I'm 57 years old and had a prior heart ❤️ attack. I have an enlarged heart. Used to weigh 192 lbs now after exercise and fasting down to 155 lbs. Heart rate is 46 bpm to 200 bpm. Blood pressure went from 180/110 to 120/80.
As a 76 yr old runner and cyclist I am planning to continue on a fairly structured training and racing programme. This video is a good mixture of research results and is helping me with my plan. However it seems that a huge area of research is missing, specific to hard exercise for 65yr plus humans. If we look for NHS UK guidance then it's not there other than 'don't do it'
I was diagnosed with Athletes Heart last year by an MD, however I am not and have never been an athlete, I work out a little bit but nothing intense at all. It doesn't make sense to me
might be a genetic disorder that was causing your heart to work harder than normal, or it was larger to begin with as your body grew. i wonder if it could also be related to sleep disruptions, as they can trigger adrenaline and cortisol and increase resting heart rate.

I’ve been a competitive runner for 20 years and think I have this so I found this talk fascinating! Thanks!

Watching this in 2021, there are so many inaccuracies. Of course by that time this was the best available evidence...
Would be great if you had pointed out the inaccuracies or linked to a better UA-cam video, huh ?
Oh well...
I can run 3 miles in 27:34
