Cleveland Williams was 9 years older and couldn't train properly the entire year because he was in a hospital after a .357 magnum bullet hit him point blank in the stomach then lodged in his right hip. Williams had to undergo four operations in the next seven months. Williams right kidney had to be removed in June 1965. Doctors could not extract the bullet, which had broken his right hip joint and caused partial paralysis of some of the hip's muscles, he also lost over 10 feet of his small intestine, and sustained nerve damage which affected his left leg above the knee and caused it to atrophy as a result. Williams hung on and survived, his weight went down to 150 lbs during his recovery stage. A shadow of himself, 10 feet of intestines and one kidney removed, limping with nerve and hip damages, he was a physical and mental wreck but needed the money. The Texans in the boxing business knew Williams had virtually no chance against Ali. But it was Williams one-shot at the title, so he took it. It was a vomit inducing display of point and shoot for Ali, probably the low point in his heavyweight run. Rocky Marciano.
@@Olds_Pwr Damn dude Rocky wouldn't have stood a chance. It was a different sport back then. It was just 2 guys trading blows until one guy went down. You watch any of Rock's fights and he spends most of the bout with his head resting on the other guys shoulder taking five seconds to dial up that hammer punch of his. Look at this fight? Ali spends 90% of it four feet away from Williams stepping in when he feels like it. Marciano would get dominated under this style of fighting especially given he was 5'10 with 68 inch reach and Ali is 6'3 with a 78 inch reach. It would be a bloodbath. Marciano would struggle to even land a glove on Ali.
no one can beat ALI in his dancin feet mode 😂
agreed 100%
Ali in 66 67 no heavyweight beat him any era wrong what they did taking is titles at 25 coming into is prime frazier norton foreman no chance v ali in 66 67 ali win nearly every rd
Correct and I noticed 3 knock down he faced was when he was not dancing … Frazier Cooper and earlier one before his professional period. ..
Wow, how graceful and fluid Ali was when he was young! Cleveland was a hard puncher, but Ali danced around him successfully.
One ting about Ali - his punches were really accurate, even at a distance. I guess his power punches were fast enough to close the distance before his opponents could move out of the way.
This is the best Briliant prime artist Ali🎉
this is not fighting. this is how one does boxing. not fighting but boxing. there is a difference.

@@paulneville8172 i am with you on that.
He was an entertainer...
Worth watching him fight...
Boxing perfection. Boxing as art .Don't you you love it.?
I was always very amused/impressed by the way Ali didn't bother to put his hands up to defend himself, but instead, just moved his head out of the way of punches. Those fists would go whistling past his head.
When he ain't playing and clowning around he's a pretty good boxer
What the hell are you talking about
Muhammad Ali was matrix this time
THE ONE AND THE ONLY...MUHAMMAD ALI
"Terbang seperti kupu kupu menyerang bagai lebah" Itu lah muhammad ali😊
He was a genius in a ring
Now I see what he means when he says float like a butterfly 🦋…masterpiece 🥊
Ali in his best prime magic🇵🇸🇲🇦🎉
All time Greatest 👌 ❤️ 🌹
On this particular night, no boxer past or present was beating Ali. I'm not saying he'd knock out everyone but he most certainly would not have lost. Displays of godlike perfections such as this fight make the sweet science unmatched. Rest in peace King.
Nobody beats this version of Ali
Joe Frazier did it.
Doug Jones came very close.
So it is actually an extrapolation.
@@sidharthk2793I think this fight took place before his 3 years suspension... against Jones he was still on his learning curve while against Frazier (1st fight) he was definitely ring-rust

Are you sure. his next fight was title shot against Liston. How can you claim such bizzare things? Nobody is a novice when he is the number 1 contender.
Liston in his prime beats this Ali. People forget but look at how Sonny Liston dismembered cleveland williams when williams was in his prime. Ali is the second best heavyweight of all time
Welterweights out there couldn't move that fast and that balanced. Ali at his peak beats everyone, nobody could deal with what he had.
Goat 🐐
His Name is Ali, got it.
The best Ali ever looked. Slippery, lightning quick, powerful, able to throw power shots from angles totally unexpected and even while going backward.
I don’t know what HW ever has a chance against this version of Ali. Frazier? I don’t think he’d have the same success here. Norton? Lewis? Getting chinned. Louis? Doubtful, too plodding in terms of foot movement to deal with this Ali. Tyson? Just don’t see him being able to land what he needs to. Foreman? Lol, he couldn’t even beat a worse version of Ali. Holmes? Not happening, Holmes never looked as good as this. Holyfield? I mean, he won’t get knocked out, but he’ll lose big on the cards. Liston? This version of Ali already beat him twice.
Any modern day top 10 HW will destroy Ali
What a stupid comment lol. This prime Ali would beat any modern top 10 hw today within a single year.@@joetrie

Such a pity we lost a few of his best years with this speed because of the military
How do you knock someone down backwards? Cleveland Williams must've felt like he was fighting three men at one time !
He outclassed than Ali, but he never gave up. What a fighter 👍
The Best Ever Boxing Shoe Danced and The Best Dancing Shoes Ever
Image if Ali had been gut-shot with .357 magnum and almost died 4 times on the operating table, and was fighting a year or so later.
Ignoring any and all facts his fans stand firm in their beliefs that Ali was magical the night he fought Cleveland, striking him like ⚒️-THOR-⚒️ and moving around with the speed of ⚡-FLASH-⚡Some eyewitnesses even swore it looked as if Ali was floating on 🌊-WATER-🌊. He was faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, Ali was Super-🦇-Man.

No one has ever boxed like that, a total one off, Williams was murderous, he just got rolled over, beyond awesome. Ov all times.

10 years older than Ali!
Williams was shot by police 2 years prior with a 357 magnum ( bullet stillin his body) couldnt train because he was hospitalized with kidney; and nerve damage his intestines and 1kidney removed only a shell of himself took the fight because he needed the pay he only weighted 212 when is normal weight is at 232 lbs
