- Today's video will cover cleaning up the cheap Kawasaki that was recently brought into my shop. I wanted to get this thing cleaned up really well before I went any farther on it, in case it has some major issues under the grime. You can see how it turns out.

It's amazing how much an unloved bike can be cleaned up.
I’m not even that good at detailing but it turned around pretty good. No complaints for the price paid!
That's a great find, and it validates what I've told many people. You can buy or find a wonderful adventure(ing) bike for whatever your budget may be. Then they can go ride as far as they desire. Great job on this one Tom!
This will definitely deliver an adventure at a bargain price. Sweat equity can go a long way.
Great job nice ride
Thank you, I kind of did things out of order…should be getting it mechanically done first but it’s nice to work on a clean bike.
Progress!...I'm with you on those 3M splicers, lazy & ineffective over time. Much rather solder & heat shrink wrap. Still can't believe $250 for bike & trl'r! 😁👍
A lot of controversy about solder on vehicle wiring, it makes brittle connections. Yeah, this bike is a good deal
As a former GTR 1000 owner I feel a bit homesick when I look at your video... You are doing a terrific job on this bike! Iny opinion this is one of the most underrated bikes out there
Kawasaki seems to have a few bikes in that underrated sector. The Concours is a great bargain sport touring bike, not the best but really good and affordable. The KLR650 fits that mold as well, just a good affordable dual sport. More to come on this Concours!
I agree with you, the similarity in my opinion between those two bikes is that Kawasaki doesn't always design the best looking/appealing bikes. But maybe that is just my taste 😂
@@joostvandeelen I can agree with that. They also seem to get a pretty good bike early and then ride it out for a long time. The Concours and KLR didn't change much for 20 years.
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures so true Tom!
I liked mine a lot better without the black trim around the wind screen.
I might pull that off and see. I bought some better polish to clean it up more
Cheaper to rehabilitate (mostly) a used bike than build a new one.
Yeah, sometimes a bike like this can have too many issues that end up costing a lot, but I think this one is looking good.
Tom, I'm enjoying your channel. I'm just getting into motorcycles as I plan on getting my first bike. I'm thinking of getting the new Honda 125 trail bike first and eventually getting a tour bike once I feel comfortable with my riding skills.
Thank you. Those Trail 125’s look nice, I have an old Trail 90 that I installed a 125 engine in. I think I made a video about it?
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures Cool! I'll check it out. I live in Colorado so I plan on using it to do some camping in the mountains.
@@shaunhall960 I have a couple videos traveling to Colorado as well, my sister used to live there.
Can i buy it 🥹
I’m planning a trip when the bike is completely gone through.
Novus plastic polish is amazing stuff
@@mdean3603 it’s good stuff for sure.
