That was enlightening to say the least. I am meditating on your teaching and will play it again. We just got slapped down in church with this account of Ananias and Sapphira, it always pertains to God's severe judgement for robbing Him of money. Be in fear if you don't give the Church enough money. Or if you hold back your money...( like maybe you have bills that need to be paid) instead of giving it to the Church. You read this account in Acts and it just leaves you hanging. So this video was the best interpretation of it that I've heard so far. Thank you
At the first sign of the rise of Agrippa, Simon Magus was deposed as Pope. His fall is recorded in the story of Ananias and Sapphira, who were both rebuked by Peter for financial wrongdoing, and immediately 'fell down and died' (were excommunicated), the usual fate of a fallen Pope & his associate. (Spiritual death, not physical).
Didn’t make sense to me the first time I read it but hearing your explanation of it make perfect sense to me now thank you for that detailed explanation 🙏🏾
I think this is reading too much into the passage. It’s not only Pharisees who are hypocritical and lie. I understand the desire to explain away what God has done but note that Peter is charging them sinning against the Holy Spirit . Acts is not a nominative situation but God is developing the new covenant. Remember they are all still a Jewish sect. Barnabas is called a Levite. Phil 1:6 He is not finished.
So far, in looking into this subject, this teaching makes the most sense. That is my opinion. I do wonder why the scriptures wouldn't point out that they were Pharisees or unbelievers though.
Remember: I hv many things to tell u, but no time, but when another comfertor comes he will lead u in all truth, the spirit of truth that descends from the father
I want to say this brother is correct , acts 4:32 shows the oneness of their discipleship and those two even thinking it wouldn’t be sus is appalling, they really might have been under cover converts
Regardless of whether or not they said a prayer, believed in their heart or not, they are still God's children and nothing could possibly separate them from the Love of God. Not even themselves. God did not kill Ananias and Sapphira.
Awesome teaching... makes me wonder how many other teaching in the new testament are taught wrong. Some preachers try to use God's word as a scare tactic.
This explanation is garbage… they weren’t in Christ so he killed them for their sin 🤣 God loves you if you’re in Christ but hates you if your not. Him and his wife got what they deserved… Nice! …dude tries to sound like he knows everything but instead comes off looking like a hateful man. Why not just admit, this story is difficult to explain, and we might not know everything going on here?
Brother I am respectfully submitting that 1st Corinthians 11:26-34 seems to disagree with what you are saying about the Lord's judgement on believers that are behaving in a carnal way. As for an example, in this case, it was concerning their abuses in regard to properly taking "Communion" together.
Could this be different though as it pertains to the whole church acting in sin? It feels like either of you could be correct but it also seems like the Church in Corinthia had been doing this for a while which is why it had to be addressed and those who died in this passage weren’t struck down but had died because of a sin that they were doing in the long term without repentance. It also feels a little different as they were not honoring Christ and as He is God they were dishonoring God himself not just the Church. But these are just my thoughts and you posted this 3 years ago but it is a difficult subject and one that only God can fully give the truth on.
I think you bring up a lot of good points but I really disagree with the fact that they are Pharisees. I don't see enough evidence for that conclusion to be drawn as concrete. I do believe that there were people trying to undermine the church but I don't think that this specific instance was Pharisees. When you talk about "No one else dared join them" it's talking about the desciples doing miracles in Solomon's Colonnade. It's moved past the instance of Ananias and Sapphira
Jesus healed all that were oppressed of the devil. All those that Jesus healed were unbelievers .. he never killed any of them. He went about doing good. Therefore I don’t believe God killed Annanias and Sapphira. Jesus is the express image of the invisible God.
I was confused when I read this part and I didn't feel good. That part really bothered me and I asked for an explanation. Thank you for the explanation
Very well said! That's the same way I came to the conclusion that they were unbelievers. Revelation of the gospel of Christ! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Also, Peter told Ananias that he didn't lie to them, he lied to the Holy Spirit! Faking like they were saved! Good stuff!
I think Ananias and Saphira were believers(even the devils believe! and, not everyone who says Lord, Lord), but they were acting on the treachery and covetousness that remained in their hearts that led them to obey THEIR master (satan) and to lie to the Holy Ghost. It's not just lying that was their sin. It's WHO they lied to. If you lie in a court of law this is far more serious than lying to a friend, neighbour, relative etc.
@@awakentruth1116 I didn't say I think they may have been born again believers I said believers. Big difference; 90% of Americans "believe". That is, believe in God and believe in the historical facts about Christ's atoning death & resurrection. Or let's say they believe they've believers but they have not received saving grace through faith.
I know what you mean, but I think it's important to differentiate. "Believer" and "born again believer" are different, yes. However, it's probably more helpful to not have to use such similar terms. Christians say "believer" as a short hand way to say that someone has been "regenerated by the Holy Sprit through faith in Christ". So it's probably good to be clear on what we mean. I don't think it had to do with WHO they lied to, since all sin is technically an offense against God. Jesus makes this clear in Matthew 25, when He says, "Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.'" The penalty was God's protection of His infant church, and not allowing it to be corrupted right at the start, and also giving validity to the apostles' message.
I think it makes sense that they were non-believers that infiltrated the church. it would be like partaking of the emblems during communion, all the while knowing that you are not a believer. that would be blasphemy against the holy spirit.
I saw a G. I've seen it all. Dope describes my rhymes, making all you emcees cold drop like dimes. You know MCSC is back again, and battling me on the microphone is like committing a sin. Scott/MCSC
I think you are guessing. Respectfully when we read about all the dividing in Matthew 25 and everyone who didn't know HIM. There was a lot of wrong decision going on...
This story causes me struggle, this feels much like Old Testament, it makes sense since the Lord changes not. If this couple didn’t give they would of lived, is how I understand it. My question is would they have lived if they was honest and said yes we kept a portion to ourselves? Is their souls in heaven or hell? The devil did guide them to lie, I get it, I believe the couple didn’t have faith, and wanted a fail safe, just in case giving to the church didn’t turn out. It causes fear and seeking questions and answers about Jesus Christ. This is a lesson not to grieve or offend the Holy Ghost. I am hurt because of this doctrine and my faith is hurting, but i still choose to believe in Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior, may the devil not use this doctrine to hurt men’s faith.
Let's keep in mind that God taking away a life is often to make a point. A serious one. But that does not necessarily mean that ananias and Saphira were sent to hell. If lying to God was sufficient for that, none of us would ever see heaven. Remember Uzza who dared touch the Ark? God took his life, but I doubt he was sent to hell for it
They lied about giving all their money instead of just being honest about giving some of it and keep the rest for themselves. They wanted the praise of men for giving all they had to God's church when they didn't. They broke one of the commandments thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
I heard Lynn Hiles say that the names Annaias and Sapphira means law and grace and that they represent that mixture of law and grace which brings death. A little bit of law/works and it is no longer grace. Also, the New Covenant began with Jesus, but the Old Covenant age didn't end until 70 a.d. so Old Covenant judgments were still falling on the jews who were under the law at that time.
If it is true that God is punishing the group of the Pharisees which Ananias and Sapphira are members based on mere Assumptions and not scripture and they are assumed unbelievers then why not God just punish the Leader of the group of the Pharisees which James by the way the son of Mary with Joseph
Where does it says that they are not believers. It is just your assumption that they are unbelievers. If they are unbelievers Peter should have said your heart is not right with God repent or you shall perish like he said to Simon the Sorcerer who himself believed and was baptized
Uh what? You have added and not used what was presented. No one wants to say that Peter screwed up royally. As far as I can tell Peter did something stupid before the Lord. He created a socialist commune. The next step was to hold children in common. He kept stepping in it. That's why Paul was needed and our Lord chose him. Paul, who caused the death of many Christians, became a champion of it. Paul was known to confront Peter....So, sorry this stuff you are saying sounds way off. Do you all recall when the town refused the apostles and they wanted to call fire down on it? Our Lord rebuked them. Peter just screwed up. He's been sticking it in his mouth since the beginning.
I can't finish watching this video when you just made up like 90% of how you view this scripture. There is no indication that they were not beleivers and there was no indication that they were pharisee
They knock at the door and say Lord we have prophesied and cast out demons in your name, obviously Christians, the Lord Jesus answers and says depart from me he worker of iniquity meaning worker of sin, I don't know you. There is also at least one verse concerning the blotting out of your name out of The Book of Life, which your name would have to be in the Book of Life to be blotted out, meaning you would have to be a believer in Christ to have your name blotted out. I agree you can't earn your way to heaven but you also can't be living in sin. I am struggling with this myself. I believe we can mess up maybe time from time but we can't be at worker of sin. I believe these examples I gave her very correct. These are not word for word quotes but they pretty much are. Just as I can't believe Jesus will save me and kill a million babies and then die and go to heaven. Jesus also gave The Sermon on the Mount, he tells who will enter Heaven and who will not. Such as those do not forgive others of what they do to them will not be forgiven of their sins. I strongly urge people to read The Sermon on the Mount King James Version Bible by the way I like your black clothes and your shirt with all the pyramid shapes on them. Maybe just a coincidence but that is the same symbology has the Freemasons in the luciferians wear. I would love to hear what you have to say about what I said and the above. Also when Jesus healed people, he told them to sin no more. I am just asking these questions not attacking because there is something in the Bible about the blind leading the blind. Also but I said that the first of my message AR in fact in the Bible, about the blotting out of names, about knocking at the door and Jesus answers depart from me you worker of iniquity I don't know you. This to me is very obviously Christians that did something wrong. There is no other way to describe it. If you have any other way to describe this, please let me know.
Actually there were many jews in the time of Jesus and the apostles who were not Christians that cast out demons. There's even an example in Acts chapter 19.
1Co 11:27-32 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. (28) But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. (29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. (30) For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (31) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (32) But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. Gal 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
This really makes sense to me now. Thank you for explaining this story to us. Blessings to you.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom on this. I needed this clarity

Wow am blessed. This is one of the most clear and awesome explanations that I have ever heard in regards to this topic. God bless you so much.
Thank you for this explanation of this passage! It was very helpful to my Bible reading this afternoon :)
Great preaching, thank you. Amen

My problem is aren’t we supposed to be under Mercy? Why are these early Christians being murdered for a sin I thought we were under grace
Great explanation. thanks for sharing
Thank you brother Ryan
So blessed
I want to say this brother is correct , acts 4:32 shows the oneness of their discipleship and those two even thinking it wouldn’t be sus is appalling, they really might have been under cover converts
Recently was comparing Achan's Sin to Ananias and Sapphira. Loved your commentary on the Pharisees invaders!
Great Commentary!
Correctly and very well explained brother,God bless u
Wow! Let scripture interpret scripture. I love it.
We arent given answers. Just trust in the lord. Also, beware of speculation.

I think Ananias died as he was shocked that Peter knew. Sapphira died because Peter spoke that she would . He used his authority . And it happened.
right they were pharisee's, false believers, legalistic
