- A beautiful story on Babaji narrated by Marshal Govinda Satchitananda
Babaji is about 2500 years old and lives in the Himalayas. There are no pictures of him, but all great masters attribute him as a man who looks like he is in his early 20"s. There is only an artists impression of him approved by the great masters who have met him over the centuries.
He was born in Portonuovo in Cuddalore district near Pondicherry ( Now called Parangipettai) , He was kidnapped by arab traders at the age of 5 and sold in Calcutta. The man who purchased him freed him , His first Guru was Boghanathar one of the 18 siddhars in Hinduism, and then he learnt from the famous saint Agastiar muni at Kutralam in Tamil Nadu.
His birth date is vague but most sources attribute it to around 2000 years to 2500 years ago. Babaji is beyond death and has conquered it along with his sister , who is called Mataji or simply divine mother
One source states it as Babaji was born in 562 B.C in Parangi Pettai, Porto Nova, now a small village near Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, India. Babaji was christened, Nagaraj by his parents, which connotes the meaning the king of serpents. Babaji`s father was a priest at a Shiva temple. Babaji`s birthday falls on the day when the Pushya Star is in operation on the month of Karthika. And this video states 203 AD on deepawali
His students have been ......Adi shankaracharya in the 9th century........Kabir Das in the 16th century.......Lahiri Mahasaya 19th century.........Yogananda Paramahansa . And many other spiritual masters for the last 2500 years or so
They don't always hide away in mountains. Some have a job to do which is very public and they work endlessly, and some have a mission that is more reclusive. If Babaji presented himself to the word people would probably a) think he's a fraud b) try to bring him down c) try to get him doing miracles or granting wishes. He doesn't have the ego to need to come into the world, he's beyond it. I don't blame him for staying out of the way!

I think I did find an actual Picture of Babaji, the Man Himself. In Yogananda's book Autobiography of a Yogi, there is a photograph taken of Sri Yukteshwar and Yogananda in front of Sri Yukteshwar's Ashram. Inside the ashram, in the back ground, is a tall, slim figure of a man, partially hidden in the darkness of the room. I believe this is an actual photograph of Kriya Babaji. Probably the only time he allowed Himself to be photographed. You cannot make out his face....but find this picture and see what you see. Om Kirya Babaji Namah Om.
That's very intriguing. I just checked it. The man's face is not visible but his stance is commanding yet serene. You may be tight here.

@@theviralbombs Yes. That is the impression I got from it. Yogananda is looking a little nervous, like he is looking over his shoulder. If it is Babaji, he may have felt it was ok to remain visible since he was back behind the other yogis in front and his face is darkened.

Depends what science and what spirituality. What's more important, Morals or bombs? What's more important logic or knowledge from within? My guess is morals and logic. One could argue logic is spiritual though.
I can say with certainty that the techniques that Mareshall passes on have nothing to do with Maheshwarnath Babaji's lineage... The only one that mixes hatha yoga techniques with tantra yoga, pranayamas with varied visualizations of Trataka Dhyana on top of Babaji's image , it really has nothing to do with every other lineage of Kriya yoga...
How does Christ relate to Babaji?
Richard C. Christ was also disciple of Babaji. But not the Christ which is portrayed in Bible.

THe funny thing is: all these "yogies" look old, they die usually either young or middle aged, at least those that can be verified. I still have to meet one who dies with 92, as my mother did who never knew yoga.

I have known many yogis in person who lived for more than 92 years. A very famous Yogi in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (India) who used to teach Yoga at Lake side and passed recently lived 90+

Yogananga talks about Agastyar in his autobiografy. He says "... some tamil literature referes about Agastyar .... he performed many miracles BC and AC and some belive he is still retains his phisical form."

The book "How I became the disciple of Babaji", by Marshall Govindan is a hilarious read. The funniest part was him describing how he lost his fiance to Yogi Ramaiah, who promised her a "special" initiation. Don't know about the initiation part, but she did shoot out Yogi Ramaiah's child within the year! 😂

Silent yoga/meditation is spreading around the world. Not only the yoga practitioners, but also most of the psychics, channelers and remote viewers, even increasingly younger children in the west, seem to believe into reincarnation, regardless their religion, is it not interesting?

+whitehorseusa There are true masters in today's world, always have been and always will be. Not only in Kriya Yoga tradition. In fact to true masters traditions are just labels. Like clothes that just stress the same core matter in different outlooks, the mechanics to liberation are always the same. This doesn't really answer your question, but if you want to extuinguish your search, google for "Direct pointing".

If you had experience of him, you would not ask. Any omniscient Guru has influence all over the world, without moving off the floor. What is the big deal about the body going anywhere, if the consciousness and energy can go everywhere? Pray to him from deep in your heart for guidance and in a state of complete surrender, and see what happens......i did so, and my life has not been the same for 4 and a half months. You can use the old picture f him on Google, for focus and connection.

@@abhishekghosh7518 : That comment being from 7 years ago, i can't say i remember what the speecific effects were, but i could have been speaking about increased activity in Spontaneous Kriya Yoga maybe, where a physical teacher is not needed. ....at least not in my case. What i think may have been happening was Yoga Nidra preparations, sleeping in VERY odd and twisted postures on the floor, Kechari Mudra, abdomenal breaths, ankles crossed behind the head for the first time, at 58 years old........but not many complex things, just a few simple ones. I also became 3/4's of an inch taller then :)) I have cleared a space outdoors to begin a practice again, in the fresh air and sunlight, and with my Tree / Bird / Insect / Spirit friends with me! Peace

Enlightenment is a temporary experience that what you call masters strive for .
Daz Surff yes it was in the physical body then they would die to go on to the realm of oneness.but now since the human collective consciousness is rising to that level of enlightenment and earth spirit is in this realm of oness we have to raise the vibration so it can be actualized into this plane.our physical bodys our evolving rapidely after the harmonic convergence and 2012 because it is in the collective consciousness to ascend.if you agree with or not i love you anyway and only want the best for your journey peace dude.

Why do 'spiritual masters' or 'immortals' hide away in mountains? They are on earth for a reason. Like us, the world is reflecting ourselves to us, but at least we don't wash our hands of it. We live in it and try to improve it. Well, the horrors of the world are not just our self-reflection but theirs to. Just like the rich men who use their wealth to shield themselves from the world, so to do the 'spiritual masters' use their higher vibrations to avoid the self reflections they don't like.
There are many unsung heroes who never reveal their greatness. Doesn't mean they don't care or aren't doing anything.
Why does the description state there are no pictures of Babaji? There are many and there are videos of him in living color!

All these people trying to be God. Then they repeat some statements by Lord Krishna as if it's their own, as if they are the Absolute Truth. No human being can be God. We can only be part of Him.
Atma means soul. Individual spirit soul. According to Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, the atma is an eternal part and parcel of God, of Krishna. The atma is not Krishna.
Krishna says that the Atma, the individual soul, has fallen into this material world and has accepted a material body which is subject to birth old age, disease and death.
