This should be a series, different "things" turned into computers! this was alot of fun to watch, more please!
I second the One Day Mod series idea.
push
For sure once a month crazy one day builds
Yeah I think they need to do a build series with Paul, Linus, Steve and Kyle and see who can do the best over all one day build as a mobile gaming PC. That case one tho is a top notch build for only 8 hours work on the fly.
Bump
My friends computer crashes all the time so we make fun of him for having a toaster PC. Please make a toaster into a powerful PC.
Also it would be cool to see a motorcycle helmet made into a PC.

Adam Savage's one day builds are one of my favorite things on UA-cam, I'm looking forward to seeing Jay build a computer in less than a year.
Should of used ketchup and mustard cables to give that "suitcase bomb" look
All ketchup and mustard, with ONE other colored wire/cable like green or blue. You need to know which one to cut.
@@williammiller3277 Obciosly cut green, that'd shut it down. The violet cable would be neccesary to fully shut it off, but that one doesn't carry much power.
There's a guy who did a fancy "movie style nuke" case that looks so realistic that he has permanent documentation to go along with it for the TSA to permit it on planes when he takes it to shows.

Missed opportunity to build an overpowered AMD system in that *_Intel Inside_* case.
This man is a genius!
Jay should really shake things up and build a Talos II system with dual 22-core POWER9 CPUs. That would be a challenge for his tech skills as well as his seemingly bottomless bank account.
CarthagoMike i had a sticker on an amd build few years ago "intel inside, idiot outside"
i was so hyped and was soooo wanting it to be an AMD build but then he crashed my dreams and said he was going to put an intel in it B^(
Jay's version of standing in front of an open fridge wondering what to eat: standing in front of The Shelf and saying "I want to build something but not sure what"

This has just given hope to me! I have been wanting to do a build for several years now. I do not have a pc currently. I have been looking at building a budget PC, but on Veteran's Benefits, it just isn't happening yet. But now I see how I can use non-traditional stuff for parts of a build! I never would have thought to use something like a plastic case! I drool over your high-end builds, like Nebula... but for now I will at least be able to see what I can reporpose from around the house!!! Thank you for the awesome ideas!!! Keep up the amazing work guys!
Jay accidentally makes the perfect LAN gaming computer and doesn't even mention it in his video 😂

When you set the pc down and you hear "bomb planted" even though your not playing csgo
The one time you would want a ketchup and mustard PSU set of cables.
Naw, custome sleeved cables. You'd have red, black, blue, green, yellow, and white. Just not all together, so you'd really be pushing a cable modding team to pull off some janky shit. =)
Are you saying that because it would look like it's rigged to blow? Lol
Edit: never mind -_- I just got to the part where he makes it clear that's what it's supposed to look like.
@@Jarrik73 Definitely go with custom sleeved but make them all yellow ua-cam.com/video/d2IhDCesxxA/v-deo.html
Need one color that is only on one wire/cable so you know which to cut.
I remember a guy on Twitter suggesting a Pelican case PC build to both of us a few weeks ago 👍 Glad to see you made it happens, it's a fantastic form factor and honestly the perfect LAN party weapon. I still want to build a smaller PC in one of those old school metal Ammo Cans but I bet it would be really difficult to keep cool while keeping it looking like an Ammo can 🤔
I'm open to suggestions? I'm also wondering if I could just 3D print an insert for that can that holds all the components together so it could be easily pulled out all as one part and the can would literally just be a container that nothing is physically connected to.
Can we have video on a rugged pc ? There are no projects on a rugged pc that can withstand drops, shock etc. Now-a-days we can have almost none moving parts in a pc ( there are fanless coolers available, ssd etc ). it would be interesting to see your + jays take in this.
LAN party
Yes you can mount it to a Frame and you don't have to 3d print it I'm working on a rugged pc build if your interested I should have the picks on reddit under r/DIY and mabe some others within the month
Back in 2008-2010, while building so of my first few build and being on quite a budget, me and some friends built multiple pcs using 1/2 inch plywood and and couple carpenter tools to create pc cases. Several reason this works so well.. the case size and layout is fit custom for the parts selected for the build so size is minimized and uts truly one if a kind especially with the custom paint jobs we did. Such great memories.
This is probably one of the sickest things I've ever seen. Make me want to start case modding
Wat u say? U forgot weeb profile pic = no opinion?? Xd

HAHAAHHAAH Accidental Linus strikes again!
Nicely done Jay. I love it. I made one out of an aluminum case which housed my tools once. Back in the days with an AMD K6. Made a 400 run at 450. In my first mod ever I used real glas, no plexiglas, no tempered glas, It was a Cybox case, with a Pentium 2. Yellow frame, metallic green outside, and a few holes on top. I modded the cd-burner so you could see inside. Burner blue and PSU red. Loooong time ago, hahaha. Very fun to do. Love these kind of videos. Modding has come a long way and it rules! I cooled a PC with a radiator of a VW Golf II once, with an Eheim aquarium pump.
This looks like the sort of thing that would come with the ultra special edition of a COD game or something. Make sure Activision sees this vid, Jay ;)

“You just mounted it into a box” … that’s 90% off building a computer. LOL.
Anyway, nice build! What a creative way to use an old Pelican! You should show the final product, once you get the refinements done.
Loved this build!! BUT to be the perfect LAN party PC instead of this beautiful pelican case it should be one of those 8L beer keg with actual tap beer maybe with also a Peltier tabs to keep it cooled ... that would be something!
Perfect job Jay, and I love your spirit and chemistry with Phil! Keep it coming!
This was sick. I'd love to see more "computer built into household objects." I wish I had a more specific suggestion, but I hope you'll get some good ideas. :)

A chair, thus making it inbuilt with a seat heater 😏
Back in 2011, I built a gaming rig in a Pelican Case, as I was flying all over the world.. It held up pretty well actually. Wasn't the prettiest (Jay's is MUCH nicer), but did the job! imgur.com/a/vUquS0G

That's actually badass for the time! Cool build man!
So what you're saying is Jay copied you! ;) sweet job man
All AMD. Nice!
I'd be terrified to fly with something like that
Is it strange that i actually wished there was a Commercial PC case like this that i can buy?
I think you're looking for this: www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-11-156-324 I remember seeing one on Amazon last year. Very hard to find. I think it's a design shared with other manufacturers too, like Azza.

Absolutely love that spur of the moment suitcase build. Probably my favorite build of 2020 you've done so far!
I've been wanting to do that exact build for a couple years now! You Rock!
Jay: I'ma gonna build in this tiny case
Case manufacturers: Wait, that's illegal
I want to make a portable computer out of one of those cases now, with a screen and keyboard built in, and keep it all waterproof.
Just add a battery and you have reinvented the laptop :P
@@RedSunFX With a far better cooling solution 😊🤔
you can't make it waterproof bc it needs cooling
@@toott5u If you seal the hoses of the radiator and have a second AIO for the GPU, you could easily water proof this.
Well, not easily, but it's entirely doable.
@@buca117 I mean, there are more things to think about if you want to make a Computercase fully waterproof. VRM's, Storage, Ram and other components still do produce heat and would overheat in a fully sealed housing. I think the best approach would be to watercool everything you can and make a sealed airloop with a radiator. Oh and there is also the problem that if you run the tubes out to a rad outside, then the fans on the rad still won't be waterproof. I don't really think its doable.
That's probably the best lan party pc I've seen in a looong time.
Wow Jay that is an AMAZING build. A perfect build that you can take to your friends house and totally show off!!! I love it. All you need is your power cable, HDMI cable, mouse and keyboard and you are set to RIP UP a session. I wonder if some sort of collaborating mod would work. Both would start mod'ing something, then send it to the other for the other to mod another piece, and keep doing it until they both felt they were done with the mod's. Of course have a debriefing afterwards for the viewers. Neither should they share the vids of doing the mods until the mods were done, to prevent spoiling potential ideas to the other. Perhaps they would have to decide on hardware beforehand or add hardware as they go, or add hardware first and then mod.
