Randy is the best. He really captures the feel, more than any of the performers who cover Jimi. I saw him randy live in the late 70s and was blown away. I saw Jimi live in the 60s so I have an accurate frame of reference.
Randy would give me a ride to work in seattle & we smoked on the way ! My Band = THIN PILLOW opened for him a couple of times & i got to meet Jimi's dad and sister ! Am blessed ! and THANKFULL !
Yeah I met Randy at Sick's Stadium at the Hendrix and Cactus concert Summer of 1970 both of us were very young 13 years old and we talk about Fender Stratocaster guitars and shared the same first name and were up front and center for Jimi's performance. Then several years later I saw Randy perform at the Aquarius on aurora ave and was completely blown away Wow because he really did follow his dream on becoming a professional guitar player.
Randy's arrangement of Red House here is priceless he really channels how Jimi used those Elmore James style pre string bends absolutely perfectly! Jimi would be so very proud!
Going to Randy's house this Saturday afternoon (today) with my friend Lori - in Auburn. His place is like a living Jimi Hendrix/ Rock & Roll shrine of history.
To be able to sing like Jimi, play rhythm like Jimi and leads to boot on this version of red house with a little tiny amp and no microphone is just totally awesome
agree but I have Hendrix Family / UA-cam striking my account for My film of Little Wing by Randy and they UA-cam gave me a Strike on My account.. Thanks for comment
That's ridiculous, what are they worried about. The quality was great&better than over half of the stuff you see on youtube .RANDY JUST JUSTICE TO JIMI AND PLAYS HIM W/RESPECT!!
Terri - Actually Randy was already on the scene in the 70's and was recognized at the time by "Band Of Gypsys" and "JH Exp" alumni as the best living guitarist in the Hendrix style even back then. Admittedly Randy's not nearly as famous as SRV, but IMHO every bit as talented and has been rockin' just as long.
Dude. . . should have gotten his hands cause I'm learning guitar (heh) . . . But I'm always blown away by this guy. Gotta be a 'separated at birth' kinda thing with Jimi and Randy. Thanks for this.
Cute little thing with her back to the wall has a look on her face saying " Why am I here ? This is making me sleepy, it's why I have a blank look on my face, and why I can barely keep my eyes open ". lol. Poor kid. Excellent playing on the part of Randy though, as always.
Hahaha, I was kinda thinking the same thing. Then, all of a sudden, he went into a solo, and her head snapped around, like she heard a loud noise, and she started to pay attention for a little while. Wish they had have panned around the area so we could have seen the reactions of the other people. Looked like he was playing in someone's back yard. I was fortunate enough to see both Jimi and Randy, both great, like brothers from a different mother.
It was a good performance given the awkward setting. I know randy would have preferred to play the song in a band setting, standing on a stage, but, he did really good nonetheless
I'd like to think that she was in awe of the greatness that was before her eyes and ears. And hopefully it gave her a spark in a musical direction. That will lead her to a happy future, sharing her soul through the power of sound.
Believe it or not Randy is just using natural amp overdrive! During live shows Randy uses vintage 60s "Univibe /Wha Wha pedals. Randys amplifiers are vintage 60s tube Marshall plexi's or Tone Hunter amps with master gain . I do agree with you about those reissue Hendrix effects systems.. they're mostly a big waste of money. Although there are some very good Hendrix style effects like "Fulltone" univibe/ chorus/ with 60s style photo cells and the Fulltone Clyde McCoy wha wha pedal. Also another great pedal is the Hendrix Digitech artist series pedal designed by Hendrix's sound engineer Eddie Kramer.
Don't forget about Uli Jon Roth, another GREAT guitarist who absolutely nails Jimi's sounds and technique! Plus a mega shredder to boot, like Michael Schenker!
One thing I'm sure Randy is aware of is that LSD was the major component in the development of Jimi Hendrix as a musician and his music. Had it not been for that he would have remained a Blues/ R&B guitarist and probably never sang much at all, as he didn't like to sing.
Randy is all "that" and some with the recognition he gets off HENDRIX. HANSEN should be highlighted on his Creation from spirits.Hendrix was BLACK LEGEND who if he was alive in the Amerikkka today he would be in fear to drive a car at sundown. He would have made a slamming sound and song on his fellow people getting gun down by the PO-PO=LICE . He spit, splattered Machine Gunn,Bob Marley farted I Shot The Sheriff,if Randy was a true legend where his powerful symbolic song and sound? The Mon getting his nut off Hendrix. I'm just saying don't be mad at me. I'm Black and I am Proud. Hendrizzzz is a Homie, Believe that. He started from the deepest zone of society,he went thru the struggles, rejections that all people darker than Blue experience. He didn't get great doing the cover dance.Use your own Greatness for a Greater World.
Dressing ,acting, talking like the long gone Hendrix. That's how you get off? I mean Bigg as this universe is,with all the unexplored ,untouched beauty and mysterious ways of life, you wanna copy someone's else stamp on life. And on top of that get paid for imitation. Pull your own 🦋 (butterfly) out your hill Billy magic tent. Miles,Sly, Prince,Clinton,R.Johnson,M.Jackson, Flavor Flav,Snoop,Dogg,Buddy Miles,T-Bone,Howling Wolfe, HENDRIX and Me. Leave the Legends alone. Respect God,s creation.

brez9091 Was Randy as good as Jimi on stage?
Randy would give me a ride to work in seattle & we smoked on the way ! My Band = THIN PILLOW opened for him a couple of times & i got to meet Jimi's dad and sister ! Am blessed ! and THANKFULL !

I spoke with him before a concert he is a super humble kind human bean and it shocked me that he talk like a friend...
Bean lol
Randy's arrangement of Red House here is priceless he really channels how Jimi used those Elmore James style pre string bends absolutely perfectly! Jimi would be so very proud!
Randy is a great player and seems like a really humble guy. Awesome. True talent...why it's so over looked I'll never understand.
He should do Randy and channel Randy but copy kats are copy " Cats "...
Randy Hansen is epic!!! He is a fantastic guitarist. Plus look at the tone he is getting out of that little Crate amp!!
I filmed this. No microphone.. Randy played it with.❤
Going to Randy's house this Saturday afternoon (today) with my friend Lori - in Auburn. His place is like a living Jimi Hendrix/ Rock & Roll shrine of history.
he is playing through a tiny crate amp.. incredible!!
That is a great fucking tone. My goodness.

Brilliant. Almost scarring his Hendrix 's study and Quality. Jimi would be there smiling in a corner
Luv Randy Hansen he's been doing his Jimi tribute for about 30plus yrs. He does w/respect!

Those people sit at that table like they're doing community service for having to listen to that! ROFLOL

I'm sad that I just found out about Randy this year, boy did I miss out.
This guy is so fn good!
F##K YEAH.....awesome solo performance!
he is really amazing !
It would've been better if the camera was focused on the fretboard ..
I can't tell guy next to me to move but if see I got some Randy is my friend.. I was squatting with people all around and behind me.
Not a walk in the park to do Hendrix and make it all your own. The only one that preceded Randy with this gift is SRV. Randy, you’re awe….. and some!
you are Hendrix ! I'm seeing Hendrix play
Viagem ao tunel do tempo , o cara é uma máquina !
Sublime
Dude. . . should have gotten his hands cause I'm learning guitar (heh) . . . But I'm always blown away by this guy. Gotta be a 'separated at birth' kinda thing with Jimi and Randy. Thanks for this.
Jimi already said in the 60,s I got my own world to live thru and I ain't gonna copy you. His message is what part you don't understand? Baby Chile...
I hope the people that are watching enjoyed it🤩
love it
This great

Randy is da man
One could imagine what that Indian girl is thinking.
I'd like to think that she was in awe of the greatness that was before her eyes and ears. And hopefully it gave her a spark in a musical direction. That will lead her to a happy future, sharing her soul through the power of sound.

99 and 1 half days is a long-ass time no doubt.
The girl in the back ground looks like she got caught in a time warp. lol
WISH I KNEW WHAT PEDALSAND SET UP HE HAD, MOST VIDS ON HENDRIX AFFECTS SOUND LIKE CRAPOLA,NOT RANDY

It's criminal that Randy has to eke out a living doing shit like this...
bokangleach he's doing what he loves and what he's best at while getting paid to do it! Many many people aren't so lucky. This cat is blessed!
To me, it just looked like he was hanging out with some friends in someone's back yard.
randy the best
Randy is Jimi
so true
Wow, how much to play my birthday? Lol.... I wish.....
Don't forget about Uli Jon Roth, another GREAT guitarist who absolutely nails Jimi's sounds and technique! Plus a mega shredder to boot, like Michael Schenker!
strange setting...
I film it well for squatting 😂

Damn that dude don’t play
I prefer Jimi Hendrix !
Each artist brings their own take to a number - but I think Randy captures the Spirit of Jimi to a T....
next time don't let Michael j fox hold the camera
That was shit

It’s a tribute, and he’s awesome. Surprised it has to be explained.
