- This quirky subject of choice is a fun loose ink and watercolor tutorial that's great for beginners or someone that just wants to get a quick sketch in for the day. Anna Maria City Jail is a big tourist attraction that draws people in to get a chance for a fun photo op. In this real time tutorial I will start off with my Lamy pen with Noodlers ink then add a wash of watercolor and finish off with some more ink.
*** I added more green colors in the end and cleaned up the top of the jail by adding water and blotting off some of the paint I didn't care for then added a few streaks down the top of the building with a Micron pen.

I think that will be awesome if you do quick 20 minute loose ink and watercolour tutorials. Honestly, I love your style, I have learned so much from watching you and doing all your tutorials, thank you
I love that! Thank you so much! 💕
@@KarenJohnsonArtist Just wanted to tell you that I am from Western Canada and visit my friend on Anna Maria Island every second year. I love especially seeing buildings from there and am heartbroken at what Helene has done. Two years ago when visiting we had a hurricane go through as well. I hope you and your family are safe - the destruction is just horrific
@@susantripp2249Hi, I hope to visit Anna Maria someday. We have been lucky with storms up until end of September. I’m nervous for what October will bring. Thank you for reaching out and hope your friend is okay.
I was getting worried that you wouldn’t use any of opera pink, but you finally threw some in there so I can breathe easily again 😂😂😂
I love your new attitude about sketching and your 20 minute videos ❤❤❤
I think they are fun to do and I can feel the freedom to express when they're smaller pieces of paper. Glad you agree. 💕
What a cool quirky building! I looked up Anna Maria Island on Google maps so I would know where this was! Love the free form shape of the building and the sketchiness of your lines. Love that part of urban sketching! Again with the purple shadow….. 💜💜. I agree with the spatters as you go along. It’s more spontaneous aka charming! Thanks again. Cheers!
PS… “locked up the Rowdies”. Bahahahaha
I'm loving indigo for shadows lately too.
Someone just informed me to call them spatters when I was sayings splatters. Splatters are bigger so now I know. ☺️
I'm hoping in the future I can go visit all these cool places I've been sketching. There's an art museum in Tampa that I think I can make a day trip out of. I miss Chicago's art museums, they are amazing!
It's always so good to see a new video of yours appear for me! And this one is quirky and lovely, as ever! Loose is lovely! Mx
Thank you! 😊
I like what you call the grunge! It's effective. Well I think so anyhow.
And I see you're using an actual pen for the sketc! Hmm is that part of the arts treats you got for yourself?!? 😊
Does the ink clogg the nib at all in between using the pen?
Mx
I like so much the way you transfer your information of the sketches. It give me less complex. Keep going. One of the best.
That's so nice to hear, thank you! 💕
Kinda fun is right!!!!!
So funny that they locked up the rowdies for the night in that tiny jail back in the day.
Karen I hope this note finds you safe given your weather there...Barbara
Cape Coral is okay and we are safe. Feel bad for anyone in helene's path. Thank you so much Barbara 😊
