You're a silly goose if you don't know ho Mike Clay is or his level of NFL/player knowledge. He didn't say he was elite or top 15 at his position but Whitehead was good my man. Mike Clay is the most analytic guys out there so to hear him say all this shows its the numbers speaking! LETS GO JETS
@@ZTL0DI But Whitehead for Clark is a straight upgrade. But Mike Clay was basically "one hand, other hand"ing when he said the thing about Whitehead. I thought his main point was "safety is a question mark". And the Jets defense has had the philosophy "good front 7 + cornerbacks = safety doesn't matter that much".
Which seems to have worked out, although it makes Miami a bad matchup for the Jets, because their offense is built on the QB throwing immediately after a three stop drop -- he doesn't even hitch -- and lightning fast receivers. You kind of need a complete secondary to deal with that: you'd put the corners in press and have the safeties guard deep -- elite corners aren't enough. Sauce is great, but he's not Revis: he can't neutralize speed by having a nose for routes like Palumalu had for snap counts, and just run at cruising speed in front of the faster player, what I called the "double-wide on a two-lane highway" technique.
