With due respect to panditji, his lectures are more about other things than tabla, never he speak about sound production, bandish and performing on tabla as instrument. He might have infinite knowledge about this and that but his work on tabla as a instrument is questionable. 🙏🏼

He can and has spoken on those but he has chosen to focus on laya and this contexts in lectures and presentations due to specialization and interest

I think he is focusing on what Natya Shastra is focused on - vrtti, canda, akshara, in context of tala to have bhava embodied and rasa produced.
The tabla is an instrument for tala and canda etc.
