This is some of the best lip-syncing i've seen in a game, there character's mouths are actually forming the correct shapes. Very impressive ! There are moments when the timing seems to be a fraction off, but the overall quality is excellent.
@@andypanzMetahumans don’t do the animation for you. Even Unreal’s facial mocap app doesn’t get you perfect results. There’s still lots of manual cleaning up work to do if you want to get the animation from ‘passable’ to ‘high quality, professional and convincing’. It’s not just about fixing artefacts and inaccuracies either. Often the mocap actor’s facial performance just doesn’t quite translate well to the CG face, so it’s up to the animation team to manipulate the keys until it registers as expressive and natural to human eyes. Those kinds of artistic decisions can’t be automated by new tech because they’re intuitive and subjective. Computers don’t perceive the uncanny valley. So yeah, further updates to Metahumans alone aren’t going to make every video game NPC have convincing performances. If the game’s team is just going through the motions with the animation process, the results are always going to feel slightly janky and inhuman.
My goodness this looks GOOD. Finally a good steampunk setting, the gameplay looks unique and engaging, the quality of the cut scenes is phenomenal and the storyline looks promising as well. Creativity deserves a comeback like this!
Hm... So... I'm Norwegian, but I expect this to be a thing in the rest of Scandinavia as well. Erik (or more spesifically "Old Erik") is one of the names for the Devil. So when there is some mystery in some town of destiny named Erik... I am thinking the Devil is involved somehow.
This game sits proudly along Mafia 4, Doom the Dark Ages, Little Nightnatere 3 and The Last Of Us 2 on my favorite wishlist for 2025.Can't wait to play it!
Wow, what's the budget on this? Looks at least AA with full performance capture cutscenes, animations, and backgrounds. Wouldn't expect this visual fidelity on an isometric stealth game.
@@notsoon6721 What are you talking about? This is isometric. Just like BG3 is isometric. Or PoE, or DoS, etc. "Isometric video game graphics, a style in video games, with the playfield viewed at an angle instead of flat from the side or top; perspective is used to give a 3D effect; also known as "3/4 perspective", "2.5D", and "pseudo-3D"." So yes, it is isometric indeed.
@@Oozaru85 brother, I make games, when we make isometry we don't use perspective, isometry is by definition the lack of real perspective. Hades is isometric, this is not

As a Swede this was pretty cool to watch. So much Swedish 1800s era and the names(!) I saw my mother's maiden name fly past as one of the companies. Always fun when you stumble upon something like this. Will keep my peepers out for it!
For me to comment my thought, I need to drop some lore. In Scandinavia, there is a tradition to have Christmas calendars. It's a paper thing you buy with perforated slot that are numbered. The first day of December you open the first one and so on. We also have an accompanying tv show each morning that correlates to the physical calender. Still with me? I'll get there. For millenials, the 1996 calendar was peak christmas. the N64 was released among other things. BUT! It has one of the most cherished advent calendar shows ever. "The Mystery of Greveholm". So when I saw this game's name I, for a brief second, experienced what the critic in Ratatouille did. I was thrown back into a simpler time, sitting at my friend's house playing Super Mario 64, Wave Racer, and Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. While this game ain't it, I'm buying it at release. Not because of the misplaced nostalgia, but because it looks like a really good game.
Looks great! I hope the stealth feels fun like in games such as Desperados 3, and isn't a "oh you got spotted, now redo the whole five minute section" kinda stealth.
uuff... yeah this could be great. the animations and cutscnes... damn! a game of which you can already tell, that there was a lot of care and effort involved!
This looks like a great experience. Face tech is stupendous. Please make the target audience of this game mature people too. Keep the dexterity level low and the dialogue respectful. Probably buy it multiple times
While I see a lot of Desperados influence, it's apparently your first big project? Definite wishlist, hopefully I'll have money and time to actually try it(if it's available here).
The Cutscene quality is simply mind blowing
Yes!
Looks like metahuman models to me, especially the expressions. Very beautiful!
Graphics seem wasted on a top down game though.
@@SpaceMango It's handmade models with motioncapping animations.
@@wkadalie It could have been like A Plague Tale, which is beautiful
This definitely needs more attention

Is it steampunk? Just looks like England in the late 19th century
Lmao sees smoke from coal burning....woah steampunk!

Problem is this looks like it will have a AAA pice tag.

@cjeff99 would be deserved just hope OP expects a full price game.
Giving a bit of a Dishonored aesthetic-feel... there's potential in this!
I agree. It has a Dishonored feel to it.
There's a name for that style of aesthetics it's Victorian style. Style by wich Dishonored was inspired as well. 🤓
and play like shadow tactics
Usually I don't like stealth games. But this looks great. Looking forward to playing this. The artwork, the atmosphere. It's just beautiful.
Not a fan of isometric game BUT This is amazing. Definetly gonna try this.
For me, Shadow Tactics games were just like this and the only isometric games I’ve played.
This is not isometric. An isometric perspective requires an orthographic projection.

Incredible atmosphere and design! The mix of suspense and intrigue feels like stepping into a gripping thriller. The way tension builds is masterful!
I would love to play this with Swedish dubs.
We are so far into graphics for a second I didnt know if this was movie trailer or game
This g-man appearance in the end was unexpected.
Half-Life 3 confirmed
