Very interesting because it seems that everyone else is complaining about Canon RP at Lowlight possibilities /noise and autofokus. So it is good to make this comparison showing what is going on really.
Well those complaints are completely valid. It’s $1,099 USD for the body or $1,299 with the 24-105 kit lens and the camera is turning two years old in March 2021. The A7 II is going to be a six year old camera in nine months. When compared to relatively new cameras that are $1,000 to $1,300 many consider it a disappointment.
You can find it in the description of the video. It's: - Black Level: -4 - Gamma: Cine1 - Black Gamma: Middle / -4 - Color Mode: Cinema - Saturation: +15 - Detail: +4
Great comparison, true review, not something other youtubers says, sony best, sony great, sony future...blah blah. Canon made cameras that work for photographers, not for gearheads
The Sony A7 Mark 2 is a very old camera. The EOS RP came out after the Sony A7 Mark 3. The main reason for this comparison is because of the similarity in price.
Fair comparation between two cheap full frame cameras ,even though one is much older and way cheaper. . Once again thanks for the effort and good work. The sony for the cheap price that can be pick up used or new and been full frame, to be use for adapting old manual glass is just perfect
Interesting, appears that the Sony offers more if you are willing to fiddle / fix in post. Me, I'm a snapper so it's Canon all the way. Good review - thank you.😎😎😎
Different price range - The R is the competitor there. But I'm gad they did this, because Sony fanboys have been harping on about the RP being worse value than an A7II - this video proves otherwise, the RP is significantly better from what I can see.
@@Cagey7531 I agree, considering also Eye AF factor I think the older Sony fullframe to invest with is the RII, still small battery and single slot but resolution and better AF is a good deal. I don't like RP, huge 4K crop btw and not so noticeable specs as still camera (where I prefer my x-h1). :)
Well it is a "Video Comparison" and this means that it compares video quality, not that it is a video that compares the cameras. For video is kind of no brainer none of them are good, but if you have to pick the Canon RP is just better (and pricier). But I believe for photos the A7 II with better DR and image stabilization is a better pick.

Why do all Sony videos look out of focus?
4K video from the a7 III is crazy sharp...supersampled from the entire 6K sensor.
May i know what is the full setting of your PP1, phase +3 when you take portrait, the skin colour is so nice

Thanks. Yes the Sony has the price advantage on his side, especially when there are special offers that make it a bargain brand new.
Canon Rp 🥰
What lens did you is on the Sony ? I have a a7ii ,and with no bias you can definitely get better sharper results then in the comparison.
35mm 2.8 ZA

great video, cheers.
Hi Mathieu. I would like your opinion on the performance of both cameras with adapted EF glass, specifically when it comes to auto focus.
It will be faster on the EOS RP.
Great comparison
Wow, what a comparison! The RP is the winner imo. What about eos rp vs Sony a7rii ?
What a shame you didn't do a side-by-side comparison of the image stabilisation.
Missed the comparison against A7III
We have EOS R vs A7 III
Different price range, better to compare two cameras in the same range.

Smelling a sony fanboi here
Did you prefer the jaundice skin effect on the A7ii? 🙄
Don't buy any of them!
Then what to buy?
CAM MAC A7iii
