Loving the new A6700 Stu. It's an absolute cracker. Like you I was leaning towards an FX30 but have no regrets with the added bonus of it being a genuine hybrid camera. Loving your channel and LUTS. Keep up the great work. Nick
I've just invested in the A6700 and I'm really happy with it, especially the 10 bit recording. I've noticed a big difference when using Davinci Resolve, it's quite a bit slower than post processing 8 bit files. I tend to colour grade using the quarter resolution timeline proxy mode.
The “Sigma Freeze” has been solved by Sigma with a firmware update that mentions just that. I recomand everyone to do it. I was having the same problems.
The front dial is worth the upgrade for photos even if you ignore the focus stacking and improved subject recognition. I don't know why people keep saying the a6600 is just as good if you're only doing photos.
Great video Stuart. Love your input on your experiences compared to full frame. Do you ever wish it had dual card slot? I wonder if you can back up via usb c if attaching a drive…
Your comment about photos on this camera versus the previous ones make me feel better about my a6600. I take a lot more photos with this camera than I thought I would, I was big into filming and editing with a GoPro Hero 7. Photography is just simpler and more relaxing next to a full time job. Also I finally remembered to download your new urban 2 preset pack, these are awesome! Love how they look.
I checked your videos, they tell me that you have a lot to improve on. If you are trying to tell a story - you have to understand your audience. For me it was language, but it's alright for you, your country and culture there is important for you. Other than that most significant things I noticed was your quality - why not use the 4k capabilities you have on a6700, makes 1080p look like a joke. Third thing, narrative - how you tell the story, is there a begging, middle or ending? Editing, take lessons from video directors or creators you like, make it smooth on choices so there aren't awkward segments or cuts. Overall, take notebook and study more, there is plenty to learn in UA-cam.
@@offjanisOMG this is what I need, thank you so so so much bro, I’ll improve for next videos, even I took a screenshot about your comment, it’s very helpful thanks again!! 🫡
Totally agree with you on the APSC vs Full frame keynote.....unless you are relying on it for your livelihood no brainer to go with the less expensive/lightweight ecosystem.
There was an update from Sigma around 16th November 2023 that address 'instability' with the 16/30/56mm lenses with a6700 so worth updating if you haven't already
Awesome! Looks like I fell into the same ecosystem, and I have no idea what I'm doing lol. A6700, 16mm and going for the same sort of talking head style you're doing. Thanks for the content!! Subbed
Something I noticed at 5:01 is the memory card door sealing disintegration. Same happened to me but I didn't expect that poor build quality from sony particularly in that area.. Everything else is mind blowing and amazing!
Hi, Hope you are well. Since you are using two cameras (The ZV-E10 and a6700), I would like a suggestion from you. My main job is to make indoor videos. Like DIY, craft making, painting video making etc. Also, outdoor videos are just the occasional tour vlogging video. In terms of photography, only street photography and nature photography are my hobbies. Between Sony A6700 and Sony ZV-E10 which would be better overall and value for money in my case? I want to use this camera for a long time. Please help me. Thank you
Great video! Definitely going to purchase the a6700 to expand my sports videography. One question I had however is what type of lens should I buy with it? I saw a bundle with a 24-70 mil lens and think it would work, but am also open to buying just the body and a seperate frame. Any suggestions?
How hot does it get? Like hot as in overheating to shut down? How continuously would one be shooting during a wedding to enable the camera to shut down? Thanks
Now you mention it, it could be the 56 🤦🏻♂️ I have a new comparison video coming real soon where I compare all lenses being used with a gimbal - think it’ll come in useful for you 👍🏻
@@StuartRodwell would you trust it for some paid gigs? I want something that’ll last 5+ years and like the idea of being able to venture into semi pro photo and video work (I wouldn’t go near a wedding lol)
I have an A7 III and I'm always too scared to take it out because it's so big. I had no problem taking out a little Canon Eos M2. :/ I'm debating trading it in for an a6700, plus I want to start doing more YT so the a6700 would be better for that.
SOUNDS COOL!! I SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR CHANNEL!! - 2 QUESTIONS: 1) What landscape lens do you recommend for this camera? 2) if I bought this camera, would those new settings already be there by default or would I have to do a firmware update to get it?
Thank you 🙏🏻 1, I’d probably look at the 18-50mm zoom (the larger aperture of the primes won’t be as essential for landscapes) 2, Not sure what you mean by ‘new settings’
I am a Sony camcorder user, but would like to upgrade to the a6700. I do a fair amount of run and gun shooting, so body and lens stability are essential. Also I want to control zoom from the body not the lens therefore a power zoom lens seems the better option. Any suggestions for pz lenses to use?
Hi everyone, im a new sony user from canon, Got my 6700. Ques; anybody knows why sony doesnt have the continuous auto focus when the photo timer is on? the AF-C wont work which i rely on 90% of the time as a solo content creator taking my own moving street photos using my tripod. Its only set on AF-A & results to me being blurred as the subject and the background is sharp when i do walking shots. Is this really sony's feature? How to fix this? Thanks a lot
Hey, can you shoot 4k 10-bit 4:2:2 files, on a v90 SD or do you need a CFexpress Type A? also i have a macbook m2 pro 14 inch, and there is a built in SD card slot in it, will it read a CFexpress type A Card or I need to buy a fancy card reader? LOved the ViDeo, crispy AF.
You can shoot 4K 10-bit 4.2.2 on the v90, v60, or v30. Your MacBook will read SD cards but not CFexpress A cards - you’ll need an CFexpress A card reader. But the a6700 doesn’t take CFexpress A cards - only SD cards 👍
Why do you regret it? Our production company have two A6400's as B roll cameras for second camera to an FX6. We often use one of them for photography and one for B roll. They never miss a beat and deliver on every project we use them on. I agree with Stu these are great cameras in the right hands.@@lahiruweerarathna3771
How are people getting on with their A6700's?
Sony a6700 my first ever camera 😌
so far so good. I paired it with the Viltrox 75mm 1.2. The BSI sensor is a major upgrade over the 6600 sensor

Just a heads up, at the point of putting this live, Sony released firmware v1.02 for the A6700.

I shoot mostly wildlife/birds and updated from the a6000 for the video and improved autofocus. I still use my two a6000s for photos too.
Picture quality is better than the a6000? I read in a lot of reviews that picture quality is pretty similar
I honestly haven't looked to see if there is a difference. @@danielurenabenitez2777
With the overheat, you wont run into it unless your doing 60 or 120FPS. Under 25-30 you can run the battery dry before it cooks up.
I'd love for you to review the FX30 and take pictures with it to show us it's potential for photography.

I have had issue with the Sigma prime but the firmware updates from Sigma solved it for good.
