If Jerrod was their intention, i feel like he'd be the OC already. It doesn't make sense if him and Bill were a part of the problems on Kirby. They certainly weren't a solution at any point last szn.
The Bears changed OC's mid season during Caleb's rookie year and they got better, Lamar has been through a ton of OC's and is good, and there's plenty of other examples. I don't care how comfortable C.J. is, and I couldn't care less if Jerrod Johnson had known C.J. since C.J. was a baby, we should've found out what Jerrod Johnson was in the middle of the season, but that ship sailed, due to Demeco's nepotism. Slowik should've been fired when we lost the Titans game, and Jerrod Johnson should've taken over Slowik's duties then. It would've given us a chance to see what he was made of, and maybe the team would've made the AFC title game, quite doubtful, but we were robbed of that (albeit *very* slim) possibility because Demeco decided to wait until after the season to see if someone would hire Slowik instead of firing him mid-season. If we hire Jerrod Johnson or Bill Lazor to be the OC it'll just be the same 'ol Texans, and I'll take a break from watching the team until Demeco and Caserio are gone. Also 7:28-7:42 You're an idiot that has 0 pulse on the fan base for saying that. Like hooooly shit you must be as oblivious as the Texans themselves, nothing would piss off 95% of the fan base more than Jerrod Johnson getting hired as the OC, lmao.
Can't drag this on too long. The sooner they settle this the sooner they can prep for everything else coming. I want the OC to settle in, get their staff in and start looking at the roster and draft prospects already.
Texans need en experienced OC like Nixon. The others are risky with no game experience in play calling and ability to make adjustments. RISKY. We don't need a trainee as a OC.
IMO, promoting Johnson or Lazor does nothing for confidence of the fan base. I'll speak just for me on this, but to me promoting Johnson or Lazor is same car, new paint. I'm hopeful you are incorrect in your thoughts on who will get the OC job. Good information thought, thanks.
Wait, so we got shot of Slowik, but want to retain all the other cooks who ruined the meal? Make it make sense. We know what these people have to offer, well, unless they just never spoke with or offered *any input to Bobby during his entire tenure. Doesn't really add up.
We definitely shouldn’t promote the assistant offensive line coach. We need to go outside the building and get a solid o-line coach with a proven record. Our o-line play this year was terrible. Anyone who played a role in that fiasco should be reprimanded 😂
I keep Jerrod as qb coach and promote him to assistant passing game coordinator or something. He’ll get his shot as a coordinator no doubt but we need someone from outside the building. Best case scenario the OC we hire gets picked up as a head coach in a few years and we’re having this conversation again about Jerrod being the OC.
Jerod Johnson out of this group I think is a smart choice. He's very knowledgeable of the West Coast offense. You want your quarterback comfortable. The good news he's a fresh mind coming in the NFL teams are not going to know how he's going to call plays which can be an advantage if he calls aggressive.
Neither Johnson nor Lazor could help Slowik solve the issues, so why should either of them be in charge of the offense?
Along with Seth, Aaron quickly becoming one of two reliable sources for Texans news.
Thank you for the latest update!
Man, this is just straight up depressing news
Right , making J Johnson as OC with Popavich returning for O line.. Ugh! doesn't sound like a winning team.
@@jerrylukens9314 And Bill Lazor
Thanks for the news Aaron, keep us updated!
Feels like is probably going to be Nick Caley. Makes the most sense given his background
I think so, too. Majority of the coaches from the McVay tree have been successful.
Another Rookie OC just makes no sense
Exactly No sense at all never should’ve interviewed the man .. this team needs a veteran OC period!

Just keeping and promoting the internal staff seems crazy. If that’s the decision, I don’t see any improvement with the offense coming next season.

Why not switch to Jerrod mid season if he was the choice?
I've followed you for years and never heard you speak. Good morning and thanks for your reporting
Bro I don’t want anyone that’s already been on this staff. We should’ve cleared house on all those guys. Tf are we doing.
🎯BINGO

Idc what y’all think. CJ likes him for the job and that’s all that matters. 🤷🏽♂️

Hi Aaron, do you think there’s any chance Ben McDaniels could leave to maybe join the patriots and his brother
I don't anticipate that at all. Ben has preferred to work independently of his brother for majority of his coaching career.

Aaron you’re the best!
Why isn’t anyone mentioning Kevin Wilson. CJs OC at OSU???
He didn't call plays Ryan day did
@@christopherjackson1898 still, there's the CJ connection.

No on Jerrod Johnson! Need a fresh voice to stand up to CJ.

The only way the Texans are going to the Superbowl is buy a ticket and watch the team that beat them lol😅😅😂
