found out she was Down the doctor offered to abort her, they didn't and they are very happy they didn't. She is now in second grade and is one of the most popular and most known kids in school.

She was told to terminate the defective embryo. Point blank they TOLD HER that they didn't want her to carry the disabled baby to term. A child with Downs is a life long burden for a family, a dangerous, money sucking, humiliating burden that they were not prepared to deal with. It wasn't her baby. They were renting her womb not adopting her child, so when she chose NOT to do as the actual parents wished she took that burden onto herself by her own choice. She has no one to blame but herself.

Yes they are great people! Better than most of us. They need to be protected and encouraged. My little cousin who has down syndrome also had a heart problem, he underwent heart surgery and joked just as soon as he woke up afterward! No complaining! He's a great person.

My sister in-law was a surrogate for a Taiwanese Couple. They had 3 eggs implanted, One was not viable but the other 2 were good. The family said they only wanted one so they made her " reduce". They totally didn't care that 2 babies were healthy. She offered to adopt one if they didn't want it. They declined and went ahead with the reduction.. They reduced buy piercing the baby's heart with needle full of potassium..

I'm sure there was a contract, but you're always taking a risk having children or just being alive in this world. Using a surrogate or even adopting from a foreign country with different laws, they should have done more research. It seems that abortion laws are quite strict in Thailand, so even if she wanted to abort, she couldn't have. Children are not some commodity you pick out on Amazon and return if it's not what you want. So this poor woman is forced to care for a child she can't afford because it's not the right "brand" of baby they wanted. Sometimes life doesn't go the way you planned. He's a beautiful child and deserves a lot better than those parents.

This wasn't China. Thailand is a different country and has very different laws. I'm sure some people do get abortions there, but it's illegal after 20 weeks, so I don't think the agency should be encouraged to break the law. This kind Thai woman took in a baby she couldn't afford because their parents didn't want it. There are sadder stories, but what the parents did was still wrong. I'm sure you weren't advocating that babies get thrown away, and unfortunately that happens in many countries all over the world.

just listened too the couple that left this little boy behind and kept the sister. the father wanted his money back when he found out his son had down syndrome , the couple claims the surrogate mother wanted to keep the boy which i do not believe. the most disturbing thing about all of this is, the father was in prison for a few years after abusing 3or4 little girls for a few years in his garden shed, the little girls were 5 to 7 years old, the man should not have a child in his custody and his wife knew he had done this to little girls in the past and still married him. his crocodile tears didn't wash with me, i hope the child and family welfare agency go in and remove his daughter asap. his wife needs to leave him but she claims she trusts her husband 100% seriously their both sick.

It would not bother me to adopt a child with downs. Times have changed and kids with downs have a lot more opportunities than before. But, all that aside, people I know of with downs have been very sweet and loving people. The baby will probably be a wonderfully kind person more than his parents(who left him behind) will ever be.

That’s the one issue that surrounds surrogacy, the biological parents want a perfect baby to be produced and don’t share the same bond as a mother who carries her own child and can feel the movement and kicking.
They told her to abort. That they did not want to bring a downs syndrome child into the world. She ignored them. It wasn't her baby, they paid her 16,000 dollars to rent her womb....and by ignoring their wishes she took that burden onto herself. She has nobody but herself to blame now that she's stuck with a Downs baby.

This is disgusting! I have a very good friend whose sister is down and she is learning very well and going to school and making new friends. When her mother and father found out she was Down the doctor offered to abort her, they didn't and they are very happy they didn't. She is now in second grade and is one of the most popular and most known kids in school.

Would it be better to keep a child they couldn't care for? A heart defect is a real issue. I knew a woman who left her child all because she couldn't afford her kid to have a hand surgery.
So these parents have conditional love, be perfect or be abandoned. What happens if she is in an accident and becomes disabled or if she gets sick with diabetes or some other issues? Will they abandon her if she grows up and have a learning disability or mental problem? What happens if she makes poor grades in school? I fear for the little girl.

Downies often need special education to have a successful life and the heart condition would also mean he’d be in and out of hospitals, so he would be behind in life.

as of today, this little boy is still with the surrogate mother. he's got a good life, no they aren't rich but he's well taken care of. the surrogates mother, grandma and sister are helping her raise him, she's also gotten a fiance that's stepped into the father role.

If you watch the 60 min interview they say that by the time they found out it was too late to terminate but they would have if it was caught earlier...so not really false. The surrogate couldn't have done it regardless because of the timing.

Read a lot hear. I had test & all done. Every pregnancy perfect! Had 3 kids. Last child is disabled. I love him more then life. He is my everything. If I knew ahead of time I will still have him. In the future something might happen to this healthy baby that may leave her disabled then what? Abandoned her or take her to the one that carried her 9mths???
