Yes, this is how we perceived it in Slovakia (formerly Czechoslovakia) in the 90s, when American series and films began to be broadcast in our country after the fall of the Iron Curtain. But after all the terrible things I've experienced with my health, I'm glad I live here...14 years ago, I became seriously ill. I got swine flu virus A(H1N1), multi-organ failure, 3 months in a coma in the ICU, another months of follow-up treatment. And permanent consequences with kidney failure, for 13 years I had to go on expensive dialysis 3 times a week, I had difficult joint operations, I have titanium hip joints, the entire femur, joint, ankle and difficult stays in the hospital and months in rehabilitation institutions, monthly I take thousands of Euro worth of medication, and a year ago, after only six months of waiting, when I was included in the transplant program,
I received a kidney from a dead donor. And what cost to me? Zero. Only mandatory health insurance in tens of Euros (Dollar has the same value here) per month.. Yes, our health care is not in the best condition, but that is not the fault of the system setup, it is good, but the fault of the politicians who stole from the health care through planted companies billions. We also have paid maternity (and paternity) leave of up to 3 years!, medicines prescribed by a specialist doctor are free, once a year a preventive check-up at the dentist is free, of course birth and postpartum care of the newborn (mandatory) is free, vaccinations, etc., etc. My mother was treated for cancer, unfortunately she lost the battle, but she didn't pay anything, insulin and such medicines are of course free, or with only a small additional payment... There is also a mandatory and paid employee leave of 4-6 weeks, etc., etc. When I hear that the Americans have to pay for everything, I feel sorry for them... They should put pressure on the government so that at least some of these ends, which are completely obvious to us, are fulfilled. We are a young democracy, we used to be a socialist block behind the "Iron Curtain", we have big problems with corruption in politics, but such "conveniences" have been a matter of course for over 100 years.
Greetings from Slovakia, formerly Czechoslovakia in Central Europe

A man telling his wife (I assume she was his wife) that he was okay to visit the Puy du Fou but he did not want to any "foreigners" while doing it.... Like, man, sorry to break it to you but YOU are the foreigner, not the French people living here 🙄 if you do not want to see French people, do not come to France... same with any other countries.

I suspect most people in the world are sick of hearing how the US won WW2 like they were the only participants... Of course they forget that the rest of the world was at war over 2 years before the US joined in... and even then, it was only because the Japanese provoked them at Pearl Harbour. It would be interesting to see what would have happened if the Japanese hadn't attacked.

    Canadian healthcare:
I got hit by a car at 21 and broke my leg badly. I was rushed to a hospital in an ambulance, had surgery to put a pin in it, got a brainscan because my head whacked the windshield good, had a week and a half in the hospital, had a cast, then later a "boot" and a cane, and a few months of physiotherapy. Cost to me: $0.
My mother had severe diabetic complications in the last several years of her life. She couldn't drive and had Mr Magoo style glasses, was pretty much legally blind, was on dialysis, had nerve pain, had a foot amputated and needed a wheelchair and we had to add a ramp to the back deck, she needed a care worker to come out during the day, had several cardiac episodes leading to ambulance rides to and lengthy stays in the hospital. This did hit us financially, but if we were in America I have no doubt we'd have lost our house.
I was diagnosed borderline diabetic myself at around 30, went to the hospital, got an IV, a bunch of blood tests, a blood monitor with a bunch of needles and strips, was briefly prescribed two daily pills, was enrolled in a week long educational class for diabetics, and for several years - until diet and exercise got it under control - went to a blood clinic every 6 months followed by an appointment with my GP to go over the results. Cost to me: about $20 - 30 for the blood monitor with needles and strips and another $15 - 20 for the two bottles of pills they prescribed.
During one of my follow ups with my GP he saw a red blotch on my back that he didn't like. He referred me to a specialist who scheduled an operation to slice it off, after which he gave me an ointment to apply to the area daily for a few weeks. Cost to me: $0.
America sounds like a nightmare. Like most I grew up on a lot of American TV and movies and such, but as I got older I could very clearly see that the reality didn't match the entertainment at all. Forget moving there, I'm hesitant to visit these days. It seems to be a third world country.

From a (Western) European perspective the US prison system is cruel, torturous and has some slave labour. A good perspective on this can be the video "How Norway's Prisons Are Different From America's | NowThis" which shows the Norwegian prison system, radically different from the US variant. Also there is a huge "hidden" factor that is in plain view for the rest of the world. American prisons are for profit. And there are alot of private prison systems that get payed by the inmate. This gives an incentive for private prisons to cut costs. Costs on basic living neeeds where family members need to fill an account with money so the inmate can buy basic need (commissary account).
They can also cut costs on guards and rely on CCTV only with 1 guard in a crows nest that needs to call for backup if shit hits the fan en response times are low. Inmates need to fend for themselve and their own safety. Inmates with no gang affiliations come out of prison with gang affiliations for protection. Inmates going for short streteches of months end up with sentences of years for added time for just defending themselves.
All this because its an incentive for private prisons to create living standarts that will most likeley result in added prison time so inmates stay inside longer so they can make more profit per inmate.
And als said before. Profit of their forced labour for pennies on the dollar.

Hindu isn't from India either. Original Hindu is Indonesia not in India.
Hindu in India and in Bali are totally different
Indus, Indo, Hindia, Hindu = Indus Islands = Indo Nesos = Indonesia.
The same with Astrology came from Indonesia not by the Greeks, Egyptians nor Aramaic/Arabs/Jews.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam are just frauds branches of modified Hinduism in India.
Real Hindu came from Indonesia not India.
Hindu, Hindia, Indus, Indo, etc = Indo Nesos, Indus islands, Indonesia over 17000 islands, exactly on the center of the equator line, the center of all civilization, all Indo around the world came from here especially because of eruption of Toba supervolcano Sumatra 75000 years ago bigger than Yellowstone USA, resulted today world's largest volcanic lake Toba Sumatra.

Hi there, Russia calling. Last year I found a strange tumor in my breast and went to ultrasound to check it. After several visits to my local doctor in the state hospital I belong to I was sent to the oncologic hospital to have a biopsy of the tumor. I was diagnosed with breast cancer so I was assigned to have several chemotherapy courses and surgery. Right after I learnt my diagnosis I left for sick leave and my employer paid me a quite good compensation. I was on sick leave for six months and I wasn`t fired. And I didn`t pay a rouble for consultations at any medical establishment I visited, not a single copeck for chemotherapy, mastectomy I had and for my stay in the oncologic hospital. Everything was covered by our NHS. All I paid for is public transport and suburban trains tickets when I was being tested in my native town and in the capital of my region. And I have nothing but only good memories about my chemotherapist, my surgeons and nurses who took care of me during that time. Now I`m being paid a disability pension from the state and I`m being taken care of by a special social service while I`m on my rehab. That`s it. I don`t even want to imagine if I could survive all this in the US.

On top of that I can use my four weeks annual leave after that if needed. Even after that you have the option of unpaid sick leave. At no point would a company just fire their employees.
And if staff were having ongoing health issues the companies here would sit down with the individual to work out a plan to assist in recovery for example decreasing daily work hours or changing there role.

The support of Afghanistan freedom fighters that ultimately gave birth Al Quaida
Could you please quote my part where I portrayed Germany is a beacon of light, because it isn’t, this country has a lot of improvement to do, as any other country, there is no such thing as perfect country. You don’t know me, you are implying that I am a proud German citizen, well I am not, I don’t care how the soccer team does at World Cup, I don’t wave a German flag, I don’t sing the anthem. I spent more than a year living in the USA as well - a year that I both loved and hated. It bankrupted me (yes, due to health issues, but also due to the US banks main business model being theft), and I was living in an incredibly weird mix of decent hardworking people or fantastically creative people and straight up psychopaths, all stewing in a combination of interest and opinion on everything despite being ignorant about mostly everything, with hardly any actual rights or freedom beyond soundbites. That was 2 decades ago - now I see something that looks more like a slow-moving civil war.
The USA has huge potential, utterly betrayed by those who quote the enlightenment idealism of the (slave-owning) founding fathers every day, whilst managing in reality what looks more like a mediaeval peasant culture than anything else - corporate slavery/serfdom :(

It's really nice to see more and more american reactions about comparisons between the economic giant that the U.S. is and the rest of the world.
The last 2 videos showed some important topics revolving around social and workers rights, but I can also suggest a great series of nicely subbed videos
on recent american history. I'd assume the topic is not really taught in depth, if at all, since it's a delicate one for the U.S., but i'd recommend checking out:
"Volker Pispers History of the USA and terrorism". A nice example of german political cabaret, putting the finger where it hurts.
So far enjoying the open minded approach to learning about the world, keep it going :)

In Bulgaria, we also have a fixed amount of sick days. You can't get more then 6 mouths of paid sick leave per year. But if you need they will give you more, but it's not going to be paid. Also only if you are sick for 3 or less days it's payed by the employer, after that is paid by the state.

When you treat people like animals, whether before or in prison, as is the case in the U.S., you don't have to be surprised if they act like animals when they get out of prison.

Yeah, pretty powerful video, isn’t it? The more you learn - you say, and it’s true; you are learning more and more and that sets you apart from the rest.
Can you stay and live in the US? Yes, if you have money. That still does not solve the problem the country has but, you probably will be better off elsewhere. Anyway, I’m glad to see one more Americans getting educated and informed. Keep it up!
    Kind regards from Sweden

When our son was born in California our Swedish Health Care covered the 3 days in the hospital plus we had 1 years
of of parent leave pay so we could be at home with our child, and we were not in Sweden!! nuff said. We also received “ Barn bedrag” Child support money every month until he was 18. It’s automatic and our taxes are at work and visible and actually working therefore we are very happy with our Swedish Tax System

Indeed, there's some good channels comparing various aspects of traffic and transportation systems and all that of various countries. With a few rare exceptions here and there, the USA _again_ look horrible with their utter car dependency and how they've managed to make all the alternatives at best very inconvenient, at worst outright life threatening (such as using bicycles for commuting).
Hell, I live in a medium-sized town (~180.000 people) here in Germany, and I haven't owned a car in over two decades, and only needed a rented car every couple of years for special occasions. I even only very rarely use the bus or train, and the connections are pretty damn good here (though they could always be better... though we're definitely closer to Switzerland's level than the USA's... 😋)

It's absolutely not complicated. It's the most straight-forward thing in the world, that no one in this country ever wants to talk about. What we do with Healthcare, and Pharma isn't dumb if you happen to be an executive for, or own stock in those companies. It makes them disgustingly wealthy, and it only requires the sacrifice of a few tens of thousands of lives a year to maintain. It also requires BOTH parties in government happily do the bidding of those corporations, but it turns out that's not too difficult to get them to do. Just a little petty bribery, and their priorities become everyone's priorities.
Oh, the thing you are talking about with the political parties would be the two party duopoly. The parties control the election process to such an extent that you will likely never get the chance to vote 3rd party, or if you do they'll lose, or even if they win you have a couple decent people in a legislative branch of 535 criminals. It's pointless.

I think the states are doomed and trapped in this cycle of pain. The lobbies are too strong, and the two-party system successfully keeps everything that could make a change happen away. The only way is a complete restart and for that, the system has to collapse completely.

In Belgium, you have a set amount of sick days guaranted BY LAW (I think it's minimum 30 days) if you spend them all, you fall under the mutuality care (our health insurance system but it's paid by taxes and it's public service who is literally FORBIDDEN to make profit) who makes sure you get a revenu allowing you to live. Ho and they DON'T LOOSE THEIR RIGHT TO MEDICAL CARE. A medicine who's refunded or covered by mutuality is covered no matter who buy it ! Hospital don't even ask you to which one they need to send the bill (we have several with different management who can be more or less interesting depending if you are a salary worker or a freelance, etc) until AFTER the care has been given.

1119 for an MRI scan is pretty absurd. I got one when I was a teenager, after someone at a party persistently claimed that I had slammed my head against a bathroom sink. I didn't have any recollection of it, but I went to the hospital in Oslo, Norway anyway. The scan cost me about $50, and I thought that was a lot 😅 They didn't see any indications of blunt trauma, and I'm pretty sure the other guy was either really drunk, or just being an ahole 🤔

Fun fact about a flag. Where I'm from, sweden, there used to be a law that said that a flag that touched the ground had to be burned so that no defiled flag would be rised.
Cant remember when this was exactly but around 2010-2014. There where protest against sweden in turkey. And the took the swedish flag, draged it in the mud and then burned it.
The law was removed 40-50 years before this but everyone that I talked to about this laughed and said something along the line of "if you try to offend another culture, read up so you know whats offensive".

We also have what we call high-cost protection, so you never pay more than SEK 2,600 (247 USD) for medicine or SEK 1,200 (115 USD) for doctor's visits / year.
