You’re the man! That sure was fast!
In the early 1970, when I was a kid, I remember news reports each year about how the auto assembly lines were shutdown to retool for the new model. Later in life I learned that was mostly the time it took to rewire the relay logic. That went way down when Dick Morley developed the PLC which put most of that logic in the "silicon", later those PLCs were networked so they can just download the new programming.
I recently saw a video on the old punch card programming, something still around when I was in college. And that system has its roots in late 18th century punched hole, line by line patterns, for fabric weaving.
Is the thermo couple only in the frig part from the new controller ??
Throughly enjoyed this and totally learned something, thank you!
It's time to get drunk. 🍻
Glad you liked it! Cheers!
If you've never delved into how capillary tubes work, the only thing that makes them inefficient was lack of control of compressor and fan speed. I recommend the paper, Theory and Field Problems of the Capillary Tube, by Henry Ehrens, Sealed Unit Parts Co (SUPCO), Inc.. Cap tubes are even making it back into larger units with the inverter systems that get their efficiency from controlling compressor and fan speed to match the cap tube's self regulation.
As for needing to understand how it works:
‘We just have to keep going until we find out what’s wrong or find out why we don’t know what’s wrong.‘

I have the Same controller on My OWB only with Green LED's and a 0-10 vdc out for a remote display.
Cool video, I’ll try when my beer fridge kicks out👌🏻
Was so good to meet you in Primanti Bros! Still shocked!
It was great meeting you too! Be sure to catch the premier tonight at 6 and jump in the live chat!
As a dumb bastard, I would spend a lot of money to keep my beer cold if I can't fix what I got
I have 2 R12 20lb bottles still and no I'm not selling. Whern my dad said that they are changing over to I had 4 bottles bought thru my dad and 10 years ago I sold one for 800.00.
Alright Dan I’ll play your waiting game while my beer gets warm
Welp. Add that to the project list…
Funny how complicated things have gotten over time. A simple $20 controller off Amazon can do the heavy lifting.
I'm going away for a week. You mind stopping in everyday to feed the dog, the cat, water the plants, and defrost my evaporator coil?
just leave the key under the mat! lol
