The best double layout ever, like on any apparatus. That's as good as it gets. She could have thrown a full twist in and I bet it would have looked spectacular because her twisting form was impeccable.
joseph johnson haha as it’s supposed to be. Fhe back isn’t supposed to bend in the double layout & it makes me cringe when every gymnasts arch during the dismount. You’re supposed to be straight as a board.
She was such a beautiful gymnast, so clean and consistent. Her treatment at the Olympics was a travesty. They should have used her instead of Carly on bars in team finals.
I loved her gymnastics, and wished she had done better in Athens. But, I do have to say that even thought she had excellent form in terms of pointing her toes and keeping her legs together, the other mechanics seem lacking. She didn't really get good height on her release moves. I know handstand positions weren't as closely scrutinized as they are currently, but some of her pirouettes seem pretty late too. Still tho, it sounds like being critical/nit picky but I really did admire her gymnastics!
@hockeygirl789 She didn't have enough height on the markelov. She also wasn't parallel to the bar. Her tkatchev lacked height as well. Her cast 1/2 was off.
That was the best doubl layout I have ever seen in my life!!! Everyone else has a slight bend. McCool is like throwing a baton in the air.
Agree

Her and Norah Flatly have the best ones.
that double layout dismount I love. no arched back..straight as a board.

and now Kara and Leanne (also GAGE) also have beautiful straight DLOs off UB.
@@wiscovirgo they look better arch’s straight ones look like simple
Impeccable form. Even in slow motion, you can hardly identify any technical or execution errors. Fabulous work
THIS IS THE PERFECT DOUBLE LAYOUT DISMOUNT I'VE EVER SEEN!
I feel like Courtney was always woefully underscored on this event. Her form and execution were flawless.
Short handstands the judges are harsh on that!
Yes and poor height on her releases too. But yeah she was fabulous but I guess others were a little bit better.
It wasn’t nearly as much of a thing in 2004
Except for all the missed handstands. Seems like Tim and Elfi were just blind to those
It's because the construction of her routine is really dumb. Only started from a 9.8 while including unnecessary turns that can get deducted.
STILL THE BEST DOUBLE LAY OFF UB EVER!!!
I love how her dismount wasn't one of those super arched double layouts.. It wass PERFECT!
She was my gymnastics coach last week!! 😊
Her style reminds me of Lilia Podkopaeva. Elegant!
That dismount on night 1 was nerves. A prelude to what happened in Athens. Sad.
An absolutely perfect dismount. I'd really like to know where the judges found .475 in deductions.
That dismount is perfection. It was like twirling a pencil.

BEAUTIFUL DISMOUNT!!!!!!!!!
perfect! absolutley perfect, i love it!
they have to give her a 10 just because shes so pretty! :)
she is like the first gymnast i have seen that doesnt arch her back while doing a double layout
It is such a shame she was not used in any of the team final
Perfect position on the dismout!

I don’t know well about Koko Tsurumi. But her double dismount is really beautiful✨✨✨
@hockeygirl789

why is Al Fong always wearing gloves?
MusicDory17 he still does!! Lol
For safety reasons, by wearing gloves he doesn't scratch the gymnasts when they fall
good question
talk about an improvement from day 1 (dismount)! very clean
@QueenieQue Several casts short of handstand, lack of amplitude on the releases, and pirouettes finishing slightly out of handstand.
@QueenieQue her start value was 9.8, so 0.275, not .475
I don't like Al Fong, but his gymnasts ALWAYS seem to have perfect form... Her DLO very reminiscent of Bogi's in '96.
bernardmvella here i am commenting 6 years later and al has some of the amazing All a rounders on the circuit
i dont think that she wanted to let go early i think her grip slipped
0:39 when al yells “NOOOOOOOO!”
I think so.
perfect form and dismount, and only a 9.525?
@QueenieQue Where did they find it???
😍😍😍😍
Her gymnastics is actually very unAmerican in terms of the perfect form etc.
Fong's glove just creep me out. It's WEIRD. :/
@natalienat518 I prefer Yang Yilin's.
I took a better look and its not her.
Love her bars, but her handstands were really low..
beautiful but LOLZ and 0:29 she sorta looks like voldemort lol
1:15 is that Anna Li in the background?
marushk161 yes
